missing.
Girls like her were born in a storm. They have lightning in their souls. Thunder in their hearts. And chaos in their bones

OCTAVIA clung tightly to Daryl as they sped down the highway. It had been a couple of days since the fall of the CDC and they had continued to move, barely stopping. And due to never stopping and not wanting to be split up, the group had abandoned several of the cars. Now, they only had the RV, Daryl's motorcycle, and Carol's car.

Daryl was leading the caravan of cars through the highway as Octavia clung to him.

He had felt weird at first having someone else on his bike with him, especially a girl he barely knows, but there was barely anymore room in the other vehicles, so she stuck with him.

Daryl took a sharp turn as they officially came onto the freeway and suddenly Daryl tensed. "Damn it," He growled. "Up ahead," he said before Octavia could speak up.

She sat up straighter and looked over his shoulder to see multiple cars that have been abandoned and overturned, blocking their path.

"Son of a bitch!" Octavia cursed as Daryl turned the motorcycle around, going back towards the RV.

Dale leaned out the window, looking down at them. "You see a way through?" He asked curiously.

Daryl barely nodded. "Follow me," He ordered, whipping the bike around once again, and started towards the abandoned cars.

Octavia flinched as she heard a small explosion coming from behind them. She looked over her shoulders to see the RV sputtering, smile erupting from the hood of the car.

Soon enough, all of the vehicles had come to a stop and surrounded the RV.

Octavia got off the bike and approached Dale, accessing the situation. Her blue eyes looked at every inch of the engine to see the problem. "It looks like it's the radiator hose," she told him, crossing his arms, and biting her bottom lip in thought. She looked up only to see his surprised face. "What? My brother taught me some stuff about cars. I once helped him rebuild his car after it wad crashed."

Dale looked at her, anazlying her for a good minute before looking back at his beloved RV.

Octavia furrowed her eyebrows and them looked at the swarm of cars that was in their vicinity. "Maybe we can find another radiator hose in one of these cars that will actually work," she suggested.

The youngest Winchester heard Daryl let out a grunt in agreement before he moved towards a nearby car and began searching through the trunk for anything valuable. Seconds later, he pulled out a couple cans of food and a half empty water bottle.

Octavia shrugged. "It's better than nothin'," she muttered and began walking towards another car to look through it.

T-Dog pulled out a can of gasoline. "I can siphon some fuel from some of these cars for a start."

"We need food and water," Carol said clutching onto Sophia's hand. She didn't want her little girl leaving her sight anytime soon.

"Guys... this is a graveyard," Lori whispered uncomfortably. "I really don't know how I feel about this."

"Come on, y'all. Just look around, gather what you can," Shane told the others as Octavia walked off towards a beat down blue ford truck.

She looked at the trucks bed, but found nothing useful, so she moved down the truck to look inside. There, lying on the seat was a tool kit. It looked like this person maybe worked for construction.

"Bingo," she whispered when she saw a medical kit and two bottles of water laying beside it. She yanked at the door and it wouldn't budge, so she slammed her body into it to loosen it up since it looks like it's been sitting there since the dawn of times. Once she got it budged, she opened it up, and reached for the supplies she had found.

She grabbed an extra bag from the RV and stuffed the stuff she found inside it. It was better than leaving it sitting somewhere where anyone can grab it.

Octavia sighed and began walking down the long line of cars until she paused upon seeing something sticking out of a van. She walked closer and realized that they were arrows. There was at least six and they were green.

She grabbed them with a grin and walked towards Daryl who was mumbling something under his breathe about the damn apocalypse. She chuckled and grabbed his attention as she stopped just behind him.

What do you want, little girl?" He asked her harshly. She simply shrugged and held out the arrows. He looked at them skeptically.

"Oh, come on. Don't act like that when someone is being nice to you," she teased him slightly, and when he growled in annoyance, she smirked. "Don't be dramatic, princess, I just saw these and thought they went well with your crossbow. You don't have to take them if you don't want them." She laid them down on the hood of the car he was searching through before walking away.

When Octavia turned around and walked away, the right side of Daryl's mouth twitched up. He grabbed the arrows and put them in his quiver.

The next thing she knew, she was being pulled under a car, scraping her knee in the meantime. Good thing, she was wearing jeans, bad thing she was wearing jeans with holes in them. She was about to bitch slap the person who grabbed her when she saw hundreds of feet walking past her. Loud moaning and snarling could be heard from the walker's mouth as they passed her and whomever was holding her in place.

That was when she tired head and was met by Georgian blue eyes that sent shivers down her back.

Octavia couldn't tell exactly how many walkers there were, but there were a lot. Too many for the group to take on by themselves,

Upon hearing a small gasp, both Octavia and Daryl looked up, and saw T-Dog holding his bloody arm a few cars down. The walkers haven't got to where he was, so he was okay at the moment.

Removing his arms from Octavia, Daryl got out from underneath the car, and slipped past the walker's without them seeing him. He had successfully made his way to T-dog and held his finger to his mouth, and shushed T-dog who looked like he was about to pass out.

He dragged T-dog into a laying position and laid a dead walker on top of him. He then grabbed another walker from a car and laid it on him.

Octavia smiled at Daryl's braveness and smartness before curling her arms into her body, waiting for the walkers to pass.

And after a few good minutes of silence and waiting, the walker's finally seemed to wander off further down the road away from the group.

Taking a breath of relief, Octavia relaxed as she saw that everyone in the group had survived. Then, a small scream had irrupted a few cars down, and the raven-haired Winchester whipped around to see a walker trying to reach for Sophia.

