questions.
everyone in life is gonna hurt you, you just have to figure out which people are worth the pain

"OCTAVIA, you want a peach?"

The girl in question looked up and was met by chocolate brown eyes. She raised her right eyebrow in amusement as she sat back in her seat.

It was the next day after her being attacked by the werewolf and Daryl getting shot. She still wasn't suppose to leave the house, neither was Daryl, but they didn't answer. Octavia needed some fresh air while Daryl needed away from everyone, so he had a tent set out far away from the group so he wouldn't be bothered.

"Did you just call me a peach?" Octavia asked with a teasing smile plastered on her face.

A red tint appeared pm Glenn's face and his eyes widened, and he began furiously shaking his head. "No, no, no, I said, 'do you want a peach' not that you aren't a peach or anything. Okay, I'm gonna shut up now," He stuttered out and started walking away from her, muttering under his breath in embarrassment.

"Hey! I didn't get a peach!" Octavia called after him, making him stop and turn around to face her with red cheeks.

"Oh, yeah," he mumbled, grabbing a peach from the basket he held, and threw it towards her. Reaching up, she easily grabbed it, though, she felt a pull on her hip making her lightly groan in annoyance.

"Thanks!" She called after Glenn, biting into the peach with a grin set on her face as she watched him walk away.

"Well i'll be damned. Are you a ninja or something?" T-dog asked, gaining her attention, and she looked over at him to see his mouth open.

"Well, I was in the mafia for awhile," she stated bluntly, not giving anything with her facial expression. His eyes widened and he took a few steps back. "I'm kidding!" She started chuckling, shaking her head as she watched him physically relax. "Is your wrist okay?" She changed the conversation, pointing to his arm.

He glanced down at his arm and nodded. "It doesn't hurt anymore," He stated with a small smile.

Octavia lightly smiled, taking another bite from her peach as her eyes connected to Glenn's as he came back over to them.

"I guess i'll have one, too," T-Dog suddenly decided, grabbing a peach from the basket. He looked up and saw the expression on Glenn's face. "What's up?"

"Nothing. Nothing's up. Why?" Glenn asked nervously.

Octavia slowly chewed the peach and watched Glenn with narrowed eyes before he gulped and walked away. "That was weird..."

"Hey, Octavia, can I talk to you?" Dale suddenly asked and she turned to face him, nodding. He loved from the place he was sitting and took the spot by her. "Since we might be staying together for awhile, I want to get to know the Octavia Winchester," he said, making her nod as if to say 'continue'. "Okay, uh, any family members?"

"Three brothers," She stated with a sad smile. Yes, she considered Castiel her third brother, and here was no way anyone was gonna change her mind.

"No parents?"

"Mom died when I was a baby. Dad died a few years before the apocalypse," she told him with narrowed eyes. Why did he want to get to know her all of a sudden? It didn't make a sense.

"How did they die?" He asked, bringing memories back to her, and not good memories. "If you don't mind me asking," He added once he saw the look on her face.

"It's fine," She told him with a small smile. "Mom died in a house fire. Dad died in a car crash, my brothers and I was the only ones that survived it," she told him simply, gulping as the memories flashed through her mind, reminding her of the bad times. And there was a lot of them.

"Oh, I see," He said with his mouth agape. "So no cousins? Grandparents?"

"All dead," she replied.

"What did your dad do?" He asked, looking her in the eyes.

She couldn't quite tell what the look was in his eyes, but she so desperately wanted to know. There was just something about him that made her curious.

"He was in the military for awhile. After that, we just traveled around the world," she explained to him, leaning forward in the seat.

"How old are you and your brothers?"

"Dean, the oldest is thirty. Sam, he is my twin brother actually, so we're both twenty-six, though he's older by a few minutes," she explained, taking a bite from her peach. She chewed it for a couple of seconds before swallowing. "Erm, I actually have a father figure, his name was Bobby." She thought about the old man who she considered a father more than her actual one. He was the one person, besides her brother's, that she would always go to for help.

"Bobby? What's his last name?" Dark questioned, his eyes narrowed in thought.

"Bobby Singer," she told him, finishing off her peach. "Why?"

"No reason."

