Hill of Tara + some ball stuff.

Hi. I drew another human because I have nothing better to do this Spring Break. I decided to do the old capital of the Kingdom of Meath, the Hill of Tara. Why? 1. I think you all know by now I am kinda obsessed with Irish history. 2. I was listening to a song, and it reminded me of this character anddd 3. I like sharing headcanons.

So now you may be wondering, what is the Hill of Tara? Well, you see, it was where the High Kings of Ireland had their coronations, and was known as the Seat of Kings. Some of the most famous high kings include Flann Sinna, Brian Boru, and Maelseachlainn II. (Interestingly enough, Flann Sinna has a game about him, which I find cool.) There is mythology surrounding it; for example, people thought it was the entrance to the otherworld, which is thought of how Gods entered the mortal realm. Another example would be the Stone of Destiny, which said that the stone would roar when the rightful High King touched it during their inauguration. There was also the story of the nine hostages, which I don't really want to get into, but let's just say a hand went bye-bye and created rivalry.

Now that I got the explanation out of the way, onto the art!

I know I added color. It's a miracle. I need new coloring pencils, though.

So I mainly based her design on Medieval Ireland art but also on a character from Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which I have never played. However, I watched the cut scenes because I looked up Flann Sinna, and that's what popped up.

So now, it's time for my favorite segment: headcanon time. You may have noticed the right eye is a little wonky, and there are flame-looking things in it. Well, in my AU, I decided to make Tara a seer. She basically always knew who the next high king would be. Also, she would receive visions of certain historical events that would occur. But she couldn't really tell anyone, so it's usually through riddles that she reveals these visions. The flames are a reference to the Burning of Luimneach, which is just something she foresees happening.  SO yeah. That's the headcanon.

NOW ONTO THE EVEN BETTER SEGMENT: BALLLLLLSSSS

Colony rivalry. My favorite. These two are some of my favorites: New Netherlands and New Sweden.

I actually did an entire research paper on these two last year. It was painful.

I had another thing. But I lost it somewhere.

Anyway, I am going to leave now cause I don't know what else to put here. Goodbye! (Or Slán as they say in Irish.)

Have a great day/night! :D
