five.
Another day of work had gone by, another day where the shop had to close early from little to no business. It was starting to really put the brunette in a bad mood. All he wanted was for people to walk into the shop and look at the portraits hanging on the walls. It was really upsetting him that the only customers that he would receive would be there to just get a sketchbook or some pencils, not look at the actual art that was all over the tiny shop.
Jimin re-adjusted the scarf that was hanging loosely around his neck as he began walking down the street. The rain was still falling down, much to his disliking, and he didn't have an umbrella with him so he had to bare with the weather as he walked to the grocery store. Earlier in the day, he noticed he was running out of food and of course, on all days that there had to be a shortage of food in his apartment, it had to be on one of the days where the rain couldn't stop falling.
He sighed as he walked past the still-open music store. He hadn't even noted what time it was since he was in such a sour mood due to the early closing of the shop and the rain that caused the day to be dull. Jimin had his head hung low as he walked, watching the passersby feet so he wouldn't run into anyone. That day had been so disappointing to him, he didn't quite know exactly why but he felt disappointing for some reason. It could've been from the rain or the lack of customers at the art shop, either way, he was just disappointed, simply disappointed.
The brunette shivered as the rain continued to fall down onto him. All he had was a light jacket and it being mid-autumn, the weather was already cold enough but with the extra rain, it made him even colder. He knew there was a high chance he was going to get sick, possibly catch pneumonia. He didn't mind though, he was going to continue on his journey because he was just that determined. All he had to do was pick up a few groceries then head home. The only problem with that would be keeping his groceries as dry as possible in the rainy weather.
Jimin noticed the rain seemed to stop and he immediately brought his gaze up. The rain was still falling down around him, but not on. That's when he noticed an umbrella was covering his head, held by a pale boy to his left. He looked over at the boy, quickly realizing it as the ravenette from earlier. He was holding out a black umbrella over the brunette's head, trying to keep him dry as the rain was wetting him and his clothes, not that he minded though.
"You're gonna get sick walking around while it's raining out," Yoongi sighed, shaking his head, which made the water on his hair fling everywhere. Jimin looked at the ravenette, eyes wide and mouth slightly agape. He hadn't a clue as to why the boy decided to lend him his umbrella while he was getting soaked with rain. In fact, Jimin was completely confused in general. "Can you stop looking at me like that? It's making me uncomfortable."
Jimin looked away, turning his gaze in front of him as a light rosy blush dusted his cheeks. He muttered a small apology, not sure if the boy could hear it or not. He was embarrassed at himself for looking at that complete stranger the way he did, in fact, he was embarrassed in general. Here he was, having some stranger hold his umbrella for him to keep him as dry as possible, while he was getting soaked on the other hand.
"Why are you even walking in the rain in the first place? I thought your apartment was right across the street of where you worked," Yoongi spoke up, noticing how embarrassed and awkward the boy looked. He wanted to start some sort of conversation with the brunette, since he found him somewhat interesting, and because he wanted to know a little bit more about the art shop's only worker.
"Well," Jimin took a quick glance at the ravenette next to him, whom was staring directly back at him. "I needed to get groceries for my apartment and since I have no car, I have to walk there and back in this rain, which I hate." The brunette sighed, not minding what he had just told the boy next to him. They both knew each other's names, so what's the harm in talking to that person?
Yoongi nodded his head, understanding what the brunette meant. He removed his gaze from Jimin and looked more to his left, noticing a small cinnamon café that looked partially empty accept for two tables and a small line. He grabbed the brunette's wrist and pulled him towards the small café while ignoring the protests of Jimin. Upon reaching the door of the café, he closed his umbrella and walked inside, the brunette following behind in confusion.
"Yoongi, why are we in here?" The brunette whispered as he stood in line with the ravenette. It was the first time he said his name, and he kinda liked how it sounded. Yoongi opened his mouth to speak but closed it when it was their turn in line.
"Hi, welcome to Jinyoung's Cinnamon Café!" A perky blonde boy spoke excitedly to the duo. He looked a little too perky for both Jimin and Yoongi's liking, but he was kind nonetheless. "What can I get for you two cuties?"
The brunette's cheeks grew a little shade of pink at being called a cutie, making the ravenette chuckle and ruffle the boy's hair. Jimin glared at Yoongi for ruffling his hair, he didn't want the ravenette to think they were friends and could be comfortable with each other. Jimin had himself and his cat Hana, he didn't want or need anyone else in his life. He was content with just the way it was.
"We'll take two apple cinnamon coffees and two cinnamon sugar donuts," the ravenette told the perky blonde, not giving the brunette any time to say if he'd like anything or if he didn't want anything.
"Alright, that'll be $13.48," the perky blonde calculated after putting the prices of each thing into the cash register.
