Harps

SUP MY BRETHEREN.

HOW ARE YOU THIS FINE EVENING/MORNING?

I HOPE YOU ARE WELL.

Anyway, I have some art for you as usual!

The first one is based on another Crane Wives song, but I have a reason.

The new album is coming out on September 6th, so I am literally bouncing off the walls. They've only released three songs for their upcoming album: Scars (the one I did art on last week), Acturus Beaming (I did some art on this one a while back), and Bitter Medicine, which actually came out last month, but I didn't have any ideas until now.

So here is the art based on Bitter Medicine by the Crane Wives!

I am very proud of her design ngl-

BUT YEAH, THERE WE GO!

Munster is just getting a drink at the bar because why not?

I gave her little patches like Connacht to represent the counties and added the little red deer for a reason.

You will never guess who that's supposed to represent!

Now, I shall try taking a break from basing drawings on Crane Wives songs, but I cannot make any promises.

Now, I was watching a random video about some countries that no longer exist, so I drew three of the countries on the list.

Okay so our first one here as you may have guessed (Or not idk) is Neutral Moresnet

His existence is kind of Napoleon's fault, so uh... yeah.

I also added Belgium and the German Empire in the background. Moresnet was supposed to be a Belgian-Prussian condominium, but then WWI happened, and the German Empire kind of annexed it, though none of the allies recognized the annexation.

So yeah!

Kingdom of Sikkim!

There were two flags and honestly, the other one looked nicer; HOWEVER, I AM SORRY, BUT IT LOOKED TOO INTIMIDATING-

Maybe another day, I will draw the other flag.

I based the hat on a picture of the last king.

Now we have the amazing Free City of Danzig!

He... um.... is breathing air....

What did you want me to say, something else?

No.

Anyway, now we have our lovely Guts and Blackpowder x Countryballs!

This is one of the hardest maps and one of my favorites!

Berezina!

It's also the only holdout map because you must build a bridge to get to the other side while fighting off swarms of zombies.

The Kingdom of Bavaria is building while Munich has brought a log.

Meanwhile, the Frenchies (French Empire 1 and Paris, whose eyes just vanished) defend the bridge. Sorta.

And then there is a friendly little bomber coming over to say hello!

At some points in the map you have to fall back to the church so everybody did (Except Munich)

I wonder what happened to Munich..

Munich is fine though, guys!

100%

Trust me.

So finally, we have Bavaria suffering one of the terrible fates of the game: being infected!

Priests are the only ones in the game who can cure the infection and also can't get infected (because they are favorited)

Yeah, French Empire 1 will probably murder him, but oh well!

He will be fine..

At least they finished building the bridge!

:D

Ight so I do have some lore for you.

However, first I got a request for Character Headcanon Generator (Yeah it's back) and I hede to my requests so here it is:

(So I gave Spanish Empire another one cause I felt like this was just depressing)

SO that's all. I probably won't do any Character Headcanon generator stuff unless I plan on drawing it, which maybe cause I have ideas for a few...

But it also depends on what y'all want.

IGHT LORE TIME BECAUSE IK Y'ALL WANT YOUR LORE

Enjoy!

Leinster knew there were many ways to get rid of stress. Some people wrote, some people drew pictures, and some even went on walks outside. Leinster preferred music. Whenever she felt stressed, she would play the harp. It felt calming like all of her anxieties had melted away. Just feeling the strings vibrate and play their musical tune was refreshing. After the recent battle of Glenmama (which she lost and suffered the consequences), she desperately needed it.

Leinster was pretty sure Munster was going to be the death of her. He was getting on her nerves. First, there was the whole Osraige situation, which Leinster hated thinking about. Then, of course, he tried campaigning against her and other kingdoms, such as Meath (who she also hated). He did get defeated, though, so that wasn't much of an issue. Now, he had encroached upon her territory once more, in his words, subdued her land and was basically going on a power-hungry quest.

Leinster hated Munster a bit more every passing day. She had just returned to her land after being a hostage for a few days. Of course, though, now some of her cities were hostages instead, but as long as they weren't being murdered, she was fine with that. They would return soon once Meath and Munster agreed to send them back. It was their way of making Leinster 'repent' for revolting against them.

Leinster was now just in her room, sitting on a wooden stool and playing the harp. The gentle music and the feeling of plucking the strings calming her. It was relieving to think that something in the world could sound so peaceful. Nothing really mattered now at the moment—not Munster, not Meath, not anybody else on the island. The room was silent except for the sweet music coming from the harp. Light peaked into the room from the window, illuminating the room.

She almost completely forgot about everything and even her hatred for Munster until the door behind her opened. She paused, feeling slightly irritated that she was interrupted, and spoke, "Yes?"

The familiar voice of Ferns, her capital, answered, "Sorry for interrupting you Leinster but uh we have a visitor." She sounded a little uncertain, which caused her to have a guess of who this visitor was.

"Ferns, is it Munster?" She asked cooly, standing up and turning to face the capital. Ferns seemed nervous, but also it seemed like she was forcing herself to keep her composure. She just kept her hands behind her back and spoke once more,"Well, uh, yes. Yes it is."

