Field medic, the finale

This has been a rather long story, with four parts, so I hope this lives up to your expectations as the final part of it!

Tw: Medical problems.

Nadia softly groaned as she woke, clutching at her head. "What happened?"

"I accidentally administered Wrecker's pain medication to you," Tech sheepishly said. "Sorry, Mesh'la."

"It's fine," Nadia responded, closing her eyes as the headache kicked in.

"Would you like some pain medication for the headache?" Tech offered, lips quirking at the irony.

"Sure," Nadia took one from him. "Thanks Cyra'ika."

Tech's face flushed and he turned away from her.

"What's wrong?" Nadia questioned.

"I- I feel it necessary to tell you the meaning of the nicknames," Tech finally said, tapping his leg anxiously.

"What do they mean?" Nadia curiously asked.

"Mesh'la means beautiful, or handsome, depending on the circumstances," Tech told her, watching her carefully for her reaction. "Cyra'ika roughly translates to darling, or dear. They are both Mando'a terms of endearment."

Nadia slowly nodded, taking a deep breath. "So... what does this mean?"

"As I see it," Tech reasoned, "we have two options. We either continue referring to each other by these names, or not. This depends entirely upon you."

"If we do, does this mean something's between us?" Nadia asked, motioning back and forth between them.

"Would you like there to be?" Tech asked, averting his eyes from her.

Nadia opened her mouth to answer, but Wrecker came barreling in.

"The general's crashing!" He shouted, making Nadia jump up in alarm.

"Tech! Grab my medical bag!" Nadia ordered as she ran for where the general was resting.

Tech nodded and did as she asked, while Nadia began pumping on the Jedi's chest. Tech put the bag down next to Nadia while she worked, determination set on her face.

"General Allie's heart has stopped!" Nadia said as she preformed CPR. "I'll need to start it up again."

She hurriedly rooted around in her bag and pulled out a needle, inserting it directly into the Jedi's bloodstream.

"This acts as a burst of adrenaline," Nadia explained and resumed pumping on her chest. "It'll hopefully help."

"Shouldn't you jumpstart the heart?" Crosshair asked, his jaw clenched as he watched Nadia.

"Do I tell you how to do your job?" Nadia glared at him. "And no, I shouldn't do that. Her particular species is vulnerable to to electricity and it would fry her organs!"

She put her stethoscope to the general's chest, and everyone fell silent.

"She has a faint heartbeat," Nadia sighed in relief. "I'll have to closely monitor her now. Tech, get us to the nearest surgery centre immediately."

"Understood," Tech said and did as she said.

"Well, General Allie made it through the surgery. She'll be alright," Nadia told them as she removed her gloves.

"Phew!" Wrecker exclaimed.

"Indeed," Nadia tiredly smiled and closed her eyes for a moment as she leaned against the wall. "She's been taken from our care now and we can rest."

"That was quite the lengthy operation," Tech remarked. "Over six hours."

"Yup," Nadia agreed. "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go... sleep a bit."

"We could all use some sleep. Everyone go to sleep now," Hunter commanded.

Nadia packed up her medical bag and headed for the ship, Tech at her heels.

"Have you thought over my proposition?" Tech asked her. "About possibly bringing out relationship to the next level?"

"I have," Nadia answered.

Tech stared at her for a moment. "And what is your decision?"

"You didn't ask what my decision was, you only asked that I'd made it?" Nadia joked, smirking slightly.

Tech stared at her in awe. "I- I have so much respect for you."

"And yes, I would... I would enjoy having something between us," Nadia said, smiling brightly.

"That's- that's exciting," Tech said and pushed his goggles up his face.

"Yes," Nadia paused, "Cyra'ika."

Tech gave her a nervous grin. "Mesh'la."

They gave each other giddy smiles and fiddled with their thumbs.

"Hey, I said it was time to turn in for the night," Hunter scowled as caught up with them. "What are you two doing outside?"

"Nothing," Nadia quickly said. "Just talking."

Hunter stared at her suspiciously. "Alright then... anyway, it's time to turn in."

"See you in the morning?" Nadia hesitantly said to Tech as Hunter walked away.

"Of course," Tech eagerly said. "If I might ask, why did you hide it from him?"

"I didn't know what you wanted," Nadia shrugged.

"Ah," Tech hummed. "You suspected I wanted to hide our sudden relationship."

"No, I just wasn't sure if you wanted to tell them right away. Some people like a bit of privacy at first," Nadia said, walking toward the ramp. "Goodnight, Cyra'ika."

"Goodnight, Mesh'la," Tech responded.

I don't think I need to put translations since Tech explained what they meant, but lemme know if I'm wrong.

And this was the end of Nadia and Tech!
