Me when my fuckass writing fugue state stops me from drawing for like 3 weeks LMAOOOOOO

Guys. I'm having so much fun SOOOOO MUCH FUN it's harrowing sometimes mostly bc everyone's an emotional disaster and that affects my mood somewhat. Also in general I just get. Headaches. Idk if that's from the screen or me thinking too hard or. Not drinking enough water idk. But genuinely this has probs been my longest writing streak ever. AND I'M SO HERE FOR IT

I'm taking just a tiny little break for now just bc Act 1 is pretty much done. There's like 1 or 2 more scenes I think I can add LOL pros of nonlinear development I can just fuck around. Cons of nonlinear development I will Find Out. The amount of times I have  updated the scene number in chapters is Not an insignificant amount.

But also I will be on vacation soon and idk how much I'll be able to draw 🤨🤨🤨 I brought my old sketchbook with me home for this exact reason. Fun fact I drew in that same sketchbook during the last OI phase (mid-late 2021). So opening it and seeing the old art was very funny. I haven't actually gone THROUGH it as a whole but just looking at the last things I drew in it vs what I'm drawing now I'm just like. Wowie!!!

ANYWAY all that to say jic I don't have a lot of drawing time I wanted to have at least one chapter out + writing break + I wanted to draw Dragon AU anyway LOLLLL

But first I actually drew sona art bc I've been wanting to for some time now. And it fit in this chapter so like why not.

HEH. SURPRISE for my GOAT. I told u I would draw our sonas together. Drawing ur rat was SOOOO FUN ^_^ I also snuck in our objectsonas LOLLL Ink Pen isn't very clear tho. Also ur holding a drawing tablet so like it wouldn't make sense but the idea is there LMAO. Idefk if you still use Ink Pen even if just theoretically but I thought it'd be fun to include.

Aside from that. Tried to give my sona uhhhhh what is it called. LAZY EYE. My fuckass eyes dawg. Being abnormal is so great (lying). Also the left arm is WAY TOO THIN but whatever. Actually that might be on brand for a Sonic style character anyway so. Lol.

And then I tried a more furry version of my Sonicsona. Furry nation WIN. Foxes are awesome but at the same time idk if I particularly identify with it. My sona is a fox bc of a joke. It's not a dealbreaker or anything but I'll probably end up drawing diff fursonas and alternating at will. Already have an idea for like a monkey/bird hybrid thing. Birds are awesome + my zodiac is a monkey so I thought it'd be cool.

I still love Kit the Fox bc of her exasperated and tired isekai character thing she has going on LMAOOO ever since I drew her in the Dogman style I decided her thing is getting isekaied to random fandoms. And it's awesome bc she's a NERD but also oh good god get her out of there she needs to finish her fucking college degree and pay rent.

Part of her "canon" ig is that she got transported to the Sonic universe. She fucks around there for a while maybe gets dragged into shenanigans bc the plot demands it (aka my own version of OC/self-insert/isekai-centric Sonic fanfiction bc I'm petty) and then eventually is able to leave via Tails invention. And then she finds herself in Dogman universe (smthn smthn Petey activates a dimensional portal at the same time) and she's like. Are you fucking kidding me.

TBH I could probably weave in an object show arc in there too. I think that would be VERY funny.

On the other hand my monkey/bird hybrid is probably just an agent of chaos. That's it.

Okay and then. Heh. Dragon AU.

Act 1 basically LMAO highkey these mfs either need to kiss or kill each other THEIR FUCKING DOOMED POLYCULE ASS. I accidentally made Pudding Cup a gatekeep girlboss (tbh I think Dragon PC was always like that but writing it I was like Holy Shit dawg). Oreohat is EXTREMELY gay doomed yaoi. Everyone has more trauma now. Or at the least it's more explicitly present in ny brain.

It gets better in Act 2 bc now they're all working together but it also gets Worse. For reasons I will not disclose just yet 😁😁😁

Putting this guy through the horrors. And this is only Act 1 😭😭😭😭 mfs when they're obsessed with order and structure so of course other mfs write stories to purposefully break your entire perception of reality just to see what comes out. Sighs.

