My girl - Part 4 - Joker x Reader
I am so very sorry that this has taken so long for me to finish. I hope that you forgive me and enjoy.
"You don't scare me." (Y/n) said with a chuckle, as she stared wide eyed at the figure that sat across from her, just watching her rock herself backwards and forwards on her chair. Her hands covering her ears in a vain attempt to keep out the disembodied voices that had been bombarding her for weeks.
As much as she had tried to fight. As much as she had felt herself disappear. There was nothing that she could do in the end. Without Arthur to help her, as much as she had helped him, things had begun to unravel. And now, now there was nothing to hold the demons at bay.
"I can do anything; you know that don't you." (Y/n) giggled, as she got up from her chair and danced around her apartment, the man doing nothing more than smiling at her, as she spun and twirled.
Under normal circumstances (Y/n) would have known that the figure across from her was a figment of her imagination. One of the ghosts that haunted her mind and only appeared when things got bad; and now things were bad. (Y/n) was being bombarded by sights and sounds that she could no longer control, her medication long out of her system. The manic episode taking control of her entirely. She was on top of the world and had no desire to come down.
It had been weeks since she had met Joker in Arthur's old apartment. Weeks since she had heard his confession and his pledge, and weeks since she had begun to tumble down into a dark hole. A dark hole from which there seemed no chance of return. But now she no longer cared, she liked this hole. She didn't need to sleep, she had accomplished all she wanted to do, and she had come up with a scheme to get the one thing she wanted. The one thing she had wanted for so long. But now that Arthur was gone, she had turned her sights on Joker.
"And do you know what I am going to do now?" (Y/n) asked, as she stopped dancing and looked at the silent man in the chair. The hallucination shaking his head and waiting for her to explain.
"I'm going to become a clown. (Y/n) the clown. But not a clown like Carnival was. No, no, no............ A killer clown, just like Joker." (Y/n) declared with another giggle. The young woman darting over to her chair, producing a small handgun from under the cushions, and pointing it at the dark figure.
"I am going to find Joker. And if anyone gets in my way.......BANG! Just like Joker did to that idiot, Murray. And you.......well you are going to be the first." (Y/n) explained. A single bullet speeding through the barrel as she pulled on the trigger. (Y/n) laughing out loud, as the man suddenly disappeared.
"Now, to complete the transformation." (Y/n) said, as she turned to look at herself in the mirror. Arthur's girl skipping, as she made her way into the bathroom.
>>---------------------------------<<
Joker was growing concerned. He had been getting reports from his followers ever since the night she had handed him the picture. (Y/n)'s behaviour, according to the men observing, was becoming more and more erratic as the days passed. Joker knew all too well the signs of a manic episode, Arthur had had more than his fair share, but he had only ever seen (Y/n) have one once before. And it had ended with him having to talk her down from the ledge of the apartment building. Arthur hating himself, as he had called for an ambulance. The clown knowing that she would be kept in Arkham until her condition stabilised. Yet now, that was not an option. And he knew that despite what had happened between them. What they had said. He was going to have to go and find her. To bring her back to his new home, and care for her until she could work through the episode. And he would do that whether she liked it or not. Joker determined that he would not let the voices and monsters in her mind, take her from him.
"BOSS!" A man shouted out, as he came rushing through the door to the room. Joker growling under his breath at the sudden intrusion, knowing that the mask wearing follower better have a good reason for disturbing him.
"The........woman.............." The man spluttered. HIs words stopped, as the sound of gun fire and shouting could be heard.
"What the hell!?" Joker exclaimed, as he reached for his gun. The killer clown believing that the cops had finally come for him. The king of Gotham ready to go out in a hail of bullets, rather than be taken in.
"HI HONEY. I'M HOME!" A voice could suddenly be heard over the chaos. Joker looking out from his hiding place, as the familiar tone hit his ear.
"(Y-Y-Y/n)?" Joker asked softly to no one in particular. The question hanging heavy in the air, as yet another round of gunfire rang out.
