[ Randeeps house 5 a.m. next day ]

{ this morning, today was going to be very unusual, in a good way. It was typical monsoon weather, sky was not dark but not bright either, strong winds blew but were yet not disturbing, a good downpour was expected. Randeep was shaken up from his sleep by his brother as they had to clear mattresses, all of them dutifully rearranged the hall back, no one was up they were 3 hours before the breakfast, but surprisingly Ayesha came out}

Ayesha:- are aap log itni jaldi kyu uth gaye ?

Randeep:- bas sabka agenda pura karne – mujhe na sone dene ka { Ayesha laughs lightly}

Raghav:- waise tum kyu uth gayi ?

Ayesha:- kittu padh rahi hai, uske exams aa rahe hai to

Sanjay:- par abhi to hue the na ?

Ayesha:- us abhi ko 1 mahina ho gaya, aur use kafi catchup karna hai is sab mein padhai kahin peeche reh gayi [ Sanjay noded understandingly ]

Randeep:- ashi so rahi hai? { Ayesha nods } vo thik hai na ?

Ayesha:- ha bas ek baar ghabra gayi thi par mein thi uske saath

Randeep{nods}:- vo uthe to mujhe bata dena

Ayesha:- ha. Achha abhi aap log kya loge chai ya coffee ?

Mrinal:- nahi rehne do hum log bana lenge

Ayesha:- are mein –

Randeep:- ha tum log kyu –

Ayesha:- are mein karti hu na

Raghav:- tumlog padhai karo, jabse aaye hai dono kitchen mein hi uljhe ho

{zain stood up suddenly }

Zain:- to ek kaam karte hai aaj kitchen ki duty ladko ki. Kyu boys ?

{ all agreed in unison and even with protests from Ayesha all went to the kitchen followed by her}

Ayesha:- mujhe wakai lagta hai aap logo ko –

Raghav:- na aaj to humlog hi rahenge yahan, no arguments

Ayesha:- aa –

Raghav:- no arguments

{ unfazed by Raghavs stern voice she folded her arms, although she was losing the argument to their valid reasoning, it was worth one last try, folding her arms she decided to give her best card}

Ayesha:- achha aur aap log jaante hai kya kahan hai ?

{ while for a moment everyone looked blown away, Randeep gave are you kidding me look to Ayesha }

Randeep:- saaliji aap bhul rahi hai ye mera kitchen hai, mein yahan roz khaana banata hu

{ while boys looked skeptical, Ayesha finally lost}

Zain:- achha pehle to meri dono bhabhiyan kya lengi ?

Ayesha:-ah coffee ?

Zain:- ok aur baaki sab ko kya kya ?

Ayesha:- sir, maam, aur maasi {nandini} ke alawa uncle – aunty{Randeeps parents} chai lete hai, aur baaki sab ko coffee

Raghav:- ok ab tum bhi jao aur thodi padhai karlo, hum kar lenge

Ayesha:- par meri books nahi hai

Randeep:- tumhara koi subject ashi ke saath hai ?

Ayesha:- accounts. Kyu ?

Randeep:- room mein uski books hai, shelf par dekh lena

Ayesha:- aur breakfast ?

Randeep:- hum log dekh lenge

{Ayesha left unsure to accompany kittu for studying}

Zain:- books room mein hai ? ha ha ? { nudging Randeep he inquired to earn a glare from him} bhabhi shift ho gayi hai kya ?

Randeep:- to chup karega, bas bakwas karni hai { he turned to face others who were smiling teasingly} ab ye smile khud hataoge ya mein hatadu { he cracked his knuckles but still had no effect on others} achha ab sach sach bolo kisko khaana banana aata hai?

{ all smiles wavered and zain instantly put his hand up}

Randeep:- omlet ke alawa { Randeep said pointing at him and he pouted in response }

Zain:- aata hai, seekha hai mene

{ Raghav also unsure put up his hand }

Randeep:- aata hai ? { he was surprised while Raghav shrugs}

Raghav:- I help keene, kuch chize ban jaati hai

{ he looked at every face and slowly nodded and then clapped his hands }

Randeep:- ok, to mein zain aur tu breakfast dekhenge aur bhai aur sanjay beverages aur table { he turned to the two} chai to bana loge na ?

{ both nodded and all got to work, while Sanjay was good at tea mrinal took charge of coffee}

Randeep:- to kya banaye? Aur non – veg nahi hoga

Zain:- kisi ke liye bhi ?

Randeep:- nahi sir aur maam veg hai { zain nodded }

Raghav:- ok to kya banaye ?

