Reader P.o.v

I turned around away from the crowd. He really was gone. I turn to face him one more time and we make eye contact. He stopped dancing and glared at me.
I turnes around again and hung my head down. I again was alone. I start walking until a random clown grabs me and pulls me into a ally way..
"Arthur!!" I scream and the guy pushed me into a corner.
The man pulls out a knife and puts it in my mouth. "You look so sad. Why dont we put a smile on that face?" He question and slit my mouth. I screamed as the red liquid filled my mouth.
I looked as the man ran away and i fell to the Ground as Arthur stood above me and kneeled down to look into my eyes.
"I love you Y/n." I reached up and rested a hand on his face when everything went black

*time skip*

I woke up in a white hospital room with a door with no handle.
I looked in the mirror and just like my dream i could see my face stitched together into a smile.
I fell to my knees crying and a doctor comes in.
"Miss please get into your bed." I stood up crying and laid in bed. "You will be taken to the lunch room at 12 and therapy at 3." She adds.
"Whats going on?" I question.
"You know Arthur Fleck and after the killing there making you stay here with him. They saw your face and the cuts on your body and figured you were mently ill like him."
I looked down. Im stuck in here because of him now.
"Lunch is in 1 hour. Someone will come in to walk you down and if you attack anyone you will be put in a room alone and given your lunch for 1 month." She says and I nod. She leaves me alone and i stare at the wall.
I wished I could go back and have met Arthur Years ago. Ive only known Arthur a few months. Maybe if i got a head start we could have been together. I could have helped him. We would be married. A little boy or girl.
I was pregnant. I didnt get to tell him. I almost had enough money to leave this town. We could have went together. We could have been happy.
I sigh and flip on the tv and watch some cartoons. I needed to get my mind off things right now.
After a while a man walks in
"Im here to walk you down for lunch." He says awkwardly and I get up and follow him to the lunch room. The hallways were all bright white. We passed my other room doors and i walked to the lunch room. It was filled with people. Some acted normal. Some acted crazy and some just had a detached look on there face. I grab my food and sit alone at a table and read a book a brought from my room. I felt like I was in middle school again. Alone reading. Im such a nerd. I look next to me as none other than Arthur fleck sits next to me.
"Hi.." He says and fiddles with his hands.
"Hello Arthur."
"My name isnt Arthur its Joker."
"I dont speak to joker I only speak to Arthur. But hes gone now. His promises broke. And me? Im alone. So if he comes back? Im here for him. You I will never speak to." I throw most of my roof away then walk back to my room Joker watched with his mouth open as if he wanted to speak but couldnt.
He left me. So i dont want to keep loving him like i do anymore. He killed so many good people. Sure. Thomas Wayne is now dead since he got shot in the street. But there little boy is now all alone with no parents. I go to my room and lay in bed reading. It wasnt to bad in here. You get a place to live. Warm food. Its more than i could say for my life before all of this.
But before I had Arthur. I find my bag they gave me from my house and set a picture of us on my nightstand. Now that was Arthur. That man today wasnt my Arthur. I curl up in bed a doze off for a while

*time skip*

I woke up and jumped back in my bed as a man stared at me. I flick my light on to see joker.
"What are you doing here?" I question and he shrugs.
"Your just still so peaceful when you sleep arent you darling?" He smirks.
I huff. "I dont want to be around you."
He frowns. "Even if I said I Was little old Arthur again. Your Arthur?" He questioned and I shook my head.
"No. Arthur gave me this ring." I point to my finger. "And he then threw it all away. We cant get married and the baby im pregnant with? They dont even have there dad here anymore." His eyes grow wide and he reaches up and sets a hand on my stomach.
"Im so sorry Y/n.. I didnt know.. I woul-"
"Would have what Arthur? A kid would make me matter more to you? Your promised you would never leave me. You promised we would move and be happy forever. We cant do that now. You killed 5 people Arthur! Your never getting out of this place and if i cant before the babys born there gonna take him away because im crazy. This smile they carved into my face? It was because of you. I loved you so much but you broke me. And now ive given up." I whipser and turn my head not to face him.
He hugs me and rubs my back and i cry into his shoulder.
"Im still gonna give you the life I promised. I swear. If we break out and go far away and I gain a normal persons body weight I'll look so different. We can change our last names or something. I love you and im gonna try and make this all work out." He says and I look up at him and sniffles. He pecks my lips softly .
"Arthur with the scars everyone will know who i am." I sigh and he looks down.
"If you want surgery we can get it for you. I have some money now from my followers. They can help this all work out. We find a doctor to fix you up well i get on a all fast food diet and we change out ids and names after. I dye my hair back and we can move on. We can act like this never happened." I strokes the hair out of my face.
"Promise?."
"I promise"
