Hello chat!!! Btw I was thinking abt how long this phase has lasted and it's been about 4 months right. And I counted how long the 2021 phase lasted (perks of timekeeping!!) and it was 5 months. So. That's a fun fact! Aiming to beat my personal record let's go 😎😎💪💪 I think part of it has to do with how I have multiple AUs to work with so I have a lot to keep my brain busy with LOLLLLL

Okay anyway.....

Ever so slightly changed how I draw this guy 😊😊 mainly just the hair. Also technically a redraw of when I drew him for the first time.

But yeah essentially I was like "hmm I wanna draw Dragon Ph" so. here we are.

Btw. So crazy seeing my art improve in real time LOL. Perks of drawing the same damn characters on a weekly/daily basis. How I draw ppl now is very different from 4 months ago which is different from 3 years ago and etc. I think paying attention to how I was drawing things + how other people draw things really helped like I was saying several chapters ago. Yeah 😊😊😊

Also I came to the realization Dragon Ph looks a lil like Arven from Pokemon. They're not rlly that similar but I think it's the hair-covering-eye hairstyle + face shape + blue eyes.

Too silly with it 😭😭😭 when these two get friendlier PC is always bullshitting and teasing him trying to see how far she can push him before he tells her to quit it 😭😭 it's just how she flirts with ppl LOLLLLL (unwillingness to show real emotional vulnerability)

Ph gets a little exasperated sometimes but lwk.......may or may not be into it..... 😊😊 sighs this is how you know I'm deranged I'm feeling so deranged rn. Idk if into it is even the phrase I'm looking for. Endeared??? Another word that means fondness and closeness???????

Also Oreo's just glad they're getting along bless him 😭😭 PC is notably meaner to Ph than to Oreo but it's waaaay better than how she used to be (would never joke with/tease him, barely tolerated being in the same room as him, straight up hated this guy 😭😭😭)

Was thinking abt what Ink said abt how Oreo usually layers. And how Dragon PC is a fire dragon so she's naturally warm to the touch or even just the immediate air around her is warmer. 😊😊😊

Digital art jumpscare. I left one of my sketch layers on bc 2/3s of my way thru lineart I realized the brush was way too thin and the lines looked horrendous so the sketch adds some extra thickness + color to it.... 😭😭

Actually I just went back and turned off the sketch and it's not that terrible?? It's still not that great imo but maybe I'm just too used to my sketchy traditional style. Having just the lineart makes it feel too empty 😭😭😭😭 never making digital art again dawg this shit SUCKS (will make digital art again)

Anyway!!! In the previous Dragon chap I made a comment abt how I saw Dragon Ph having a darker eye color than I normally imagine it. And it led to a convo abt how traumatized this guy is that his damm eye color changed. And I was like "damn I should draw that lol" and so here we are almost 3 months later.

Still dunno if this is canon bc 1) it's funny as fuck and 2) lwk the warm blue eyes are soooo pretty 🥰🥰🥰 but it's so fucking stupid LMFAO. Ig I can always do another color test and see what I like better. Ik I've talked about the struggle of picking an eye color for Ph at least twice now so I'll spare u the rant 😭😭

Pudding Cup full dragon form 🤩🤩🤩🤩 these are the first drawings I did...I had a VERY vague idea of what she'd look like but the majority of this was "fuck it we ball".

2nd drawings. Was meant to be expression practice LOL but I went too hard on the right drawing

Body shape. I might just end up giving her a more European style anyway bc the long serpent-like body + wings don't seem to mesh well together. I'll try again but 🤔🤔🤔 we'll see ig.

Idk she doesn't exactly feeeeel like Pudding Cup? But at the same time it's like. Yeah what did I expect; that's a goddamn DRAGON 😭😭 but some of the drawings make her look like a Disney character. Like the dragon from Raya and the Last Dragon. Might be bc of the mane and general sleekness. I'll keep fine tuning 🤔🤔 I like the vibe of 2nd batch right drawing the most so I'll see abt working with that more.

Okay I'm out of drawings FOR NOW so. Laters. I DO WANNA SAY THO I finally got around to watching Mouthwashing 🤩🤩🤩🤩 it was uh. It was an experience lemme tell you 😭😭😭 a very good experience though. I sure do love taking responsibility.

Speaking of which I have a midterm at 8am tomorrow that I haven't studied for (context it is 11pm) SO UM YEAH BYE LMAO

Guys I did Not mean to let this sit for nearly a week 💀💀 I think my drawing motivation died bc drawing dragons is like. A Process. It's fun don't get me wrong but wow. Idk man I'm just sitting here.

Bit closer to what I imagined!! 😊😊😊 I feel like the sleeker head and body make her look kind of fem. Which is kinda weird to me bc in my mind dragons aren't rlly supposed to have male/female dimorphism. But I also feel generally that PC would have a sleeker form anyway so. Shrug. I think I'm getting this idea from how as an object she's pretty smooth 🤔🤔🤔

In terms of height btw I think Oreo and Ph reach up toooooo just above her shoulders here??? Around that area??? I wanted to draw out a height comparison but I also. Really didn't want to. Because I would have to draw the lower body and I hate doing that 😞😞😞😞😞 I'll learn one of these days.

Side note I didn't rlly experiment with the design as much as I probably should have. I don't really like experimenting too much either bc my drawings will come out weird more often than not 😭😭😭 I know that's not a good mindset to have so I'm trying to unlearn it. But basically that's why PC has a more standard/conventional dragon design. If I ever design more dragons I really would like them to be more unconventional. Whether that means changing PC's design to match that design philosophy is for future me to worry about though. Rn she's okay as is :)

I'm wary of falling into the character design trap of 'main character looks conventionally relatable/attractive; other characters/antagonist of the same species look weird/alien/evil' because I actually hate that trope so much 😭😭😭 we'll see what happens ig. Bc Pudding Cup should really look at least a Little menacing....🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 heavy sigh.

More general expression practice 🤨🤨 I was kinda going crazy by bottom row you can tell by the silly doodle on the left(?). LMAO. I can't remember the last time I did character practice specifically like this with lots of drawings of just one character (actually yes I can. This happens every time I design/redesign a character. No wonder I hate going through that process so much 😭😭). I was getting tired so after this I was like "okay. I gotta draw something that's not a dragon." 😭😭😭

Um. Yeah. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 btw I picked quite possibly the worst angle to draw this at bc this is actually the 2nd drawing of this. First drawing I winged it and then I started looking for references afterward LOLLLL. One of the refs I looked at called it "that weird angle" and like. Yeah. Turned out pretty good in the end though 😊😊😊😊 peak art crashout behavior. I also got to try out the heart method!!!! Good stuff.

Btw I think I'm gonna change Watermelon's role to be like Ph's adoptive sister. Just so that everyone's in the same age range 🤭🤭🤭 also opens up opportunities for character foiling between them. The basic gist being that Ph has defensive motivations while Watermelon is more offensive when it comes to dragon hunting. Something like that 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Another aside but I was playing Slay the Princess the other day and highkey. Route I ended up on gave me NC AU inspo 😭😭😭😭 New episode(?) of Alien Stage came out recently too and that ALSO gave me NC AU inspo LOLLLLLLL as well as emotional damage 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😞 but what else is new.

Ink's oxalis chap also lwk gave me inspo for my own object OCs....I wanna try and take a crack at humanizing them (also I've been thinking of human names for them just for fun ^_^) but the OI main interest is still going too hard 😭😭😭 I'll just see where my pencil takes me.
