04 || Mr.Winston is Hogging my Girlfriend
"Dallas, I can't," I roll my eyes.
He chuckles, "now why not love?"
"Because, I'd make a fool out of myself," I sit down.
"No you won't," Dally speaks. "Would I ever steer you in the wrong way?"
"Is this a trick question?" I chuckle.
He shakes his head, "no, Ava, Pony has a thing for you."
"Whatever," I roll my eyes. "We can be just friends for now."
"At least go to the Curtis house with me," Dally grabs my hand.
I go to pull back, but he looks at me and I calm down, "okay, I trust you."
He smiles as he leads me inside, "see, it's nothing.
I think Dallas and I always had an interesting relationship. We always had each other's back and would do anything for each other. It's just how far we'd go to help each other that's not us, but other people would question.

"So," Pony smiles over at me.
I slap him playfully, "don't be awkward."
He looks around us and laughs, "this is awkward."
"I blame Dallas," I sigh as I look around this is barely a date. We're sitting at his kitchen table with candles all around the room and Sodapop serving us.
Pony nods, "I'm sorry, this sucks."
I shake my head trying to make his feel better, "it's not absolutely terrible."
"Yes it is," he sighs.
"Okay," I chuckle. "Maybe just a little bit."
He nods, "it's okay."
"No, it's not," I whine as I grab his hand. "It's not you."
"Thanks," he sighs as he stands up.
"Ponyboy please," I plead as I stand up.
He blows out a few candles, "no, this was really a bad idea."
I grab his arm spinning his around and pressing my lips against him. As we pull away I look at him, "I'm so sorry!"
"Don't be," he breathes heavily as he pulls me in for another kiss.
"Ha-" Sodapop starts then stops abruptly. "Oh, sorry, never mind then."
As we pull apart we both chuckle, "so..."
He slaps me playfully, "what happened to awkward?"
"Stop!" I yell as I blush.
He chuckles, "so...are we a thing?"
I shrug, "I don't know. Are we?"
"Yeah," he smiles as he nods pulling me in for a hug.
"So, we're official," I laugh.
"Officially official," he jokes.
I hug him as I laugh, "why can't I stop laughing?"
He starts laughing too, "why can't I?"
"I don't know," I laugh.
"Okay," he tries to calm himself down. "Okay. Ava!"
I chuckle, "Ponyboy!"
He smiles and goes to say something, but then Dally walks in, "okay kids, calm down before things get out of control. With all this laughing, nobody knew what was going on."
"Ewe!" I shriek. "Not on the first date Dallas."
"Well we didn't know that...Now did we Avery?" He jokes.
"Oh shut up," I roll my eyes. "Mr.I set up Ponyboy and Avery on the most awkward date ever."
He rolls his eyes back at me, "without me, you two wouldn't even be together."
"Okay...okay, I'll give you that," I sigh as I give in.
Dally smiles, "now lets all hit the movies to end this night."
That was how everything started. Ponyboy, Dallas, and Avery. Those three names should now never be put in the same sentence. Those three names are all so interesting and put together it can only be called for disaster.

"Okay now Mr.Winston," I joke as we walk down the street with Pony and Johnny.
"What Mrs.Curtis?" Dally snickers.
Pony rolls his eyes before whispering to Johnny, "these two."
"I know," Johnny jokes.
Dally and I both turn to Johnny and Ponyboy, "excuse me Mr.Cade and Mr.Curtis. Do you have any complaints?"
"Yes actually," Pony speaks. "Mr. Winston is hogging my girlfriend."
Dally rolls his eyes, "well excuse me."
"Just give me back my boyfriend," I roll my eyes.
Dally walks over next to Johnny, "love birds huh?"
Ponyboy grabs my hand, "that's better."
Johnny looks over at me, "so Ava, are you coming to the movies with us or are you gonna hang at the house with the gang later on tonight?"
"Probably hang out with you guys at the movies," I shrug.
Johnny smiles sweetly, "that's good."
"Yeah," I smile back. I've grown to love Johnny. He's my best friend.
Pony turns to me and pecks my lips. As we pull apart I cock my head to the side, "what was that for?"
He shrugs, "just because, I have the prettiest girlfriend in all of Tulsa."
I blush as I look down, "stop, you're making me blush."
"What's wrong with blushing?" Johnny asks.
"It's embarrassing," I look over to him.
He mumbles something that I can't hear, but Ponyboy looks over to him with warning eyes, "what ya talking 'bout Johnny?"
Johnny shushes Ponyboy, "Pony, can we not do this right now?"
"Can we?" Pony asks back to Johnny.
Dally pulls the boys close to him and whispers something then pushes them back in line, "you two understand me?"
"Yup," they both say at the same time.
I look over at the boys who are smiling nervously, "will somebody please tell me what is going on?"
"Sorry,"Johnny looks down.
Pony leans over and pecks my cheek, "don't worry about it my love."
I smirk, "you're annoying. You know that right?"
"You love me though," he chuckles.
I shove him jokingly, "love? I'm not sure if I'd go that far. We just met."
He smiles, "whatever."
"I love a girl I just met," Johnny mutters.
I walk over to Johnny and smile, "who's the lucky girl?"
"Ain't so lucky," Johnny sighs as he kicks a pebble.
I roll my eyes, "I beg to differ."
"You do?" He smiles as he looks over to me.
"You're great Johnnycakes, any girl would be lucky to my have my best friend as their boyfriend," I smile at him. "You and this girl can double with Pony and I."
"Yeah," Pony smiles. "Best friend."
Johnny sighs, "yeah because, we're all only best friends......well minus you and Pony."
I smile at the boys, but the tension in the air is palpable.
This was the start of a weird thing once again. It was me, Johnny, and Ponyboy, but it you were to throw Dallas in there the only word to use would have to be complicated. I never understood how those three were friends. I never understood how I got thrown into their friendship and what I meant to them, but the four of us were inseparable. We were best friends.
Okay, so you can tell there's some tension between the three boys. The only question is why? Stay gold. Do it for Johnny!
