Chapter 12
Temah Amoah's POV.
It is Monday morning and I'm up early, my mind still spinning from the gala's events.
I feel my cheeks flush, as I remember the heated look in Douglas' eyes, when I pulled away from Bryce's platonic hold.
He looked jealous.
And when he hauled me just outside of the event, to finally admit his behaviour, even if he was slightly drunk.
But today is a new day!
He will probably have forgotten everything he said and things will go back to normal.
I take a shower, brush my teeth and get myself dressed, before heading out.
When I get to work, things go on as usual and I meet Bryce in the common room.
He noticed me and smile light up his face.
"Hey, short stuff, you still up for tonight?" He asks, handing me a cup of coffee that he has already made the way I like it.
I thank him and then groan a little.
"You mean third-wheeling you and Crystal at the club? Yeah it gets less and less appealing the more I think of it." I tell him.
He pouts and gives me his best puppy dog eyes.
"But... besides my brother, you're my work bestie!" He whines.
I roll my eyes.
"But you two are gonna be joined at the lips all night and I'm gonna be sat there looking like a freak." I complain.
He grabs my hand.
"I'll be your wingman!" He exclaims, making a couple of people look at us warily.
"You're gorgeous and all the men will be all over you!" He says excitedly.
I'm just about to respond, when we hear someone clear their throat.
I almost snap my neck, to look at who did and to my shock, I see Douglas standing in the doorway.
The whole room falls quiet, his dominance overpowering the whole room.
He leans on the doorway, his eyes never leaving my frame and then they flick to my hand, which is still enveloped in Bryce's huge hand.
Bryce drops my hand like he's been scalded and his eyes never leaving his brother.
"Miss Amoah, my office please" He says, before walking off towards it.
I look at Bryce, who smiles sheepishly.
"I guess we'll talk about this later?" He asks and I nod, sighing.
I put my mug down and walk out of the room, while people's sympathetic and curious glances follow me.
I approach the door of his office and take a deep breath trying to steel my nerves.
I knock twice and let out a breath.
"Come in" He says.
I open the door and enter the office.
He sits on the front of his desk, a glass of water in one hand as he sips it and the other hand, gripping the desk so tightly, I'm scared he'll turn it to splinters.
When I close the door, he looks up, eyes settling on my face.
Silence.
"Me Coleman, I- -" I start to say but he cuts me off as he stands up and walks behind his desk, sitting in his seat, making it groan with his weight.
"C'mere" He says lowly.
I walk up to him, like a doe on its new legs.
I stand beside him and he swivels in his chair so that he is facing me.
He looks up at me.
"What's going on between you and my brother?" He asks.
"Nothing is going on" I say confidently.
"Yeah?" He asks, looking up at me and searching my face for any signs of a lie.
I nod my head yes.
His eyes trail down my face, to my neck, my breasts and then to my waist.
It is then that I realise that his face is directly inline with my hips and I feel my face heat up, as he smirks at the realisation.
His eyes stop at my hips for some time and then he grabs my wrist, pulling me into his lap, me squeak in suprise.
"Good" He says, circling his muscular arms around my waist.
He presses his face into my neck and I feel my pulse quicken.
"I don't like to share" he groans and I press my legs together as his smooth baritone vibrations course through my body, reaching all the way down to my core almost painfully.
He chuckles gauging my reaction.
"What makes you think I'm yours to share?" I ask, raising a brow.
He shrugs.
"If you're not mine now, I guarantee that you will be later." He responds almost casually and my mouth drops open.
"Go to dinner with me tonight" he says, trailing kisses up my neck and then behind my ear, catching my sensitive spot.
I bite my lip slightly.
"Isn't it bad for your image, for you to be caught going on dates with your assistant?" I ask.
Obviously I want to go! But I have to take control of the situation!
Think rationally!
"Hm, I beg to differ" he responds.
"Wanna elaborate?" I ask.
"No" He says with a smirk and I roll my eyes.
"Please?" I ask, pouting a little and he grunts.
"That won't work" he says.
I look at him with even softer eyes and he sighs, his resolve weakening.
"All that you need to know, Temah is that although I don't usually mix business with pleasure, I'm willing to make an exception, with you" he tells me.
"Fine, you can take me out" I say 'nonchalantly' despite the fact that I'm buzzing inside.
A bright smile lights up his face.
"I'll pick you up at 7:30" He says.
"Very specific, Mr Coleman" I say, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm a man of precision." He says.
"You'll either find that out or I'll show you" He says, with a wicked smirk, slowly making its way onto his perfect lips.
He will not make me look like I'm as awestruck as I am!
I lean towards him as if I'm going to kiss him and he stays perfectly still, his eyes finding my lips as he bites his own, willingly.
At the last moment, I move slightly and plant a soft kiss on his jaw, inhaling his masculine scent and then pulling away and quickly getting off of his lap.
I look into his eyes and see that they are aflame with lust and want.
His jaw is set and I see a trace of amusement and determination on his lips.
Welp.
"I'll see you in the evening, Mr Coleman" I say sweetly, before walking out of his office confidently, my hips swaying and my head held high.
As soon as I close the door, I breath out and remember what I just agreed to.
I'm going on a date, with my boss!
"What have I gotten myself into..." I mutter.
————————————————
Hey all!
What do you think will happen at their date?
And has anyone got any suggestions as to what she should wear....?
Until next time.