LOLLLL okay so. I was thinking abt PC shapeshifting and thought it'd be funny if she shifted into a cat and followed Oreo around. Which gave me the idea of catgirl PC LMFAO but also a half-dragon half-cat form bc she can do that. So there she is.

Beginning of story vs end of story Ph!!!! I wanted to save the reveal for a comic. Tbh. But I wanted a physical visualuzation more.

Okay so left. I revisited his hunter fit. Made it more practical and modern but tbh I absolutely just looked up something online bc my ass is AWFUL at clothes design. I'm a very hit or miss person. Again did it for visualization purposes but I'll probably need to do a full body. SIGH.

Right!!!! So sometime innnnn late Act 3 Ph decides to change his hairstyle. Stop hiding the scars. Very big character moment for him but also now the scars are more exposed and bc his eye is damaged basically beyond repair it ends up hurting 😭😭😭 just in that old wound kind of way. So he gets an eyepatch and that fixes most of the exposure problem lol.

PUDDING CUP SCAR!!!!! Her other arm covers it but it goes to halway down the forearm.

Basically another dragon challenged her to prove she was strong and convicted enough to go to Earth for her mission. Bc it was her idea but some of the other dragons were worried she'd get herself killed 😭😭😭

Idk if she won or lost in a physical sense but in the end the dragon agreed to let her go bc she was willing to fight and be wounded for it. So she won either way lol. Lwk I want to write that scene as like extra backstory content. I want to write a backstory chap for all of them. As it stands rn there isn't a lot of explicit bakstory sharing between charaters. Most of it is heavily implied through internal narration. So it could be fun to have chapters specifically exploring everyone's background/pre-story events ^_^

Watermelon concept.........def for Dragon AU she's sharper looking than how I'd probs draw her in canon? I'd still like to have some bigness to her but bc of her lifestyle she's also kinda toned. Hopefully that makes sense.

I still stand by that she ends up an antagonist bc I love foils but I was writing her in Act 1 and. Accidentally made her sympathetic. Her and Ph's sibling dynamic ended up being kinda sweet ngl??? 😭😭😭 Admittedly a lot of it is rooted in trauma but I'll be honest Everyone's relationships in this fuckass story are rooted in trauma to some degree. Or just like there are trauma-based dynamics in play.

Watermelon being sympathetic is good bc it'll make the antagonist arc hurt so much more. But it's also WATERMELON so it's just kind of strange LOL. I'm also realizing she has a major dynamic with each och member across all my AUs. Ph for Dragon AU. PC for Oreocup Swap and Heartbreaker. Oreo for NC but that's a canon continuation AU so that's given. Also she never interacts with Oreo in NC anyway it's really just Oreo dealing with the consequences of being with her.

Hunters in general are very interesting morally speaking. I portray them as regular people because. That's mostly what they are. Tbh there are Most Definitely ppl who are hunters for the power but I digress. Watermelon is a good sister given her circumstances I think but she still hunts dragons. Both her and Ph are so deeply traumatized by hostile dragons but they still hurt others. PC is also interesting bc she is Also deeply affected and hurt by the human/dragon conflict but she speaks in absolutes and a slightly warped sense of love and loyalty. Smthn smthn trauama is an explanation not an excuse. I really like trauma narratives that explore this ^_^ ofc love and healing always win in my head but I will be damned if my characters don't bleed all over themselves and possibly others to get there.

ALL THIS TO SAY. Unlike Ph, Watermelon never leaves the hunters and YES she turns out to be a direct and more personal antagonist and YES she has like a villain arc but the fact that she was just a person coping the best she could is far more compelling than if she were just Bad and that was the end all be all. Granted she has really bad coping mechanisms and emotional regulation. But that's just how it is sometimes 😔😔😔

This is also how I think abt her canon character LOL I won't get too deep into it this chap though. I have a comic for that. Fun fact Heartbreaker AU was initially created for the sole purpose of exploring that hc.

TLDR. Moral complexity and messy trauma narratives are awesome. Maybe not awesome to experience irl though LOL

PC can also shapeshift into them. You know her draconically enhanced dramatic ass would pull something like this. No particular reason behind this one I just thought it'd be funny LMFAO. She also does this same shit with Ph but she definitely likes committing Shenanigans AS Ph more bc she knows it messes with him and she likes abusing his image. She and Oreo share a braincell half of the damn time in this AU and it shows.

