A very short OS. Please ignore any typos or if you find any lack of flow as I wrote this in less than an hour. It is a very random idea that popped in my head while I took a break.

Will post the next chapter of 'Your dark Shadows' this weekend x

A: Samyuktha, we did it! Intha naalukaaga than ah namma ivlo naal wait pannitu irunthom. Can you believe it? Yennoda first project periya success ma. Romba happy ah iruku.
(Samyuktha, we did it! This is the day we have been waiting for so long! Can you believe it? My first movie is a blockbuster. I am over the moon)

Ashwin moved forward to take her in a hug which she returned with the same enthusiasm. She was on the verge of breaking down because of the constant begging to convince her family to be patient for Ashwin to be successful in his career. This was great news. A much needed news for the couple.

He pulled away from the hug and looked at her with a smile on his face.

A: Vaa polaam.
(Let's go)

Samyuktha: Yenga polaam?
(Where are we going?)

A: Mama va paathu unga ponna ippove ennaku kalyanam panni kudungaanu demand panna poren.
(I want ask your dad for your hand in marriage! Right away)

Samyuktha smiled at the confidence with which he spoke about their marriage. She nodded and laid her head on his chest as he wrapped his arms around her waist kissing her forehead.

Samyuktha: Ashwin, I have waited 8 long years for this moment. I can't tell you how thrilled I am right now about everything.

A: I am happy too. And thank you for trusting in me and supporting me through this. You have pushed me to work harder when I myself had no hopes in my talent and luck. I can't thank you enough for standing by my side the whole time. I love you so much.

Samyuktha: I love you too Ashwin.

CUT!

Ashwin dropped his hand like he had touched filth and moved back instantly, keeping a good distance from his co-star. Samyuktha looked like an offended woman as she put her hands on her waist in exasperation.

Samyuktha: Director sir, intha payyan kuda naan intha padathuku apparom nadikave maaten.
(I don't want to be paired with this guy ever again)

People in the set laughed while an embarrassed Ashwin forced a small smile on his face.

Director Raj: Yen ma? Ivaru already oru super star aagarauthuku aana ari kuri ellame iruku. Athu yeppadi ivlo easy ah no sollita?
(Why would you say that? He has a great potential to become a superstar in the future. It will be a good opportunity!)

Samyuktha: Ippadi etho oru kevalamaana creature ah thodara maathri expression kudukaraaru. Ennake en mela doubt vanthiruchu. I go and check myself in the caravan after each shot. Do I look ugly? Do I smell bad? What have I done to make him feel disgusted?
(How do I stand his insults? The look on his face when he touches me! Like I am dirt! I sometimes doubt myself. I go and check myself in the caravan after each shot. Do I look ugly? Do I smell bad? What have I done to make him feel disgusted?)

A: Ayyo appadi illanga. Sorry, ungala insult pannala. Ithu ennoda nature.
(I am so sorry, I do not mean to insult you. This is how I am)

Samyuktha: Ashwin! Evlo thadava solarathu. I am not that old ,I am just 26! Vaanga ponga nu solla vendam. Nee, vaa, po pothum.
(Ashwin, how many times do I tell you? I am not that old, I am just 26! You can call me by my name, there is no need for this respect)

Everyone there laughed at Ashwin while he apologised again and choose to escape the situation by running off to his caravan with an excuse that he needs to call his mother.

Samyuktha: Paarunga abscond aagaratha! Intha manushannuku girlfriend iruka?
(Look at him! Does he have a girlfriend?)

Raj: We are not sure. He is so private that we don't know much about his personal life. But my assistants went out for dinner with him last weekend and came back with some gossip. They mentioned that they overheard him talking to his mother. Looks like they have found a girl for him and that he is okay to get married to whoever his family finds suitable.

Samyuktha: What! Sounds boring!! What about the girl from the show he was on? I thought they were a couple or something.

Raj: They used to be good friends. Maybe they still are close friends. I don't think there is anything beyond that. And even if there is, there is no way to find out. His close circle is very protective of him and his image. So there is no way anyone will disclose it.

Samyuktha: Fallen out, have they?

Samyuktha sounded curious.

Raj: Maybe! He maintains a good friendship with some of his co-stars but draws a line there which isn't bad. He makes sure that his name stays out of the gossip columns.

Samyuktha: I can see that. He hasn't even taken my phone number even after 2 months of shooting together. Strange!

Raj: There is nothing strange about it. He is simply not fascinated by the idea of  flirting and encouraging women.

Samyuktha: Exactly! His aloof behaviour makes me feel insecure. It is not that I am interested in him, but when a handsome man ignores your good looks, it makes you unsure about yourself. I don't like that feeling. I hate Ashwin for making me feel self conscious.

Raj: Come on! He is a darling. Don't make him look arrogant. You are an upcoming actor and a good friend. So take my advice on this. Stay away from that man if he ignores you. He has a very loyal fan following who hero worships this man to believe in any of the stupid rumours about him.

Raj wasn't a very close friend to Ashwin but he respected him. In his opinion, Ashwin was a pure soul, someone who was very straight forward, righteous and bold about his strong opinions. He was lucky and deserving to have gained a huge fandom who loved him for his personality and guileless attitude. But he sure had a lot of jealous people in the industry waiting for the first available opportunity to pull him down. The media hated his need for privacy and was watching his every move and dissected every word he uttered to get him on a Page 6 news.

Ashwin overhead the conversation as he walked out of his caravan towards his car and wondered why his choice of lifestyle was a topic of discussion for someone who wasn't part of his life. He was fed up with everyone trying to get a glimpse into his life choices.

RJ Salim: Ashwin bro, screen la mattum illa nerlayum sema smart ah irukeenga bro.
(Ashwin, you look super smart not just on screen, but even in person)

A: Achachoo, thank you. You look good too.