OCTAVIA approached Carl who was about to join the small group who was gonna learn how to shoot guns.

"Hey!" She called out, gaining the boys attention who walked towards her with a soft smile. "You going, too?" she asked, breathing heavily as she came to a stop. Her hip was pulsing with pain, but she pushed through it because she is not weak. She is a Winchester, and Winchester's push through their pain.

"Yeah, mom and dad are letting me!" He exclaimed.

Octavia sighed and ruffled his hair slightly. "You be careful, okay? I don't what to have to jump in front of another bullet for you." She was joking, but the little boy winced at her words.

"I'm sorry," he suddenly mumbled, making her frown down at him.

"What? Why?"

"I didn't mean to get shot," he said, his voice cracking as he looked up at her. "I'm sorry that you're hurt because of me."

Octavia sighed as she realized the guilt that the young boy was holding. She slowly kneeled down to him so they were face to face. "Hey," she softly said, staring intently into his eyes. "It's not your fault that you got shot. You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time - that happens a lot in life, trust me. And, it's not your fault that I took the bullet for you. If I was given that choice again, I would choose you. I will continue to choose you because you're young and you have't experienced a lot of things. Yes, this world sucks, but a kid does not deserve to die. Especially you. So, don't blame yourself."

A tear skidded down Carl's cheek before he threw his arms around her neck, surprising her which resulted in her almost falling backwards, but she quickly gathered herself, and slowly hugged him back.

Pulling away, Carl smiled at her before running towards his father who had been watching the interaction with narrowed eyes.

Octavia cleared her throat and slowly stood up, grunting and groaning in pain as she did so.

Her blue eyes watched as Carl got in the car and they drove away.

"HERE'S your abortion pills!"

With wide eyes, Octavia turned around to see Maggie throw a small box at Lori. That's when the dots connected - Lori was pregnant and it had to be Shane's. That's the only reason why Lori wouldn't tell anyone and try to get rid of the evidence of her affair.

Watching Maggie storm away, Glenn following her, Octavia approached Lori. "Lori?" she gained the attention of the woman who then turned around with wide eyes. "You're pregnant?"

Lori made her way towards Octavia with terrified eyes. "Don't tell nobody," She pleaded, running a hand through her hair.

"So, Rick doesn't know?" Octavia asked her with narrowed eyes. "How dare you not tell your husband. He has the right to know that he's gonna have another baby. Better yet, is it Shane's baby?"

Lori's eyes were the size of saucers by now. "How did you-"

"How did I know?" Octavia interrupted her. "I saw the way you guys were around each other. I saw the secret glances. And, I see the way he looks at you. I used to have a person that looked at me in that same way," she explained, thinking back to her second boyfriend, the only boy who treated her with love and respect.

"Don't tell Rick," She begged.

"He has the right to know about that, too. He's gonna find out one way or another. It would sound better coming out of your mouth than someone else's," Octavia told her, putting her hands on her hips, tilting her head. She was glaring at Lori.

"Are you threatening me?" She asked and Octavia shook her head.

"No, I'm not. I'm just saying that you better tell him before it's too late," She simply told her and walked away.

Who does she think she is?

Octavia had heard her having a conversation with Rick earlier about keeping secrets. But here she is, keeping two huge secrets from him. Like seriously, who does she think she is?

WHEN Shane and Andrea came back from searching for Sophia, Octavia knew something happened when she saw the way they were around each other. Plus, Andrea had sex hair which made Octavia cringe in disgust. Shane wasn't that good looking nor did he have a good personality - it was a lose lose situation.

"What happened out there?" Dale asked them, his eyes narrowed in suspicion. He must've saw the same things she didx

"Erm, I-" Andrea trailed off, a creepy smile climbing up on her lips. She looked satisfied with herself and it honestly disgusted Octavia out.

"The place was overrun," Shane quickly cut in, 'discreetly' giving Andrea an exaggerated look.

"Yeah," Andrea agreed, pushing her blonde hair out of her face.

"Let's go get you cleaned up." Carol then dragged Andrea away from her father figure and Shane.

