I envied Ash. I mean he has such great people around him. I was enjoying their bicker when my phone pinged. I pulled it out to find a text message from Sammy.

RED MODE.

I slowly got out of my chair and gestured to Ash that I'm going outside to take the call. I rushed outside and dialed Sammy's number. 

"Dammit. Why ain't she picking up?" I cursed, furiously tapping my right foot impatiently. When she didn't pick after several attempts, I tried Ren's number, he picked up on the second ring.

"What took you so long?!" I shouted furiously.

"Why are you yelling, blockhead?!" Sammy howled from the other side.

"S-Sammy, why do you have his phone?"

"It's not important right now. There's big trouble. Come here asap." With that, she hung up.

"Hello, hello!"

"Dammit!" I punched the wall in frustration. A girl passing by flinched and stared at me.

"Sorry," I mouthed. She nodded and walked away. Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself. 

Why is she so annoying? She did not even tell me what's wrong, just come as soon as possible.

There's trouble. I need to go back to find out.

I ordered to pack four sandwiches and four smoothies.

"We need to go."

"What's wrong Sam?" Ash asked concerned, as I approached him. I guess it's visible on my face. I just dragged him as I wasn't in the mood to talk.

"Sam-"

"Just start the car. We will know after we arrive there." He nodded though I can tell he is not happy with my reply.

"Ren's house. Drive as fast as you can." He ignited the engine and put the car in reverse. With one swift turn, he raced the car in Ren's house direction.

I am not good at driving so I avoided driving and in situations like these, I am the worst.

I can tell he is eager as he kept glancing in my direction, his eyes searching for any hints to know what's going on.

How can I tell you when I don't even know, myself?

Ren's house came into view and he slowed the car. I didn't wait for him to stop the car as I jumped out of the car and flung open the door.

"What happened Sammy?" Four pairs of eyes turned towards me. Ren was squeezed between Sammy and Linda. He let out a sigh of relief and escape from them.

"Thank goodness, you are here." Ren wiped the sweat from his forehead, his face flushed.

Well, he is a sucker when it comes to girls.

"Is everything alright?" Ash muttered from behind.

"We were waiting for you, Ash." Linda and Sammy walked towards him and clung to each of his arms. He gazed at me, silently asking me what's going. 

'What the hell is just happening?' I didn't realize I had said it via telepathy until Ren spoke up.

'Calm down, man.'

'Why the fuck didn't you pick up my phone?!'

'Because your beloved sister and her friend along with her boyfriend abruptly seized my house.' Ren said each word slowly apparently unhappy about it.

'Hey, I didn't do anything.'

'Yeah dude, that's your fault you didn't do anything,' Ren said rather sarcastically.

I glanced at him. ' Who is he now?'

'He is my boyfriend, Zane.' Linda squeaked cheerily, jumping from her place.

It was then my gaze fell on Ash, who was sitting between Linda and Sammy or more like caged between; munching on the chocolate with a tranquilized expression on his face.

Then I realized we are talking via telepathy and he doesn't know what we are talking about.

'Damn you brat, I ain't saying anything doesn't mean you can go on with your shit,' Sammy growled, yanking me by my collar.

'And what was that? Yeah, fucking Red Mode On. You should have better typed Crazy Mode On.'

'You son of a-' She was about to punch me when Ash caught her hand.

"Enough." He said in a dominating yet calm voice. He looked up, his gaze piercing which can even cut stones. I swear I felt chills down my spine. I guess it's not only me who felt it. Sammy backed a step while Ren and Linda flinched.

"Take it easy, man." Zane finally decided to pull his butt off the sofa.

"I'm taking it easy for a while now."

"Alright, man." He raised his hand in surrender.

I have never seen Ash like this. Well, there's much to learn about him. He let out an exhausted sigh. "I'm leaving."

"W-Wait!" Linda yelled and grabbed his arm.

"Look, I'm not interested in watching a movie with no audio." Linda stared at him frowning. I guess no one realized.

I huffed, "Sorry bud. We didn't realize we were talking via telepathy. It's my fault."

"What?! We were talking via telepathy this whole time!" Linda screamed astonished by the information.

'Shitty vampires, he is damn hot,' Sammy muttered smirking, her eyes sparkling with adulation. She is probably drooling over him. Well, he is someone to drool over.

'No doubt.'

'Linda.' Zane glared at her while Ren and I glanced at each other.

"Wait, Ash." Linda again stopped him.

"I'm tired. I ain't in the mood to play around."

"But-" Linda was about to say something but Zane interrupted her.

"It's alright. We'll talk tomorrow." They both shared a look, an understanding passed between them and she nodded in agreement.

"Alright, tomorrow after school." He nodded and like that left.

"Did something happen?" Ren asked scrutinizing me, looking for any clues.

"No, nothing!" I said with the shake of my head.

"He was fine and was smiling just a while ago. I guess he got offended as we were communicating via telepathy."

"I guess so too." Ren gushed, heaving a sigh as he slumped on the couch.

"Hey, wait! Why didn't you take him in?" Linda grumbled narrowing her eyes at me?

"Because I can't."

"What do you mean by that?" Zane chirped in sounding suddenly interested.

"Let me fill you in." Sammy then told them about that incident with dad and they listened to her with utmost interest.

"He is perfect for that work," Zane stated grinning creepily.

"Hey, what work?" Ren and I asked at the same time.

"We'll tell you tomorrow. See ya later."

"That's not fair," I whined, crossing my arms.

"Nothing is fair in this world." She muttered smirking.

I collapsed on the couch in despair.

Those jerks ruined my evening.