RJ:  Thank you! So sollunga, life yeppadi iruku?
(Thank you! So tell me, how is life?)

A: Romba nalla ah iruku.
(Life is good)

RJ: Super. So what are you upto these days?

A: Ippo than ennoda third movie shoot mudinju dubbing process poitu iruku. And Elalrukkum therinju irukum. Director Raj ooda fifth movie la act pannitu iruken. So life is busy and pretty good.
(My third movie shoots are over and it is going through the post production work. And as you all know, I am doing Director Raj's fifth movie production right now. So life is busy and pretty good.)

RJ: Wow, sema! Seri unga professional updates ullagathuke theriyum. Aana konjam unga personal life enna nadakuthunu sollungalen?
( That's awesome! You have been very transparent about your professional life but we would be happy get some insight into your personal life)

A: There is nothing worth knowing about it.

RJ: Mysterious as always!

Ashwin laughed at their eagerness in learning about his life.

A: Serious ah. Ellarum maara naanum oru saatharna manushan than. Family, friends, avlo than. Special ah onnum illa.
(On a serious note, I am just like anyone else. Friends, family and the usual stuff. There is nothing different about my life)

RJ: Yenna brother ippadi solareenga! Namma Tamilnadooda heart throb. Unga kalyanam eppo nu sollunga. Neraya peroda idhayam odayattum.
(You are our Tamil cine industry's young heart throb. One piece of juicy information about your wedding plans will break a million hearts)

A: Ayyayo! Appadi ellam illanga. Naan nalla irukurathu pudikalaya?
(Oh god! Nothing of that sort. Don't you like the fact that I am single and happy?)

RJ: Seri seri. Romba tease panneetano? Vidunga. Neenga ethuku vanthiruka nalla vishayatha discuss pannalam.
(Alright, I don't want to tease you any further. Let us discuss why you are here today)

A: Well, I am here to promote 'Sponsor a child' programme.

RJ: Yes! Makkale, intha children's week la namma 'Sponsor a child' pathi unnagaluku solla vanthirukaar namma Ashwin.
(Yes! This is children's week and who better than our very own Ashwin to speak out 'Sponsor a child' programme)

A: Namma panara oru chinna help naala oru child ah save panna mudiyum. Athu unga naala mudinja kaasa donate panalaam, illa volunteering work ah irukalaam.
(Every little from our side has the potential to save a child. It can be in the form of money or volunteering or support

RJ: Yes, something everyone should consider doing.

A:This little bit from you can help them to a great extent. It helps many young minds. It can help feed their hunger, provide for their medical needs, make education a lot more accessible for the bright minds out there, help them grow their talents and so much more.

Ashwin was very glad that the radio jockey had finally managed to focus on why he was there. He left 30 minutes later after a full fledged conversation about supporting and helping children.

Ashwin was in low spirits as he drove from the interview he had given earlier. On any other day, he would have been happy with such a productive day but he felt lonely on this particular day, he wished he knew the reason for his grief. If only he had a special someone there to take care of him. He needed to know why he was feeling blue. His breathing was laboured. He was desperate for some magic. He made his mind as he accelerated the car towards his destination.

He parked his car and took the spare keys and walked dejectedly towards the door. As he was about to insert the keys, the door opened.

Kamalam: Ashwin thambi?

A: Kamalam ma?

K: Thambi, amma ayy..

A: Ennaku theriyum. Ellarum Singapore poirukaanganu theriyum. Ennaku romba tired ah iruku. Naan room ku poren. Neenga lock pannitu poidunga.
(I know that everyone has gone to Singapore. I am very tired so I will go upstairs. Please lock the door when you leave)

K: Sapateengala thambi?
(Have you eaten?)

A: Illa, aana paravaala. Avlo pasi illa.
(No, but it is okay. I am really hungry)

K: Illa thambi, neenga ready ayitu vaanga, naan dosa pottu vaikaren.
(It is okay, why don't you refresh while I make dosa for you?)

A: Illa Kamala ma, ennaku vendam.
(No, I am good, thanks)

K: Seri, naan konjam paal maatum eduthitu varen.
(Alright, I will bring some milk).

Kamalam closed the bedroom door behind her, after leaving the glass of milk on the side table. She reached for her phone to make a call. When the person on the other end answered the call, Kamalam told them about a sad Ashwin visiting their almost empty house at 9 pm.

K: Amma? Reach ayiteengala? Ashwin thambi vanthirukaar.
(Have you reached? Ashwin is here)

..

K: Romba tired ah irunthaar parkarathukku. Sapaadu vendaamnu solitaar, athunaala paal mattum vachitu vanthiruken.
(He looks very tired. He refused to eat so I left him a glass of milk)

...

K: Ahn, konjam koopitu pesa sollunga. Naan ippo veetuku kelamburen, naalaiku kaalaila vanthu parkaren ma.
(Yes, please call him. I am leaving now. I will come back tomorrow to check on him.)

Ashwin lay on the bed wide awake, hugging the pillow tight. He kept tossing and turning as sleep refused to take over his exhausted form. He looked at his phone for the hundredth time from morning.

His phone rang right then and he picked it without looking at the name.

Ashwin!

His home, his happy place! The voice on the other end relived all the sorrow and tension from his body. He felt his heart fill with love and happiness. He stretched himself on her bed and his hands crushed her pillow as he inhaled her scent from it. This is what he needed. Her voice, her words of encouragement and consolation, her eyes, her tiny fingers in his hair, her warm hugs, her lips on his, her very presence! He needed her. Badly! He wasn't sure how he can manage without her for the next week.

Sivaangi ma! Yeppo varuva enkita?
(Sivaangi, when will you come back to me?)

Hope you all liked it x.
