ten.
Jimin was half-asleep by the time Yoongi finished playing songs on the piano. His head was rested on the older boy's shoulder comfortably, eyes fluttered completely closed. He wanted to listen to the constant beauty of ravenette's music for the rest of his life, if he could, but all good things come to an end eventually.
Yoongi looked over at the half asleep boy, lips curving upwards faintly at the sight. He wouldn't admit it aloud but he already grown very fond of the younger boy next to him. He wanted to get closer to brunette and learn more about him, but he was told early on by Jimin himself, that he wasn't looking for a friendship and wasn't in need of anyone else's company but his own and his cat, Hana's. That didn't discourage the older boy, though.
He wasn't going to give up on Jimin that easily.
"Hmm, Yoongi hyung?" Jimin's eyes slowly fluttered open, a small yawn escaping his lips as he sat up straight. He looked up at Yoongi through half-lidded eyes. "You're done playing already?"
Yoongi turned his head back to the piano, nodding his head in response. He didn't want to look at the brunette who looked oh-so-adorable in his half-asleep state. How someone could look so innocent and adorable while being half-asleep, the ravenette hadn't a clue. It was confusing to him.
Jimin frowned, wanting to listen to more of his hyung's music, but shook his head to remove the frown etched at his lips. He was disappointed that wasn't able to listen to anymore of the ravenette's music, yet relieved because he had half-come to his senses and realized he had been leaning against Yoongi the entire time, which showed some sign of affection that he didn't want to give the older boy. He didn't want him getting the wrong idea, after all. They were acquaintances and nothing more.
"Thank you for playing a few songs for me, hyung. I should get home, though," the brunette stood up from the bench and turned to face the ravenette, whose eyes were still focused on the piano in front of him. "Goodnight hyung."
Jimin turned around to walk away, but he was immediately stopped by a firm grasping hand on his wrist. He looked over his shoulder at the ravenette, whom was faced directly towards him with his gaze placed on the bench. He didn't try to get out of the older boy's grasp, but was confused at what was going on.
"Jimin, I don't want to ask this of you since we aren't really friends or whatever, but-" Yoongi took a deep breath before lifting his gaze to meet the confused eyes of the brunette. "-I need somewhere to stay for the next few days and I was wondering if maybe I could stay with you? My dad kind of kicked me out and-"
"No," Jimin replied firmly. He had already began to let his guard down in front of the ravenette, the last thing he wanted to have happen was having Yoongi stay over at his house. That would only give him the opportunity to talk to him more and strength their bond and become friends - something the brunette didn't want at all. Besides, he's read enough stories to know letting something like that happen can only lead to a relationship between the two and that is definitely not what he wanted. "Don't you have other people you can go to?"
The look on Yoongi's face after Jimin spoke was one of the most painful expressions he had ever seen someone have. Being the tough-guy he was supposed to be though, Yoongi quickly went back to a straight face and acted as though what Jimin had just said to him didn't send a deep pinching feeling straight to his heart.
"Oh, it's fine, I'll just look for somewhere to stay then," Yoongi let go of Jimin's wrist and let out a fake cough to try and recover from what just happened. "Goodnight Jimin."
The brunette opened his mouth, wanting to say something to the ravenette, but no words could be formed. He closed his mouth, his lips curving downwards in a frown. He could tell what he said upset the older boy - and as badly as he wanted to apologize for cutting him off and being rude about the whole situation - but he didn't say anything and returned his gaze forwards, quickly leaving the store to go back to his apartment.
Jimin carefully crossed the street, his head down the entire time he walked. He felt words beyond terrible for treating Yoongi the way he did. He didn't even allow the older boy to finish explaining as to why he needed a place to stay before he got all worked up and bluntly told him no. All he knew is something involving his dad left him without somewhere to stay for a few nights, meaning Yoongi wouldn't have anywhere to keep warm in the cold weather that was entering upon Seoul.
Once he was across the street and up to the front doors of the apartment complex, he stopped dead in his tracks and let out a loud sigh of annoyance. Although he knew what he was going to do wasn't the smartest option, he would've felt responsible if anything happened to the ravenette while the arctic weather was approaching. He let out another sigh before turning around and sprinting across the street without looking both ways.
Yoongi was in the midst of locking up the shop as Jimin approached him. He grabbed onto the older boy's arm and pulled it, forcing Yoongi to look at the boy beside him. There Jimin was, cheeks a little rosy for the crisp air, puffs of air coming out quickly as his breathing was quicker. Jimin looked straight into Yoongi's eyes, which were filled with curiousness and confusion.
"You can stay a few days with me," Jimin let out between breaths. "Only until whatever is solved between you and your dad, okay?"
Yoongi nodded.
Jimin let go of the older boy's arm and made his way back towards the apartment complex, careful to watch for any incoming cars this time. Yoongi was following behind him, a satisfied and faint smirk tugging at his lips. Once both boys safely made it across the street, they entered the complex with Jimin in front of Yoongi.
"Good evening, Jimin," Jiyeon greeted with a wide grin. Her grin grew wider as she noticed the boy behind Jimin, "Good evening, Jimin's friend."
Jimin waved to Jiyeon before heading up the stairs with Yoongi still close behind. Upon reaching his floor and his apartment, he unlocked the door and hurried inside, Yoongi doing the same. Once both males wee inside the apartment, Jimin closed and locked the door before heading into the kitchen to feed Hana. He scooped a cup of food into her bowl and waited for her to come running, only for her to never show.
The brunette rose an eyebrow as he walked out of the kitchen, confused as to where his little kitten was since she hadn't went running for food. "Hana?" Jimin called out to the kitten. He walked towards the living room more, noticing the little ball of white curled up on Yoongi's lap, eyes closed contently. Yoongi was gently running a hand over the top of her head, making the little kitten purr loudly.
Jimin stood near the couch, arms crossed over his chest at the sight of Hana curled up on Yoongi's lap. He couldn't contain the smile that started to etch its way onto his lips at the sight. Hana hadn't met anyone else before, but she was oddly welcoming of someone she had only seen once. It was really something special, in Jimin's eyes.
"How long are you going to stand there and stare?" Yoongi asked, gaze flickering up to meet the brunette's. Jimin's cheeks quickly grew a light rosy color as he had been caught in the act of staring, yet refused to say anything. "I like your cat, by the way. She's cute."
Jimin nodded, agreeing with what the ravenette said.
"Alright, well, I'm going to sleep now so I'll be in the back room if you need anything," Jimin spoke up, Yoongi's gaze still focused on the bruentte. "Don't come into my room for something stupid, either. There's food in the fridge if you're hungry, just don't eat everything."
Yoongi nodded before asking something. "Aren't you going to eat? You haven't had lunch and I'm sure you must be hungry."
Jimin shook his head, not feeling hungry in the slightest. He had breakfast earlier and that was enough for him. After all, he only ate one meal a day because he was careful of his weight. He didn't want to weigh as much as he did in high school so he went on a diet as soon as he was a sophomore. After his diet, he had completely lost an appetite for anything except once a day.
"Well, I'm off to bed. There's a blanket on the back of the couch and pillows on either side of you. Goodnight Yoongi hyung," Jimin quickly said goodnight to avoid talking about the subject any further. That would only be a gate that opened for a close relationship with Yoongi and that's not something the brunette wanted.
"Goodnight Jimin."
Jimin walked to his bedroom, closing the door behind him. Without changing into sleepwear, he jumped onto his bed and curled up in his blanket. He was asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.