Octavia rolled her eyes and began limping away, her jaw clenched in pain. By now, she was just trying to do anything to ignore the pain, and that meant walking around the farm, talking to people even though that was the last thing she wanted to do. She wasn't that big of a people person. Her social skills were a little rusty due to the many years isolating herself from people that weren't her family.

Looking back, Octavia saw the murderous look on Shane's face who was way too close to Dale for her comfort level. Turning around, she began to walk towards them as fast as her hip would allow her.

Once she reached them, she shoved Shane away from the older man. "How about you back off, jackass," she hissed. He got up in her face with a glare, his green eyes filled up the brim with anger. "What? You gonna hit a girl?" she asked, crossing her arms. "Because I'm certainly not afraid to hit a girl," she spat, a sickly sweet smile on her face. He just scoffed and stalked away. "Assbutt."

"You didn't have to do that," Dale said, turning to face her with worry filled eyes. He thought Shane was going to go after her now.

"No, I did," Octavia told him, turning to face him properly. "He's such a prick!" She shouted out so Shane could over hear. "You okay?" I asked, worried for him. He was old and was too naive for her tastes.

"Yeah, it's you I'm worried about," He told her softly.

"Don't worry. Nobody messes with a Winchester," She stated and walked away. "They always end up dead."

As she was walking back towards the farm house, Rick ran out of his and Lori's shared tent, his face masked with anger and hurt.

Octavia smirked as she realized that Lori was caught redhanded. It's what that bitch gets for keeping secrets from the man she is suppose to love, all the while getting mad at him if he decides to keep a secret. She was really hypocritical.

Shaking her head, Octavia looked away from Rick who was storming towards his wife, and glanced over at the tent that occupied the Daryl Dixon.

She debated with herself for a second, but upon figuring out that she was most likely going to be with this group for a while, she better start to get to know the people in the group.

Sighing in defeat, she approached the tent with caution before calling out, "Hey, Daryl, you i'm there?" There was a grunt in reply so she hesitantly walked in. Her blue eyes landed on his form - he was sharpening his arrows. More specifically, the arrows she had gotten him. "I heard what happened," she told him. "How you feelin'?"

"Doesn't hurt," he simply muttered, not looking up at her, his eyes glued to the arrow in front of him. He was confused on why she was here, with him, in his tent, asking if he was alright even though they have barely spoken a word to each other. "Why are ya here?"

Octavia shrugged. "Well, Hershel's gotten everyone making sure I can't leave the farm, so I decided to get to know some people," she admitted. She wasn't really lying. she was bored as fuck. There was nothing to do but sit back and wait for someone to either find something of Sophia's whereabouts or her body. There was no denying the fact that there is a chance the little girl is a goner.

After a moment of awkward silence that followed her answering his question, he finally, slowly looked up at her, and took in her form. He hasn't seen here since yesterday before they went out searching for Sophia. Looking at her now, he could see her busted lip, bruised jaw, and the way she was holding her hip. Before, it didn't look like her hip bothered her that much, but now, it looked like something happened to make the pain intensify.

"What happened to ya?" He asked, looking back down to his the green and black arrows that she had found and gave to him. It was a small and simple gesture, but it was something he wasn't used to - someone treating him nicely.

Octavia shrugged yet again before answering. "Went looking for Sophia, got messy with a couple of walker's, and fell down a hill. That answer enough for you?" Her answer was brief and short. She was basically forcing herself to talk to him, and it was mostly because he wasn't much of a talker.

"You okay?" He hesitantly asked, still not looking at her. He felt her eyes on him, though, and he used all his power to not meet her gaze. There was just something about her that got under his skin. Maybe it was because they were too much alike, but either way, Daryl didn't want to start getting to know her because that will lead him to caring about her, and there was no way he was going to allow that to happen.

Octavia bit her lip and thought about his question for a good minute. She hasn't been okay in years. Ever since her mother died by the hands of Azazel, everything has went down hill, leaving Octavia and her brother's to have a terrible life of death and pain, and suffer. There was already enough pain in the world without monsters, but add that to the mix... it was too much to handle. Though, she wouldn't trade it for anything because it made her who she is, and even though she doesn't want to admit it, there was some good times.

"As good as I can be, I guess."
