He looked down and jotted in his notebook with duets whirling in his head tormenting him.

"You're twenty one and a soloist, isn't that a sign to you?" Katia stood over him again with her soulmate James. 

"Hmmm" James kissed her neck and sang something in her ear, Mitch didn't even want to know since she practically jumped him afterwards. 

"Please just leave me alone. I've got chemistry classes to go to" He walked through the hall humming his own theme tune and sighed. "This is my science love song..." Mitch sat down at the corner table and looked at the board. 

"Look it's a lonely little solo

Look it's a virgin little freak

Never part of any crowd always alone

Thinks he's smart but no he's just a geek" The taunting melody continued as a new guy ran in, crashed into the table and dropped everything over the surface.

"Sorry! I am so sorry!" He looked up at Mitch through half inch thick glasses, scrabbling for his papers as Mitch laughed gently 

"It's fine!" He picked them up and let him sit next to him facing the board.  

"Greg"

"A place to start our chemical bond" Greg froze and looked at him as Mitch sang the next line hesitantly 

"A research endeavour." They sang simultaneously 

"We can write the conclusion together" 

"You're my..."  Well... ok then. Greg sang 

"We can take it fast or really slooooooooooooooooooooooooooow" He watched Mitch giggle and smiled. Soulmates....