"That.........that's what I was trying to tell ya, boss. It's that girl you had us follow. She........she's gone crazy." The huddled and cowering lacky explained from his own hiding place. Joker knowing that once he had found out what was really going on, he was going to kill the guy for daring to call his girl, crazy.
"COME OUT, COME OUT, WHEREVER YOU ARE!" (Y/n)'s voice came again. Joker standing up and straightening himself. Ignoring the continued jabbering's of the follower, as he made his way to the door. The clown knowing that he had to help (Y/n). That whatever was going on, he, in part at least, was to blame.
"Oh, there you are. Hi!" (Y/n) said, waving a little as she looked up the stairs. A broad smile spreading across her face, as she saw the man that she had come for. The breath catching in Joker's throat, as he looked upon the woman that was the cause of all the insanity that had taken over his safehouse. A safehouse that it was now obviously not so safe.
The clown couldn't believe his eyes. He had expected to see (Y/n) as she had always been, but that couldn't be further from the truth. The woman that was looking up at him, was, well, was a clown. Her face was painted white. The cupids bow and lower part of her lips were painted bright red and formed a little heart. Her cheeks were blushed with a vibrant scarlet hue, and her eyes covered by black diamonds. Her clothes proving just as unusual as her visage. Her form covered in what could only be described as an elaborate tutu. And despite everything that was going on, Joker had to admit that she looked beautiful. And as much as he had wanted (Y/n) as she had been. He wanted this (Y/n) even more. He wanted his clown queen.
"(Y/n)?!"
"Huh. How do I look? I think I'm pretty. Much better than I was before. I was boring then. I was like Arthur. Weak. But not now, I'm like you. Strong. And I'm not going to let anyone stop me from getting what I want." (Y/n) giggled gleefully, as Joker made his way down the staircase. The clown not failing to notice the gun in her hand, or the bodies that seemed to be lying around her.
"And what is it that you want, (Y/n)?" Joker asked, as he reached the bottom of the stairs, and made his way over to his girl.
"I want you, silly! I love my little Joker. And I want to be with him for ever, and ever and ever." (Y/n) explained, as Joker stopped before her. The new pretty clown, leaning over and kissing him on the lips.
"What about these guys?" Joker asked, as he looked at his dead followers. The clown finding that he didn't actually care what had happened to them, as (Y/n) snaked her arms around his neck and pressed her body firmly against his.
"I don't want them! Oh, yeah, I see what you mean. Well...........as I said, I wasn't going to let anyone stop me from getting what I wanted. And they dared to say that I couldn't see you. Sooooooooo, I had to, sort of, shoot them. But we can get more. Together we could find lots more of them. Together, we can do the most amazing things." (Y/n) cooed, as she jumped up, and wrapped her legs around Joker's waist. The killer clown holding onto her tight as she showered him in kisses.
"(Y/n) you're sick. We need to get you help. This isn't............"
"No! If this is sick, then I don't want to get better. This is the best that I have ever been. The old (Y/n) couldn't have Arthur. Then you killed him. So, I killed the old (Y/n), and now the new (Y/n) can have her Joker. You said in Arthur's apartment that you would make it all up to me for forgetting what you had promised. That you would always love me. That you would never leave me. So, now, you can make it all up to me. Now we can have all the things that the old (Y/n) and Arthur could never have. All you have to do is love me in return, and I will help you keep Gotham on its knees." (Y/n) interrupted, before crashing her little heart lips, into his broad painted grin. The killer clown knowing that he could never argue with (Y/n). Especially not now, as she had a gun in her hand. Joker far too happy to have his girl back in his arms to worry about anything else. To in need to have what Arthur was too much of a coward to take, to care about the madness.
"How could I say no to that?" Joker chuckled, as he carried (Y/n) up the stairs. Gotham having no idea, that what it had already been through, would be nothing compared to what it would suffer now that the Clown prince, had his girl.