Zain:- check karte hai

{ while the three were rummaging through the cabinets, Sanjay already served the girls, all gathered after getting the things to decide }

Mrinal:- kya banega ?

Zain:- yahi hai jo easily ban jaye { he showed poha and some mixes}

Raghav:- to pohe aur dhokla bana dete hai

Mrinal:- aur parathe bhi bana sakte hai ?

Sanjay:- kisse banta hai ?

Randeep:- mein bana lunga par dhokla nahi karte, pakode kar dete hai mausam bhi hai aur mujhse ho jayega { zain eyed him}

Randeep:- aata hai, seekha hai mene

{ he mocked in same tone as zain earlier. With that all got to work, while table was being set in dining area and nearby on coffee table, Raghav chopped vegetables, Randeep prepared dough and zain prepared batter and boy they were a sight to see, all in coordination playing and working as if it was their routine with each other. By the time they finished and tasted they were exhausted, but everything turned out good. Indeed they had talent, before they could go and rest, elders made appearance in the hall, turning to the clock they saw it was already 7:45, they started around 5:30, good things first timers started early }

Sumeet:- tumlog kitchen mein kya kar rahe the ?

Randeep:- aaj humari kitchen duty thi

{ men exchanged questioning looks while mothers were smiling warmly }

Raghav:- vo ladkiyan kaafi thak gayi thi to humne socha ..

Randeep:- aap log chinta mat kijiye achha bana hai

Sumeet:- to dikhao bhai, kya kiya hai

Mrinal:- aap log bethiye hum serve karte hai

{ just as all sat down, both girls were called and in time all the food was placed on the table }

Ayesha:- aaplog bhi betho hum serve karte hai

Sanjay:- nahi hum haina

Kittu:- aap sab ne banaya hai na ab hum kar lenge

Randeep:- mein ashi ko leke aata hu

Ayesha:- vo so rahi hai

Randeep:- to uthana padega, naashta karke so jayegi

{ Ayesha nodded and Randeep went to wake her up}

In the room:-

{ Randeep came to wake her up but she was so peaceful in her sleep he sat beside admiring her, if only all that never happened and he could erase it, if only she would always be this peaceful, his line of thought was broken when she stirred, smiling he caressed her cheek }

Randeep:- bachha utho subah ho gayi

Ashi:- mm. 2 minute { she curled to his side, he leaned in and kissed her forehead}

Randeep:- good morning

Ashi:- good morning

Randeep:- ab utho nahi to mein utha kar le jaunga

Ashi:- itni subah kahan jana hai ?

{ ashi shot open her eyes and Randeep was amused at her reaction}

Ashi:- tumne ?

Randeep:- ha, par baki sab ne bhi, aaj ladko ne sab kiya hai

{ ashi got up with his help and went to brush her teeth, as she returned she was smiling at Randeep who was looking around with happiness in his eyes }

Ashi:- kya dekh rahe ho? { Randeep turned to her and went to hold her}

Randeep:- tumhare aane ke baad is kamre mein, is ghar mein aur mujh mein khushi laut aayi

Ashi:- to bahar nahi jaana ? itna bura banaya hai ki mujhe bahar nahi lejana chahte ?

Randeep:- bahut khed ke saath bata raha hu aap galat hai mrs. Rai, kaafi achha bana hai

Ashi:- aisa hai to chalo

{ the made way out of the room but ashi stopped after few steps out the door, the sight was overwhelming, at the dining table were her elders, sasum, her parents and in – laws smiling and chatting complimenting the food maybe, then near the dining table on the sofas were all the boys laughing and bickering as always, while aditi and Ayesha along with madhu and kittu, were on stools by the kitchen counter sipping their coffee smiling at Ayesha as she was telling something. This was all she needed, this was home, the home she left back at agra and back in her childhood, her family all gathered at a distance of few steps in one room all happy. She was staring ahead with smile which confused Randeep }

Randeep:- kya hua bachha ruk kyu gayi ? kya dekh rahi ho ?

Ashi:- ghar ko

Randeep:- ha ?

Ashi:- sab kitna achha hai, aisa lag raha hai ek parivar hai, dekho na { finally Randeep got what she was saying and smiled looking around}

Randeep:- ha achha to hai

Ashi:- kitna achha hai, aisa nahi lag raha koi festival ho ?

Randeep:- jaise ?

Ashi:- jaise teej ya diwali, bas ek kami hai

Randeep:- kya ?