In the book I posted there is a section for alternate timelines. So behold the dragon Oreo/Ph universes.

I really wanted to give Oreo curled horns fsr so there they are. He also has like. Ridges and plates on his skin ^_^ Idk what kind of dragon he is. Maybe something earth or fire/warmth related. I was considering a hearth dragon which is in the fire domain but it's more connected to warmth and belonging than just pure fire like PC is.

For Oreo I think his lore is that he's actually pretending to be human. Lwk I think he was raised by humans who bought him as an "exotic pet" off the black market. So uh. That's fun. And like he's aware he's a dragon but he's spent his whole life surpressing it for the sake of survival and fitting in. And his whole thing is wanting to be loved and accepted for who he is while simultaneously knowing that it's dangerous for someone to truly Know him. So he's just existentially lonely I'm afraid 😔😔😔😔 obvs he knows there are other dragons but I think he also really likes being human so it's not as simple as staying in the Dragon Realm. There's a lot going on with his psyche.

Bc PC is human in this AU idk what her role necessarily is. She's 100% someone Oreo really likes LMAO she's his favorite human basically. So in a hypothetical plot they start off knowing each other. The setting might just stay the same so they'd both be college students. Ph is still a hunter probably so it's actually really funny if their relationship starts the same way. Aka "wait I was flirting with a hunter" vs "how did I not notice that was a dragon"

For a hypothetical plot I think someone finds out what Oreo is and reports him OR his foster family sells him out for Reasons. But then PC saves his ass and helps hide him bc she don't gaf about what he is. She cares about him and this is Unfair so ofc she helps him. #fugitivearc I LOVE fugitive arcs bro. And Oreo's like. "Is this what love feels like" LMFAO

For Ph. He has antlers and feathers ^_^ I wanted him to be a little strange and unusual. His attunement is also kinda weird it's like. The concept of stillness. More abstract than metaphysical so he's still an Elemental dragon. My other options were ice/frost or lightning 🤔🤔🤔🤔 but I felt that stillness better reflects his themes of self control and repression. Lol.

Idk how to really explain what he can do BUT some concepts I had were that the air around him tends to be very still. Aka the wind won't touch him if he says so/is locked in. Dew collects between his antlers if he's standing still. Sometimes he just won't blink for several minutes. For offensive capabilities he can like. Channel the "stillness" of an area and then expel it. It's mostly just using air tbh. I think it would also be cool if he could walk on water this way LOL it has to be still/slow moving water though like a lake. His magic is very physics-based I fear.

Lorewise. Tbh he might STILL be a hunter even in this version but this time it's out of self-punishment/loathing. I was thinking maybe he hurt people in the past or something along those lines. And then he doomspiraled himself into believing he and his kind are way too dangerous to exist so he became a hunter. This guy needs so much therapy it's not even funny. Like it hurts him to keep all of his dragon parts denied. It hurts to let them out. It just hurts to exist 😭😭😭😭😭 like he's so out of tune with who he is that I think his literal essence is just like. Not broken or corrupted but just Wounded. Existential pain.

Oreo and PC are just chillin in this version bc both of them are regular humans now. I think what ends up happening is that one of them sees Ph transformed and this guy freaks out so bad over it 😭😭😭 they probs confront him about it afterward but idrk where the plot goes from there. Shrug.

Better look at Ph's feathers. They mostly come down his spine and along his arms/legs and just in small patches. Tbh I think the constant dress shirts in this version are mostly to cover up the feathers in the case his shift wavers 😭😭😭

Random facts ig but I think when he shifts into a full animal it'll usually be a rabbit or raven or stag. Idk where rabbit came from but it's there. Oreo will usually transform into a dog of some kind. PC will shift into anything but she leans toward cats and birds of prey.

ALSO okay this bit has nothing to do with Dragon AU but I've been listening to some Chappell Roan recently. And I have thought to myself several times "wow this song is so Oreo-core". And basically my hc now is that even before he realized he was bi he'd listen to a lot of songs with queer subtext (or even just text) and cite that he just liked how they sounded. And then after he realized he's bi and came out he listened to those songs again and he was like. "Oh." LMFAO
