I awoke thinking I slept for a few hours like always, but then I realized I was actually hungry and felt refreshed but also sluggish, except this sluggish was the kind when you had a good night's rest and didn't want to get up rather than being tired.

I grabbed my phone only to realize I had slept for a day and a half! I blinked my eyes a couple of times to make sure I wasn't reading it wrong before quickly dressing and going to my laptop to look at the list Looker had sent me. 

A lot of them were simple associations with the pokemon but that was better than me, who was a complete stranger to the Legendary and Mythical's so I downloaded the list to my phone and decided to head out. I passed Altair and my pokemon on the way out and bid them a quick farewell before walking out the door only to realize something.

'Those accursed images didn't overlap this time!' I felt adrenaline start pumping through my body and this odd pleasurable feeling spread through my body so I dashed back inside.

'That feeling is the emotion known as relief and happiness' Came Voltanuc's voice before I could even take a step and I was shocked. 

'Are you really back inside of me?' I asked, questioning what had happened for all this to be happening,

'Yes, and are you just going to ignore what I just said? Also, I'm not going to tell you why everything is back to normal, figure it out yourself." Volcanic stated unbelievingly and I voided my former action of going back inside in favor of continuing to find the trainers.

Since I was already in Kalos, I decide to call on Looker and tell him to find Y/Yvonne, who was the people who had associated with Xerneas, though I didn't know how I was going to handle Zygarde or Yveltal just yet, that could wait until after I procured Xerneas.

Looker got back to me a minute later, informing me that Y lived with her mom in Vaniville Town so I headed straight there. As I landed outside I noticed something was immediately wrong, the door was ajar with no one in sight so I summoned my gun and rushed inside. I heard a scream and headed upstairs, there I found Yvonne struggling with a cloaked figure.

I shot twice, aiming for the person but they dodged with supernatural speed and engaged in hand to hand combat with me after I responded I realized this was someone from the Clan. I quickly outmaneuvered him and threw him onto the ground.

However, before I could open my mouth to say something, I heard a crack and the man started foaming at the mouth. 

"Damn," I muttered as I stood over his dead body, it was most likely a poison capsule hidden inside a fake tooth or somewhere in the mouth, that was standard protocol and I should've remembered but I hadn't been there for so long that I simply forgot.

In any case, I hurriedly picked the man up and threw him out the bedroom window before confirming that Yvonne was not hurt. She was a bit bruised but otherwise unharmed so I quickly told her to stay here before going back downstairs to check for any other occupants. I found her mother who was knocked out in the kitchen but there was no one else so I picked up her mother and lay her on the couch before heading back upstairs and retrieving Yvonne herself.

"Thank you for saving me and my mom," was her immediate words as I sat down across from her.

"It was nothing, but more importantly, did you know what that man was after?" I replied

"Not really, I heard him say something about Xerxer, but otherwise nothing,"

"Xerxer? Who is that?" My curiosity when up at the mention of this name

"Oh, I mean Xerneas, Xerxer is the nickname I gave it, but it's now gone back to being a Tree so I don't know what that man wanted,"

"I see, well, in any case, I came here because I need your help, we need to awaken Xerneas because of a great danger that is on the horizon. You are the only one who has associated with it and is still alive,"

"Oh, but..." She hesitated and I knew she didn't trust me so I decided to start spinning a story.

"I am with the International Police, my name is Shiro, and as you can see, that man was part of a syndicate we were tracking since they want to bring ruin to the world," I blatantly lied while pulling out a forged badge and showing it to her, this seemed to have the effect I wanted and she opened up.

"Well then, I would be happy to help you guys, I'm sure Xerxer would too!" She announced confidently and I nodded before pulling out my phone and contacting Looker to get an ambulance over here while I took Yvonne to the tree that Xerneas had become.

"So this is the Tree, I've never seen it up close," I whispered to myself as I activated Elemental Sight and my vision was assaulted by a huge amount of darkness that swirled the tree.

"I wonder how Xerxer is doing, it's a tree now but surely it can still feel right?" Yvonne semi asked and I merely replied with an "I don't know but step back, I need to begin its awakening"

Once I determined that she was far enough back, I activated Emperor mode and brought down lightning onto the tree, which had the desired effect as the Darkness came into full view and started using the forest as an attack method. 

"I thought you could use some help," Came Mewtwo's voice and my pokemon along with Zacian and Zamazenta were teleported beside me.

I quickly masked them all in a shield before we all started to engage the darkened tree which was thrashing all sorts of branches at us. 

"Tch, how annoying," I slashed a couple of branches but more just kept replacing them which was a pain in the ass, it seemed my pokemon were dealing with the same problem so I gave the order for them to back up and go for ranged attacks on the Tree itself.

Attacks ranging from Aura Sphere to Behemoth Sword were used but the tree refocused everything on defense and weaved a wall.

This, however, was not a problem as I simply summoned Voltanuc and nodded at him.

