The air smelt of gunpowder and metal.Amidst the ongoing screeching and  bellowing,Mark crouched and huddled behind a chain of bushes.The colour of his uniform camouflaged completely with the greenish-brown colour of the twigs and leaves.All he could hear was the ruffling and shuffling of sand and leaves,somewhere not too far away. He had loaded his gun with cartridge,but did not shoot yet.Like a spider spinning it's ever rancorous web to captivate it's prey,he kept waiting for the euphoric episode of his life,when his prey would fall into his trap.As he was focussing more and more, a cold metal like object rode on his shoulders and embraced his neck. Before he could turn around and fathom....."

Hitherto, the students,who had buried their heads into their books,bolted up and caterwauled. They reckoned the scampering of the soldiers into the classroom to persecute them, in real-life.

No,there were no soldiers,but the closed door was now widely-opened,as if someone wanted to slam the door  against the walls and demolish it into pieces.

They all chortled when they saw three of their fellow-mates dart into the classroom, in tow.

"HARRY ARCHER, EDDY LARSSON, RICHARD WARNER---YOU THREE STINKERS!!!.YOU ARE LATE BY FORTY FOUR MINUTES, ON THE VERY FIRST DAY OF THE SESSION!!. YOU DESERVE DETENTIO....",wailed Mr. Mayhem,glowering at them

"NOOOOOOOO!!!",Jenny sprang up.

"Professor,let me explain.They had asked me for the directions. Since,I was baffled by the maze-like passageway that leads us to this room,I had mislead them. Hence they were not able to arrive on time.I beg your apology for this debacle. Please do not detain them"

"Are you sure,young lady?".said Professor Mayhem

"Yes professor.It was my fault."

After a minute of hesitation, they were finally let in.

They scurried across the classroom,only to find three vacant seats near Jenny.

"THANKS A LOOOOT,YOU KIND HUMAN!",said Harry gasping for breath

"Yeah,you saved our lives!",said Eddy,his mind brimming with delight.

Richard gawked at her. Jenny,being wary of his wierd look,said"Is anything wrong?"

"Wh...why did you ...save us,when you didn't even know us?",said Richard,reluctantly.

Jenny chuckled.

"Let me tell you a story.I was fifteen then........."
