Actually I'm pleasantly surprised with how quickly I got this done :) I started drawing it at...like 12am ish? Then finished around 5pm. Doesn't sound very fast but it's good enough for me :]

I have like 2 more songcomics planned + other things I have a lOT of things I still wanna draw hndhsksba 😭😭 arhdhdgshsjs

ANYWAYS!!! Oreocup am I right

So if the....art direction(?) in this isn't clear:

Basically Pudding Cup has Caught Feelings for Oreo and hOLY SHIT it's scary for her. It's very in line with the meaning of the song as Mitski put it:

Waughtyhdusis I don't know how to explain things. Like she's so close to falling in love(and I mean she already has, but she's kinda in denial), which is that ledge she falls off of and into Oreo's arms because LOVE. Or. Something. Agdjdjsjs

I mean you can still ask for details or a meaning and I will. Try my best to answer :)

Tbh I could probbbbably explain well enough if I literally went through my entire creative process panel by panel but tHAT'D TAKE TOO LONG 😭😭

Edit: Okay so by popular demand(of one(1) person) I have been asked to explain my ENTIRE CREATIVE PROCESS!!! So uh. Fuck it ig it's LONG PARAGRAPH TIME. RAMBLES AHEAD!!! AND THEY'RE ALL OVER THE PLACE MY BRAIN DOES NOT. DOESN'T EXPLAIN THINGS WELL.

I actually. I actually first found this song through a personality quiz LMAO but the given lyrics really interested me so 🙄✋ Good thing it was so eye catching!!!

Anyways fuckin. Literally as I was listening to the song I thought it'd go well with Oreocup???? Bc I interpreted it as someone being scared to fall in love and I was kinda right!! Did some research and Mitski said in an interview (different from the one I posted above) that she was falling in love with someone when she really couldn't afford to.

And just. Idk something clicked I just thought it fIT REALLY WELL???? So then I planned this entire thing out in like a single day AND HERE WE ARE.

I took the pacing at the beginning kind of slowly bc Firstly I wasn't sure what else I could do so I led with "PC taking a walk outside at night bc reasons"

And idk!! She's kinda thinking about Oreo and can't sleep.

"Wild women don't get the blues" is something I thought really resonated with her bc she is indeed a wild woman!! Like you don't expect her to be sad n shit. But here she kinda just. Sits down on the bench bc she's tired of FEELINGS.

Also I thought it'd be a cool idea to hide her eyes until the close up. Idk why. I already knew I wanted to do a close up before deciding to hide her eyes until that point.

But if I could put it in words it's something like....like yknow the phrase "the eyes are the window to the soul"; I wanted to do a close up bc of. Ugdjdjdjs yknow how ppl do eye close ups when the character has a realization or is otherwise thinking deeply. Something like that!!

And then the decision to hide her eyes was because it's like. "You don't know what she's thinking aside from body language". Something like that!!!

Hope I haven't lost you yet lol

And "tall child" comes from the new experience that makes her, in her grown up body, feel like a child.

Also!!! She looks kinda like. Nonchalant(or at least not expecting) to tear up bc sHE IS FULL OF FEELINGS THAT SHE KEEPS PUSHING DOWN.

And also her eyes are hidden again bc I wanted the focus to be like. On her hands and cheeks. Like "tears??? Wtf is this"

And the next panel is essentially just visualization. Oreo leaving her behind for Watermelon. And hopefully you see she looks kinda conflicted!! Obviously this isn't a good thing but she is like. Suffocating under her feelings. Tbh this more refers to what happened in ep 10 than ep 9, it's supposed to be like a "well if you're gonna fucking leave, then leave" thing. Not in a mad way, but like.... like he already left and betrayed her so it doesn't matter.

I don't think I'm making sense ahahahn

"Please don't say you love me" is like. She doesn't want him to confirm it. Self explanatory I think? She doesn't want to admit she's in love because wht the fuck!!

The Japanese in the next panel translates to "my chest is about to burst" so I just visualized that too. Heartache from all the emotions.

And I kinda already explained the next part; the ledge is the threshold of her admitting her feelings. That whole 6 panel sequence is like. Uhhhh....fantasy, I guess? Just falling in love into your lover's arms.

But ofc she is MORTIFIED at herself because what the fuck she can't be falling in love!!!! And "crawl back in" just refers to like. Just getting rid of her feelings and denying them forever. :)

But UH YEAH!!! I've listened to this song like 6 times over the past 2 days it Does Not get old :D

I'm gonna draw a fluff comic do not worry 👌 I mean it's a different ship but uh. Still :>

Also lowkey kinda like my Watermelon design....even though I only drew her from the back..... might make more humanized OI characters but we'll see

Speaking of which I haven't downloaded Ibis Paint X yet but I'll do that eventually!!! Really wanna make colorizations of The Trio lol
