~Neil~

" Mithali will assist you in this case, Neil " commissioner sir ordered. I looked towards Mithali, who was grinning like a fool. I rolled my eyes in annoyance.

" Sir, I can handle this case myself, I don't need anyone's help " I said as calmly as I could.

" It's an order, Neil " was the commissioner Sir's last sentence before leaving.

    Avni wouldn't be happy with this news. If I  tell her then she will start stressing about me being with Mithali.  It wouldn't be good for her health. She already got a panic attack few days back. It will be better not to tell her about this. I will do my best to solve this case soon.

" Wow Neil I'm so excited " Mithali shouted like a over excited kid. She is indeed a Chhipkali.

" It is a very important and dangerous case Mithali. Take it seriously and stop behaving like a child " I said coldly before coming out of conference room.

    Only 3 days to go for My princess's birthday. I want to do something special for her. Previous one was horrible. Last year I thought to give her surprise and didn't wish her all day and when I surprised her at night, she didn't accepted it. She thought I had forgotten her birthday and remembered at tight. She didn't talk to me properly for next one week. I don't want to repeat my stupidity again.

" Neil bhai " I heard DD shouted. I looked straight and found him standing in front of me.

" Why are you shouting, DD ? I'm not deaf "

" I was calling you but you seemed lost somewhere " I sighed and leaned against my chair.

" I want to do something special in Avni's birthday but nothing is coming in my mind " I frowned.

" Umm... what about you wouldn't wish her like last year " after saying that he bursted into laughter.

   I took a pen from my table and threw on him. But he kept on laughing.

" DD " I glared at him.Why I told him my problem ?

" If you have done with your laughter session, would you mind to use your brain " I said crossings my arms over my chest.

" Take her somewhere out of town " he suggested. I frowned.

" commissioner sir gave me a new case today. I can't even think about taking leave "

" But you can at least take a day off, right ? You both can go somewhere near the city and come back at night. Avni will be very happy " DD is right. Avni always complain that I don't take her anywhere. It because of my job. I don't get leave frequently and if got, not more than one day. It is perfect time to take a day off and spend the whole day with my love, my princess.

" Done. I...."

Knock.... knock... I was interrupted by the knock on the door. I looked towards the entrance.

" Neil I want to discuss about the case " Mithali stated. I nodded. She came inside and sat down.

" We will talk about it later " DD nodded and went out of my cabin.

  I told Mithali to start. She got some important information regarding the case which can be useful for us. This time she behaved professional which was surprising but good. My scordling got some sense in her. I should have do that before.

~Avni~

" stupid scooty.... now how will I go home " I kicked on my useless scooty. It suddenly stopped on mid way. I frowned looking at my scooty.

   After cursing for a good time I thought to call Jaanu for help. I took my mobile and dialed jaanu's number. It kept on ringing but he didn't answer it. I again  called him and this time he answered after two rings.

" hello jaa..." I stopped when I heard a female voice from other side. 

" who are you and what are you doing  with Neil's phone  " I asked  furiously.

" It's me, Mithali, Avni " what is she doing with my Jaanu's  phone  ? Is she is with Neil ? What are they doing together ? Arggg....relax Avni, they work  together nothing else.

I took a deep breath and asked calmly " where is Neil "

" umm...Neil is in washroom and he forgot his phone on the table " then who told you to touch his phone ?

" when he will come tell him to call me back " I told her.

" actually Avni, we are quite busy but don't worry, he will call you when he will get time " If she were present in front of me, I would have broken her nose by now. She has been poking her nose too much in our matter.

" It doesn't matter how busy he is and how much important work he has, he always has time for me, Mithali, so just tell him I called him, okay  " I stated.

" we are not busy in any case Avni. Neil asked me to go on a date with him so we came on a lunch date. He wanted to spend some time with me without any disturbance you know " wait..what? No this can't be possible. She is lying. Neil  can't do this . He is my jaanu.

  I trust my jaanu. I'll asked him first.

" you just give him my message " I told her gritting my teeth.

" okay, I'll..."

" what are you doing with my phone,  Mithali  " Neil interrupted her. Thank God  he came.

" sorry Neil, Avni  was continuously calling you so I thought it must be important and picked it " I heard Mithali said. I rolled my eyes.

" hello Avni....is everything alright " jaanu asked.

" jaanu, don't know how my scooty stopped on mid way "

" lock the scooty and leave it there and go home in a auto or taxi. I'll  get the scooty latter "

" ok jaanu. By the way where are you " I asked crossings my fingers.

" where would be I, Avni ? I'm in police station " he answered. I knew it. That Chhipkali was lying. I felt so relieved.

" when you... " I stopped when I heard

" Sir, your order  "  I can't believe this. I don't want to believe this. Mithali was right. Neil is not in police station. He lied me. Neil and Mithali are in on a date.

Neil never had a girlfriend before, at least since I started living with him. He never dated anyone. I thought he don't want any girl rather then me, he don't need anyone besides me. I thought he... he love me. He never said but His gestures always showed  that.

    But.....I..... I was wrong. He want a partner and that's not me. He want her.

" Avni I... " I didn't  let him to speak further. I don't want to hear more lie from him. I still can't believe he lied to me. He lied to me for her.

" enjoy your date, Neil " I disconnected the call. I was more hurt then angry. Neil broke my trust.

   I know it's only a date. She has not become his girlfriend yet but still he is with her. He chose her. He chose to lie for her. That's means he must be  interested in her. Of course he is.

   Then why he always says - I'm the most important person in his life, no one can take my place in his life - if he want someone else ?

  I looked at my phone when it started ringing. It was Neil. Why he is calling me ? Don't he want to spend time with her ?

More I think about Neil being with someone else more I getting  agnry and hurt. I can't see him with anyone else. I love him. But he don't.

     Avni reached their home after 2 hours of continuous walking. She walked 5 kilometers with her scooty beside her. Her feet were aching badly but she didn't stop. The pain of losing her love was more then anything. She didn't cry till she reached their home  . Every corner of  the their home was filled with their memories. That memories were hurting her more. It was increasing her pain. She couldn't hold her tears anymore and let them flow from her eyes. She fell on her knees and screamed till she could.

After one hour

   
" knock...knock " Avni woke up with a jerk and realized she was laying on floor. She looked up at the watch and it was 6 in the evening.

' it can't be Neil ' she thought and got up. She wiped her face to remove the tear marks then walked to the door.

" what were you doing, Avni ? Why are you not picking up Neil bhai's call ? He has gone mad " sunheri asked as soon as Avni opened the door.

" don't know how I fell asleep after coming from college and I think my phone was on silent mode " Avni lied. Sunheri sighed.

" I knew it. But you know how Neil bhai is. He worries for you too much " Avni gave her a face smile.

" call him or else he will keep worrying for you " Avni nodded and closed the door after sunheri left.

Avni went to washroom and stood under the shower letting her water flow through her body.
