New year same me because I never change B)

Anyways hiiiiii. I am in So Much Pain 😎 Character design is such. A process.

Been working on an Aperture redesign for a while now and Good Golly you won't believe how hard it's been. Like redoing her plumage ALONE has been such a task.

But first an old drawing of her and another canon chr 😎😎

Fyi Marble isn't that short compared to Ghost I just accidentally drew him that way 😭😭 The other two are Amber and Smoke. More on them eventually.

Anyways I felt like Aperture needed a redesign because I noticed her face markings were kinda 😦😦 phallic looking 😦😦😦 and I couldn't unsee it + I wanted to change her outfit anyway + I wasn't really digging her plumage-style

So yeah I'm liking this one more 😁😁 she has an ahoge for some reason now.

Whenever I have trouble drawing a character I do a doodle like this 😁😁😁 Aperture has been a BITCH to work with (accurate tbh)

And I also went through some outfit ideas before settling on this one for now.

To help with the design process I tried to kind of keep her design revolved around expressing her individuality??? So that meant keeping it practical but still a little feminine, and also giving her those face markings. And then of course it's harder because I had to design around the wings and keep the outfit fit for flight 👍 (not heavy, not causing to much drag)

Does that make sense??? 😦😦😦😦 I felt like I was having so much trouble because I was trying to do too much with the design at once. Like how do you express "individuality" in a design. It's a very vague description yknow. I just kept doing whatever until something felt right 😦

And then of course I also had to keep in mind the fact she has a job. So the outfit had to look at least a little professional??? I know photographers don't really have a certain look BUT they also kind of do??? They have a sort of business casual vibe about them, no? 🤔🤔 might just be me.

But presently, I think this design is alright for now 👍👍 Just about right amount of everything I was trying to do.

That is until I did a color test 😦😦😦

Something. STILL. Does not feel right. I'm thinking it might be the outfit but I would like to keep some pink and or yellow in the design 🤔 The main body color might be a bit bright too??? 😦😦😦 or maybe the design in general doesn't translate well into color?!?

Oh yeah and her pupils are now hexagons 👍👍👍Like a camera lmao. Thought it'd be a fun design quirk.

I also thought it'd be funny if you could hook Aperture up to a computer and download memories from her brain like pictures from a camera. And because her visual memory is perfect, it'd be a perfect visual recreation of the scene 👍👍 I'm actually not sure if that's theoretically sound???? Just an idea 👍

Anyways that's enough Aperture for now 😁👍

Idea. What if the stone Marble turns into reflects the type of stone found in the area 🤔🤔 it'd def help him blend in a lot more. And it kinda shakes up the power yknow. Like his body absorbs minerals from the environment yeahhhh 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

At least I think that's how rocks are made 😦 I know they're usually forned by heat and pressure but uhhh maybe I can bend the rules of science a bit for this one 🙄🙄 As in the minerals fuse with his skin and he becomes that kind of rock without needing all the other stuff.

xplanation for this lad. On a Discord server I'm in we collectively made an object OC. Their name is Auvergne Bleu and she's a pompous rich kid who loves shiny rings, watches, and big hats. He's also French but speaks like they're a Shakespeare character/Victorian person for some reason.

And so we all made tuppers bases of our interpretations 👍 Mine is feral for some reason lmao

I shared the dnd characters with some ppl over Discord and someone said Horkin goes feral and barks at people when he gets mad so that's canon now 👍👍

And he hardly ever gets mad so I guess whenever this happens the party's just like "😕😕 holy shit"