He dashed forward, activating Velocity Blade and easily cutting straight through the wall. I then summoned my Sniper and used Voltanuc's Condensed Sniper move, which was quickly blocked by more branches while making a decent dent in the new wall.

I changed my Armament to Sword form and used Thunder Hunter, summoning the 3 attack dogs and they charged straight in under the cover of my Crackling Shadow which caused a massive explosion.

Ōkami then came up behind me as we had practiced so many times and lent me its aura, allowing me to create an even more powerful Aura Cero than usual. The beam shredded through the plants and impacted the tree directly causing a powerful shockwave.

I quickly capitalized and used both mine and Ōkami's aura to power up Angel and Zacian, who used Swift and Behemoth Sword respectively. They both landed deep cuts and a golden light could be seen from the cuts we inflicted, I then collaborated with Mewtwo to create a barrier that disintegrated anything that came near while everyone else went back on offense.

"I don't understand, why is Xerxer doing this?" came Yvonne's voice as she ran up behind me

"It looks like the syndicate we were tracking has already poisoned Xerneas, making it go wild," 

I kept my facade and focused on maintaining the barrier while proving support to my pokemon here and there.

"I see, well then I have to help!" She cried out and let her pokemon out, I just gave her a quick nod and went back to observing the battle, not soon after, a white flash went off and I shielded my eyes for a second before observing the new development.

The pokemon before me was still Xerneas to some degree, but it had become fused with the Tree and its horns were now grey with red gems instead of their usually rainbow-colored ones. On top of that, the blue color of its upper body had become a dark navy blue and it exuded a dark pink aura.

It felt like the air pressure had suddenly increased in the face of Xerneas and I increased the barrier strength while buffing Mewtwo so he could cast Psystrike which made Xerneas let out a loud shrill.

Voltanuc called for the Heaven Culling Spears and launched them straight at Xerneas, creating huge explosions that blew most of the surrounding forestry away, revealing us to anybody who looks in from the sky.

"I have to finish this fast before the media gets here, everyone get back!" I ordered and everyone got behind me while Xerneas shot a Hyper Beam which I deflected with some difficultly.

"Voltanuc, we are going to use a combo, ready?" 

"Not a problem."

"Alright, use; Void Cutter, followed by Euros Loop, into Predate Cage, then Cursed Voltage along with Emperors Charge."

The result was just as I had envisioned, maybe even better, Void Cutter, Euros Loop, and Predate Cage put Xerneas in a stun lock, which allowed Voltanuc to cast Cursed Voltage to buy him enough time to call down Emperors Charge.

After it was all over, everything in a one-mile radius was just flattened and scorched earth and I lowered the barrier while chucking an Ultra Ball at Xerneas, catching it without hesitation.

I then picked up the Ultra Ball and handed it to Yvonne, who looked absolutely shocked at the entire ordeal. She opened her mouth to assumably protest my decision but I but her off.

"Xerneas will only listen to someone it trusts, hence why even though I caught it if I tried to command it, then it wouldn't listen. The only thing I ask is that you join us in the fight when the times comes with Xerneas." I explained and she took it all in before nodding vigorously. 

I then turned back and nodded to Mewtwo who teleported us back to Yvonne's house, I said some brief goodbyes before having Mewtwo teleport us back to the base.

"Now that I think about it, why didn't you teleport Altair and Nailiah with us, it would've been a valuable experience," I asked Mewtwo but I didn't get an answer, to which I then realized all the lights were off.

I then was greeted by a mass chorus of 'Suprise!' and the lights flicked back to life, revealing my pokemon and Altair standing over a table full of food and a cake that read: "Congrats on Recovering!"

I started confusedly before realizing they meant the entire ordeal of my sleep deprivation, now that I think about it, I think I just got used to the images and they didn't bother me anymore, I guess that's what Voltanuc didn't tell me.

"Why would you all do something like this?" 

"Well that's pretty obvious, we couldn't do anything for you while you were hurting, so I thought the least we could do is hold a party for you getting better!" Altair excitedly announced while pulling out a seat for me.

With all the expectant faces staring at me I had no choice but to appease them and took a seat with everyone else and dug into the variety of foods.

"Oi, you've got it all wrong you idiot, you really are a huge hassle to teach. I mean how can you know that emotions are a thing, and even identify some when you feel them but not others!!? It's freaking unbelievable, even the slowest Emperor learned faster than you!" Voltanuc exasperated and I just looked at him confusedly before returning to my meal which was admittedly pretty good.

"I swear, Me, Nailah, and Mewtwo are going to hold you here until we can teach you more emotions than you already have!" I paled at that message and simply pushed Voltanuc's ranting to the back of my mind and thought on where A.R.C could possibly hiding my Mother and Lillie.

Things are getting exciting again! I plan on putting one more chapter of finding the associates of legendaries before the next big fight so bear with the slow pace for now. I hope you all are well! Ja ne!