Leinster observed that Ferns seemed to be a little cautious in her response, but Leinster knew why. She had complained about Munster a lot recently and also said a few things that could be considered mildly concerning. Ferns probably was hoping nothing bad would happen.

Leinster sighed. "Well then, thank you for letting me know."

She didn't look back; she just walked right past Ferns into the hallway where they stood, and soon enough, she was outside the castle where, as expected, Munster was.

He stood there, tossing what looked to be a rock up and down, catching it in his hand and then throwing it up again. He wasn't focused on it and was instead staring into the distance, seeming not to be focused on anything else.

"Munster," she said casually, keeping a blank expression on her face. He stopped playing with the rock and dropped it on the ground before turning to face her.

"Hello Leinster!" His voice was cheery and irritating to Leinster, as usual.

"What do you want?" she asked, choosing just to get right to the point instead of talking about other things that held no importance.

"How rude of you to assume I want something." He frowned slightly and looked a little offended.

"Well, usually, when you visit anybody, you want something, " she replied, crossing her arms. "So what is it? Gold?"

"I am sorry to disappoint you but I am not here for anything. Instead, I am here with a little gift." Munster regained his confident, cheery tone and smiled once more.

"A gift? After-" She didn't even get time to finish her sentence because he interrupted.

"Indeed! You see, I know you're still mad about Glenmama, so I thought I could give you a little gift. I guess you can consider it a peace offering, if you will." He paused, waiting to see if Leinster would respond. Once she didn't, he reached a hand into a pouch on his belt and pulled out something small.

It caused Leinster to narrow her eyes, wondering what he could possibly be giving her. He tossed the item to her, and she caught it. She gave him a suspicious glare before looking down. It was a little wooden carving of a harp, which had been colored yellow-goldish. It even had fake strings that seemed to be made out of some sort of silk. Little carvings, like knots and crosses, were also ingrained into it. She turned it around in her hand, admiring it slightly. It was very light and almost felt delicate. Finally, after moments of silence, she looked up.

"Did you make this?" she had a tone of interest now.

"Well, yes, but I had some help, specifically with ideas for the carvings and finding something for the strings," Munster replied, and he seemed very proud of himself.

"Impressive, " she replied, continuing to hold it in her hand and turning it over a couple more times. "Though, I am not sure I am going to let there be peace between us because of a tiny wooden carving."

"Eh, it was worth a shot." Munster shrugged, putting a hand on his side. "I also have one for Dublin though I am not excited to visit him for multiple reasons. One of which being that he'll probably throw it at my face."

"Well if that's all you can leave now. Good luck with your interaction with Dublin I guess." Leinster gave a small chuckle at his ending comment, holding out the carving and expecting him to take it back.

"You can keep that. I spent wayyyyy too long on that thing. I don't want it." He didn't raise his hands; he just stood there. Leinster retracted her hand with a small frown.

"Well, if this is supposed to be a peace offering, then why should I keep it? I am not making peace with you ever."

Munster sighed, "Well, if you don't want to think of it as a peace offering you can also consider it a token. Just in case I ever die! Which I don't think will happen soon, at least I hope not. But if I ever do you can remember me for the rest of your life!"

"What, do you really think I'd miss you if you died? Please if you died, I would be celebrating and wouldn't be thinking of this as a token. Otherwise I would burn it." Leinster added, rolling her eyes.

Munster had an expression on his face like he didn't believe it. "Yeah, we'll see about that. But like I said, keep it."

"Fine, fine, whatever, now get out before I consider sending you to the grave right now." Her tone immediately changed to demanding, pointing at the trees behind him.

He held up his hands, a look of slight surprise on his face, but he just smirked and said. "Alright then. Goodbye Leinster, I hope you may change your mind even though that is unlikely. Until we meet again!" He gave a little fake bow before turning and walking off back to the trees.

Leinster turned and entered her castle, staring down at the little carving in her hand. She hated Munster but still, the carving was impressive.

Also, it was a harp, and she liked harps.

Peace though?

Impossible. If I ever get a chance again, I WILL rebel. She thought to herself in a determined way. She paused in her tracks to stare at the little harp once more.

Maybe I will keep it after all. She decided to slip the harp into her pouch gently. Then she continued walking, happy that maybe she could play her harp in peace without any interruptions.

End.

This took a long time to write.

This isn't really based on history because, as far as I know, the kingdoms never actually tried making peace with one another; however, Glenmama actually happened, and there were hostages. But that's not the point.

So, like I usually ask, theories?

That wooden harp will be important in Leinster's lore later on sooooo hehehehhe.

You shall see what I mean if I do more KO. Leinster lore.

Well, I will give y'all a little fun fact: the Kingdom of Leinster taught Osriage and two others how to play the harp.

ONE OF THESE PEOPLE ARE VERY IMPORTANT.

Also, I should probably clarify that K.O. Munster likes creating little wooden carvings like the one he made for Leinster and the unnamed thing he made for Dublin.

That's all folks.

I am unsure of who I will do next again.

UNTIL NEXT TIME!

BACK TO THE HOLE I GO!

BYE BYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