Ashi:- mein yahan hu jabki mujhe wahan aditi bhabhi aur sabki help karni chahiye aur tumhe wahan apne bhaiyo ke saath hona chahiye

Randeep:- tumhe nahi lagta hum wahan hote to ye sab yahan nahi hote

Ashi:- ye bhi hai

{ he smiled at her contentment and took her to everyone, all the faces brightened }

Ayesha:- aaja breakfast karle { she helped her and took her to girls gang}

Madhu:- aaj ladko ne breakfast banaya hai

Sumeet:- aur khane layak bhi hai

Zain:- kya sir itna hi bharosa hai aapko hum pe ?

Sumeet:- nahi mujhe to bharosa tha ki ye khake hum sab mar sakte hai

Randeep:- sir { he whined with zain in unison }

Sashi:- vo mazak kar rahe hai, sabko pata hai tumlog achha hi karoge

{ all continued to tease boys and soon girls also joined all enjoyed the breakfast, it was not something extraordinary but casual and tasty }

[ Randeeps house 11 am ]

{ after the hearty experimental breakfast all returned to their routine, ladies were chit – chatting basically about coming festivals and eventually to the awaited wedding, boys and girls decided to finish pending tasks }

Ashis room:-

{ Randeep knocked but there was no response as he saw the trio engrossed in their books}

Ashi:- ye wala

Ayesha:- pagal aurat, ulta kiya hai donation us taraf income haina

Ashi:- yaar ruk ek baar concept kar leti hu lag raha hai sab bhul gayi hu

Ayesha:- notes kahan hai ?

Ashi:- wahan shelf pe

Ayesha:- kya baat hai aaj kal sab shelf mein hi mil raha hai

Ashi:- yaar abhi vo important hai kya ? lana kuch yaad nahi hai

{ Ayesha gets up and notices Randeep smiling at them }

Ayesha:- jijaji ? aap wahan kya kar rahe ho ?

Randeep:- vo mein ashi se milne aaya tha par aap sab busy the to.

Ayesha:- are thik hai waise bhi hum break lene ka soch rahe the, aap aa gaye bahana mil gaya, to aap baat karlo hum aate hai

{Ayesha and kittu leave while ashi rests herself closing her eyes waiting for Randeep to talk, moments later she think Randeep left and opens her eyes while Randeep was staring her with a small smile }

Ashi:- dekh rahi hu aaj kal khoye khoye se ho kya hua ? { Randeep shakes his head }

Ashi:- kuch to ?

Randeep:- kuch nahi kafi time ho gaya tumhe aise dekhe to

Ashi{ laughs}:- ha ha kal raat ko kafi time ho gaya nai

{ Randeep holds her hands and places a kiss on it }

Ashi:- kya hua ?

Randeep:- baat karni thi

Ashi:- bolo

Randeep:- tum mujhse shaadi karogi ? { she was shocked at first and Randeep noticed it}

Randeep:- nahi karni hai to –

Ashi:- ha { he stopped and stared at her }

Randeep:- bachha –

Ashi:- kyu pooch rahe ho jab mera jawab pata hai

Randeep:- mera matlab hai abhi

Ashi:- aur mera jawab hai ha mera jawab ha hi hoga, abhi ya kabhi bhi, ab batao achanak kyu ?

Randeep:- kyunki mein papaji aur dad se baat karne ka soch raha tha

Ashi:- papaji ? not bad mr. rai

Randeep:- thats not the point

Ashi:- ok, ok baat karlo meri ha hai jao

{ he squeezes her hand once before leaving it but she doesnt let go and he sits back}

Ashi:- baat karke mere paas aana seedhe

Randeep:- tumhe lagta hai vo mana kar denge ?

Ashi:- nahi, par mere paas aana

Randeep:- man rakh rahi ho mera

Ashi:- kisi baat se pareshan ho, mujhe usse matlab hai ye to mein jaanti hu ki sab maan hi jayenge

Randeep:- aata hu

{ ashi signals him to come closer and he leans in, she kisses his forehead }

Ashi:- man jayenge vo. Best of luck

Randeep:- I need it, abhi aaya

{ with that he leaves her room}

In the garden:-

{ both men were seated with some files scattered, catching up on work when Randeep came to them, he was nervous but stood with determined face not to let them see his weakness, he knew this matter was to be sorted properly in order to get their blessings}

Rds dad:- kya hua ?

Randeep:- kuch baat karni thi – aap dono se

AD:- betho

RDD:-ab bolo kya baat hai ?

Randeep:- mujhe aap dono se shaadi ke bare mein baat karni thi humari shaadi ki

{ they knew this topic would come but at such a time }

AD:- abhi ye achanak kyu ?

Randeep:- kyunki jab hum vulnerable hote hai tabhi support chahiye hota hai jaise abhi hume chahiye aapka

{ Randeeps dad laid his papers down and sat back }

RDD:- to kya chahiye bolo ?