Yoongi nodded and pulled his wallet out of his back pocket, pulling out a fifteen dollar bill and handing it to the perky blonde. The blonde, whom's name tag said Jackson, started sorting out the change to give back to the ravenette, only for him to be stopped by him speaking. "You can keep the change."
Jackson grinned widely at the ravenette before putting their order in. "Your order should be out soon, what would you like for me to call your names out as once it's done?" The blonde asked, turning his attention back to the two people in front of him.
"Yoongi and Jimin is fine," the ravenette replied to the blonde, whom nodded his head and went back to the tell the people who were making the drinks and donuts.
Jimin crossed his arms over his chest as he glared at Yoongi, upset at three of the things he had just done. First of all, he dragged Jimin into some café, then ordered them both something to have, and to top it all off, paid for everything. Yoongi noticed the glare he was receiving and turned around to face the brunette who looked extremely cute with his arms crossed over his chest and his try-to-look-menacing glare.
Yoongi chuckled at the brunette, ruffling his hair for the second time. He was sure Jimin was going to bombard him with questions when they sat down at a table with their drinks and donuts, not that he minded in the slightest. That only gave him the opportunity to talk to the brunette, which is exactly what he wanted to do.
"Yoongi and Jimin!"
Yoongi looked back at the perky blonde who was holding out a small bag and a cup holder with two drinks in it. He took the bag and cup holder from the perky blonde, giving him a small thanks before walking to an empty table. Jimin, however, didn't follow in suit this time. He only turned his body so he could face the ravenette with arms still crossed over his chest, glare still fierce in his eyes.
"Come on Jimin, don't make this difficult," the ravenette looked at the brunette whom showed no signs of moving out of his spot. Yoongi sighed and quickly ran a hand through his black locks. "Please Jimin, I have a lot to talk to you about."
Jimin, being the stubborn person he was, didn't want to give in to what the ravenette was saying. He didn't want to go over and talk to the boy - well, he did but he didn't want them to get close to the point Yoongi mistook them as friends. But, the brunette really did want to talk to the ravenette, so he ignored his better nature and waked over to the booth and sat in the spot across from Yoongi.
"So, why'd you bring me in here?" Jimin asked as soon as he sat in the booth. Yoongi quickly handed him a drink and a donut before taking a short sip of his own drink. He set the drink down and leaned back in the booth, crossing both arms over the back of his head.
"Well it's raining outside and neither of us need to catch a cold so I decided to bring you in here, where it's dry and warm," Yoongi took another sip of his apple cinnamon coffee, Jimin doing the same. "I know you need your groceries and whatnot, so I'll have my friend Namjoon bring us his car and we can go to the grocery store together. He can drop you back off at your apartment afterwards, there's just no point in getting sick because you needed groceries."
Jimin nodded his head as a thanks, quietly taking a small bite of his cinnamon sugar donut. He didn't know exactly what to say to that, especially since the stranger - not really a complete stranger anymore - was treating him so kindly. Even after he had given him a bloodied lip and broke into his dad's music store, he was still being kind to him and the brunette had absolutely no clue why.
"Also," Yoongi removed his hands from behind the back of his head and placed them on his lap, looking directly into the chocolate brown eyes that belonged to Jimin. "Nobody has ever said they liked my music before. Not even my dad."
Jimin's eyes widened as he looked directly at Yoongi. He could tell, just by the tone of voice the ravenette used while talking and by the way his eyes looked, he wasn't telling a lie. Meaning, nobody had ever told him how beautiful his music sounded, not even the boy's own father. That sent a clenching-type pain to the brunette's heart and he didn't understand why. Why. Why did his own father not say how good his son's music was?
"B-but, your music is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard," Jimin clamped a hand over his mouth after the words came out. His cheeks grew a dark rosy color at his own little confession, eyes breaking the stare with Yoongi and looking directly at his lap. Aish, Jimin! Why'd you say that?
Yoongi's attitude changed after that, a small smirk forming at the corner of his lips. "Oh, really? So art boy enjoys the music I play?"
Art boy.
Art boy.
Art boy.
Jimin looked down at the ground, his lips forming into a thin line. Without even glancing up at Yoongi, he stood up and dashed out of the small café. Yoongi's eyes widened in the slightest, smirk disappearing as he quickly dashed out of the café in search of Jimin. He didn't know what he said to upset the brunette, but he wanted to know. He didn't mean to upset him in any way.
"Jimin, where are you?" Yoongi called out to the few people walking down the sidewalk. The rain was still pouring down as hard as earlier, if not harder. He looked left and right in hopes of spotting the head of brunette hair anywhere, but was met with nothing but strangers giving him weird looks.
Yoongi sighed after he realized the brunette had probably gone back to his apartment. He sat down on the curb of the sidewalk, a heavy sigh escaping past his lips.
You fucked up again, Min Yoongi. No wonder your dad can't stand you.
+ note ; im not very confident with this story,, i don't think it's turning out good. but some of you seem to like it so i want to keep it, but idk.
