Thad was still damaged after what Gotham's Vigilante did to him even after his physical injuries healed. Constantly haunted by nightmares, paranoid and afraid of the Bat returning to finish the job and being abandoned by his father for 'weakness' made it worse. His powers didn't work, small hiccups with the Speed Force turning to total failure and problems.. He ended up admitted to Arkham.. Little therapy, minimal needs for survival and treatment and terrors that left him begging for help. You were his only visitor. 

No one believed him when he said the Batman, visited him, looking down at him as a reminder of what happened. Constantly in the middle of night. That it was part of his Reign of Terror, over Gotham.. Until one day you stumbled upon it.

" No one...there's not a person who would miss me...." You were treating him, asking him questions about his past his family when he answered quietly.. 

One night Thad raced out of his cell, running through the security and the glass overlooking the cliff. In front of your horrified eyes he jumped landing quickly from the harsh drop and sinking.. Like all of the Staff, the GCPD believed he took his own life.... Months later a vigilante appeared.. In grey and black more efficient than the Bat ever was...  Talon.  But it was like he was trying to get back at someone, like he hated the entire city yet he fought for it. Gloating, glaring mocking others.  But refusing to fight out of anger. 

You were walking with a friend when the gang came out of the shadows.. They were the sickest individuals to appear from the narrows, doing things not out of pure profit but sadism.. The moment they touched you they were attacked by a blur hit them till their blood splattered on his face, and hands.  At your horror he rolled his eyes." Your welcome.." 

"Your the only connection I ever had......" For everyone in Gotham all there was in his tone, in his treatment was hatred, annoyance except for you.. It wasn't that hard to piece together why to n.figure out who was Talon

"How about you go to hell?" He threw the criminal through the window watching them hit the pavement." Say High to Wayne for me.."

" I know it's not real but it's what I always wanted! To let him die, let him be weak and alone just like me!" Thad explained when you saw his fantasy of the Dark Knight buried under rubble asking for help Thad putting  his foot on his neck. 

" This is my revenge on the Dark Knight, on all who just watched me suffer. For my father who took off the moment I was caught and hurt...I'm changing Gotham, protecting it until they're forgotten! I'll be the hero, the one who did what they never could." 

"I made a vow to never become like him."

"I have to tell you something..."

"I killed Bruce Wayne's daughter..... Bruce made sure the story wasn't made public, to make everyone think she was killed in a robbery... When it was me..my father told me she had to go.... I didn't make him go over the edge, the Batman was already too far gone. She hated his guts but she was the one thing he cared about in the entire world..... He was already a monster, I had my orders but it doesn't excuse what I did. She was a little older than me... She died alone without a friend in the world.."

"In the asylum I started seeing her... When I put on my costume she's right there watching me. Sometimes she's making jokes, sometimes she's telling me to not give up. She doesn't hate me... I keep hallucinating her and nothing work. Like she's a conscience...."
