my masterpiece was finished.
the strokes of yellow and green clung tightly to the canvas, the paint slowly hardening with each growing second.
i was ready to see her again.
swinging the canvas under my arm, i snatched my jacket and raced outside, my heart pounding rapidly against my chest.
anticipation sweated through the palms of my hands as i ran to her house, the canvas slipping in my grip.
as i approached her house, my knuckle bounced off the front door.
the screen door creaked open and behind it stood the person i wanted to see the most.
"cole?" she questioned, her blue eyes locked on the canvas.
"hey," i breathed, a lazy smile on my face.
i was overjoyed to see her.
"what do you have there?"
"i painted you flowers."
i handed her the small canvas, a shy smile appearing on my lips.
she took it and gazed down at it.
"cole, this is beautiful," she breathed, clutching the canvas close to her chest.
"that's not all," i said with a grin.
her eyebrows raised as i shoved a hand into my pocket, and pulling out a piece of paper.
i couldn't contain my happiness.
"you ever been on a scavenger hunt?"