Randeep:- aap dono ki manzoori humare rishte ke liye, humari shaadi ke liye, aap log kyu tayyar nahi hai is rishte ke liye ?

{ Randeeps dad gave a look to ashis dad and he too relaxed to let his dad take charge }

RDD:- abhi to hospital se laaye hai ashi ko, abhi is sab ka kya matlab hai ?

Randeep:- mein ye nahi keh raha ki abhi par ha isi saal mein agar aapko sahi lage

RDD:- aur hum mana kar de to ?

Randeep:- to aap mujhe ek valid reason denge aur mein wait karunga, aapki ha ka, aur koshish karunga jo bhi problem hai solve kardu.

AD:- kya tum dono shaadi ki zimmedaari ke liye tayyar ho ? khud socho ashi abhi se bahu aur biwi banne ke liye tayyar hai ?

Randeep:- mera sawal vo nahi hai ? mera sawal hai ki aap ko is rishte mein kya galat lagta hai ?

RDD:- jhooth nahi kahunga, hum tumlogo ke khilaaf nahi hai par tum khud samajhdar ho, ashi bacchi hai

Randeep:- par kya isse ye the hojata hai ki hum tayyar nahi hai is zimmedaari ke liye ?

AD:- to iska jawab do, sabne tumhe dekha hai, tumhara gussa kaabu mein nahi hai to kya guarantee hai tum uspe haath nahi uthaoge shaadi ke baad ?

Randeep:- agar mene aapko ye yakeen dilaya hai to sahi hai aapko ye rishta nahi karna chahiye, par sabne mujhe ashi ke saath bhi dekha hai, kabhi mere saath mene ya kisi ne bhi ek ungli nahi uthai uspe

RDD:- aur agar vo hume bahu ke taur par pasand nahi aayi ?

Randeep:- abhi maa uska swagat karne ke liye mujhse bhi lad gayi, aur aap bhi khush the to 3-4 mahine mein aisa kya badal gaya ?

RDD:- hm, point hai { nods } aur tum dono kafi age gap hai uska kya ?

Randeep:- ye baat to is ghar mein majood har couple par laago hoti hai, phir bhi mujhe aur ashi ko lagta hai ye achha hi hai, har Jodi mein ek isaan mature hona hi chahiye to ha humare liye ye ek problem nahi hai

AD:- bhaisahab kya mein Randeep se akele baat kar sakta hu ?

{ Randeeps dad nods and leaves them alone }

AD:- ashi ke college ka kya karoge ?

Randeep:- vo bhi sorted hai, ashi ke exams shift hone wale hai, to mein November soch rahe the, phir uske as ek pura mahina hoga exams se pehle, phir shoot bhi nahi hai tab

AD:- use kab bata rahe ho ?

Randeep:- abhi to bilkul nahi, ek ke baad ek chiz hoti jaa rahi hai, to jab hum shoot shuru karenge tab hi use pata chale to achha hoga

AD{nods}:- mein kahu tum mujhe nahi pasand to ?

Randeep:- to bhi mein wait kar sakta hu, ashi se zyada mere liye aapki manzoori important hai kyunki aapko apni beti mujhe deni hai

AD:- kyu du tumhe apni beti ?

Randeep:- jis khushi aur jis life ko hum aur khas kar vo apne sapne mein bun chuki vo mein use de sakta hu, aapke saamne nahi bolna chahiye, par pyaar karta hu aapki beti se apni jaan se jyada, chaand lane ke wade nahi karunga par use khush rakhne ka wada zaroor karta hu

{ ashis dad called Randeeps dad back, for a moment both discussed something in private then came upto Randeep }

AD:- hum ok hai { Randeeps dad nodded too leaving Randeep stunned, was it that easy ? he asked himself }

Randeep:- ji ?

RDD:- tum dono ki shaadi se hum khush hai, ab ye batao shaadi kabki rakhne ki baat kar rahe humlog ?

{ Randeep smiled wide and got up, touching feet of both fathers he hugged his father }

Randeep:- thank you, aap dono ko thank you

AD:- congratulations

{ he quickly sobered up at his voice and was pulled in a hug by ashis father }

Randeep:- thank you { they part}

AD:- ab batao shaadi November ki ?