The young girl screamed and cried, pulling herself from underneath the car as another walker appeared from nowhere reaching towards her. "

Octavia quickly pulled herself out from underneath the car she was hiding under, and watched as Sophia darted around a car, and jumped over a railing as the two walkers followed right after her. She let out another shriek before disappearing into the trees.

Without a second thought, she went to run after the little girl, but her arm was grabbed by Shane, and she had to watch as Rick ran after her.

"Let me go!" She shouted, yanking her arm away from Shane, but the man tightened his grip on her, making her wince as she felt his nails dig deep into her forearm.

"YOU'RE sure this is the spot?" Octavia asked Rick who was showing a small group which consisted of Daryl, Glenn, Shane, and her. "I know this a very negative thing to say, but what if a walker or more came by this area, and she had to run?" She lowered her eyes as Rick bent down. "I know it was a good idea leading away the walkers and all, but you should've kept an eye on her, too."

"I know. I know," He told her with a guilty look.

She sighed and ran a hand down her face. She felt like it was her fault also for not running after them. "I know what it's like to lose someone like that," she told him, patting him on the back. "You did as best as you could."

"It wasn't good enough," He muttered, sighing, closing his eyes for a second in sadness. "I drew the walkers way off in that direction up the creek."

"Without a paddle," Daryl added, and Octavia snorted. "Seems where we've landed."

"She was gone by the time I got back," Rick told them, running a hand through his greasy hair.

"Don't worry Rick, we'll find her," Octavia reassured him, but also herself. It would be terrible to go back empty handed and for Carol to find out that she no longer had a daughter.

"I figured she just took off and ran back to the group. I told her go that way and keep the sun on her left shoulder," Rick said, pointing off to where the highway was.

"Hey, short round, why don't you step off to one side?" Daryl asked Glenn who just looked at him weirdly. "You're mucking up the trail," He informed him which made Glenn glanced down before jumping away from the trail, a sheepish expression on his face.

"Assuming she knows her left from her right," Shane said kinda cockily.

Octavia clenched her jaw in annoyance. She really wanted to punch Shane in the face - multiple times, with a chair.

"Shane, she understood me fine." Rick told him, getting fed up with his friend who seems to not do anything to help.

Octavia walked towards Rick with her arms crossed, and added, "She's twelve and not a idiot. I knew my left from my right when I was three years old. I'm pretty sure that she does too."

"Kid's tired and scared, man," Shane told Rick, ignoring Octavia, even though, in his opinion, her outfit made her look amazing. "She had her a close call with two walkers. Got to wonder how much of what you said stuck."

"I'm pretty damn sure she understood the danger if she were to take on wrong turn;" Octavia pointed out and didn't flinch when Shane threw her a harsh glare that sent chills down her spine.

God, he was one evil looking son of a bitch.

"Got clear prints right here. She did like you said, headed back to the highway. Let's spread out, make our way back," Daryl announced to everyone as he got himself up out of the little pond that Rick had stuck Sophia in.

Holding out his hand, Daryl helped Octavia up. And once she reached the others, she said, "She couldn't of gotten far." She was looking down at her footprints,

"Ya hunt?" Octavia looked up at Daryl who had asked the simple question. "You seem to know the woods just like me. You can track and can easily take care of yourself." He has narrowed eyes as he stared her down.

"Yeah," Octavia muttered. "I used to hunt all the time," she told him, nodding. "Unless you don't count hunting down monsters - she thought to herself.

He nodded and gave a small 'hmph' in acknowledgment.

"Hey, we gonna find her. She'll be tuckered out hiding in a bush somewhere," Shane's annoying voice spoke up.

Octavia looked down and noticed a small struggle. She squatted down and so did the others. "She was doing just fine till right here," she told them and Daryl nodded in confirmation. "All she had to do was keep going. She veered off that way." She pointed towards the right of where they currently were.

"Why would she do that?" Glenn asked, looking to Octavia who shrugged. There could be many possibilities on why she did what she did.

"Maybe she saw something that spooked her, made her run off," Shane said, grunting in frustration. He didn't care about Sophia.

Octavia shook her head upon seeing no other footprints.

"A walker?"

Octavia massaged her temple with her index and middle finger as she felt a headache coming on. Too much was happening all at once.

"I don't see any other footprints," Daryl spoke up upon seeing Octavia's expression. "Just hers."

"So, what do we do? All of us press on?"

"No, better if you and Glenn get back up to the highway," Rick said, and both Glenn and Shane stood up. "People are gonna start panicking. Let them know we're on her trail doing everything we can," He told his friend who looked skeptical. "But most of all, keep everybody calm."

"I'll keep 'em busy scavenging cars. Think up a few other chores. I'll keep 'em occupied." Shane threw his hand up as if to say 'don't worry, I got it under control.' "Come on," He said to Glenn and they walked off.

"Hey " Octavia said which made Rick and Daryl stop as they were about to walk off. "I'll go searching on my own. See if I pick up anything else. And, I promise that i'll be back on the highway in no time," she told them with a grin.

"What if another herd of walkers come by and you're by yourself?" Rick asked as he glanced around at the woods.

"Rick," she said in a stern voice. "I know how to take care of myself, and I was on my own before I was with ya'll." She shrugged, "It's no big deal."

"Be careful," Rick told her, sending her a comforting smile.

"Aren't I always?" She asked and then she realized that was what she usually said to her brother's before every hunt. "Adios bitches." She did a peace sign and walked away, hearing Rick's chuckle as she got further away from them.

And she did exactly what she told them, she looked around for a good two hours maybe, and then started to trek her way back to the highway.