Randeep:- agar kundli ke hisaab se panditji ha kehde to, agar aap dono ko sahi lage

AD:- bhaisahab mujhe rishta nahi karna

{ he left the two shocked at this sudden change of statement }

RDD:- kya ? kyu ? bahisahab –

AD:- abhi bhi agar aapka beta uncle kehna chahta mujhe to kya faida ise damad banana ka

{ both looked at still shocked Randeep and burst out laughing then his dad shook him }

RDD:- mazak kar rahe hai vo, aur ha ab tum dono sabko ma aur dad bolna seekh lo, humari beti ko bhi bata dena

{ Randeep exhaled and realized he was holding a breath }

Randeep:- aapne to dara hi diya papaji

AD:- ye hui na baat { he patted Randeeps back }

{ both fathers hugged each other congratulating each other and decided to share the good news with all at lunch }

[ Randeeps house 1 pm ]

{ all were seated at their gang spot, elders on dining table boys on sofa and girls near kitchen counter, while fathers were bubbling to tell the news, they waited for the opportunity and ashi was tensed still unaware of their decision }

Sumeet:- hum aaj hi jaayenge { he answered to someone bringing Randeep back from his happy thoughts}

Randeep:- kahan ?

Sumeet:- vo mujhe aur sashi ko kal pune jana hai kuch kaam hai

Randeep:- mummy ?

{ it was her question he discovered, but before she could answer his father intervened }

RDD:- to hum bhi chalte hai kaam bhi dekhna hai

Randeep:- par dad aap ko meri shaadi –

RDD:- us baare mein baad mein baat karte hai

Randeep:- par apne to –

RDD:- bola na baad mein

{ seeing the tension growing up his mother intervened }

RDM:- baacha kuch bol raha hai sun to lijiye

RDD:- kya keh raha hai, 6 mahine se ek hi to baat ho rahi hai, shaadi shaadi bas aur kya aur jab kuch hona hi nahi tha to kya faida baat karke kyu bhaisahab

AD:- aur kya hume nahi laga tha humare baacho ka rishta hona chahiye bas

{ this left him shocked beyond belief, and mothers suddenly were becoming angry but tried to calm down while ashi almost cried }

AM:- are par aise kaise ? bachho ki bhi to suniye

RDM:- aur kya har jagah apni nahi chalti

AD:- ha par –

AM:- kya par bas keh diya socha nahi bacchi par kya betegi

RDM:- aapke ladke ab chote bachhe nahi ki sab kuch aap teh kar le –

RDD:- suno to

RDM:- nahi aise kaise bas har baar –

RDD:- bhagwaan, suno to { he yelled stopping the frantic women }

RDD:- pehle nahi laga tha

AD:- ha par ab hum is rishte se khush hai aur soch rahe the { he gestured Randeeps father to continue }

RDD:- ki kal sabki maujoodgi mein kundli milwa le aur shaadi ki date nikalwa le

{ this relieved everyone, a smile appeared on faces at which the fathers laughed, Randeep turned to ashi seeing her eyes all misty, boys came and hugged and congratulated him while ashi was surrounded by girls, he freed himself and went to ashi, while elders continued their conversation and congratulating each other }

With Randeep:-

Randeep:- tum khush nahi ho ?

Ashi:- bahut, bahut khush hu, kaha tha na sab maan jayenge

Randeep:- phir ye aansu kyu ? { he wiped them}

Ashi:- abhi ek pal ke liye dadiji aur papa ne dara diya tha

{ Randeep smiled turning he found elders busy, and leaned in near her ear }

Randeep:- sach kahu to mein bhi darr gaya tha { he heard her chuckle } aur ha, I love you { he quickly pecked her cheek and moved back in position, all boys hooted at this which got the attention of elders while ashi just blushed among her giggling friends}

RDD:- kya kar rahe ho sab wahan ?

Zain:- kuch nahi uncle bas bhabhi ko congratulate kar rahe the { Randeep smacked his head lightly }

Randeep:- time hai abhi, abhi hui nahi teri bhabhi

{ zain glared at him saying what the hell while he returned the glare as if saying in front of elders, you lost it? }

AD:- ishaarebaazi ho gayi to kaam ki baat karle ?

Randeep:- ji

AD:- ab tumhare sir to rukne ko tayyar nahi to tum hi karo kuch

Randeep:- sir pls bas kal ki baat hai

Sumeet:- kal urgent nahi hota to pakka rukte, tumhe to pata hai

Randeep:- to aapke bina kuch nahi hoga

RDD:- kya bol rahe ho ?

Ashi:- ha mein bhi Randeep ke saath hu

AD:- lo abhi shaadi karni hai ki raat thi ab nahi karne ki raat hai

{ after discussing and debating with constant protest of sasum all gave in to ashdeeps wish }

Nope not ended, why this sudden move Im going in for a filler part of this chapter, hope u liked this one, who expected the full on tv drama with yelling and walking off and sentimental scenes be honest
