- Sablekit was born with Rainkit in early Newleaf during a storm. Rainkit gets sick and dies two days after birth.
- Willowfall is depressed over Rainkit's death, and pours all her attention and love onto Sablekit.
- Sablekit becomes weak, as whenever another kit upsets him in any way, Willowfall yells at them or their parents.
- Sablekit's father, Badgerface, dies in a violent border skirmish. Willowfall only gets more depressed and protective.

.:: Apprenticeship ::.
- Sablekit is named Sablepaw. Willowfall is very upset.
- Sablepaw learns to swim quickly, much to Willowfall's fear; she's immensely worried for him, and if he's out of camp all day, she swarms the patrol that night claiming they "had me worried sick", and "he could've gotten hurt".
- Sablepaw meets another apprentice named Sparrowpaw, who is more outgoing than him but is very sweet when talking to him. They grow a bond quickly.
- Willowfall is so worried that Sparrowpaw is a "bad influence" and could put her beloved son in danger that she grounds Sablepaw to stay in camp until he's a warrior. The other cats of the Clan call her insane and let Sablepaw back onto apprentice duties.
- While on a patrol, Sablepaw and some warriors encounter twolegs.
- He is captured by twolegs and kept as a kittypet for three moons.

- Sablepaw is renamed Mocha by the twolegs and meets an old tom called Morris.
- Morris shows him how to tell the twolegs when he wants to get out, but the housefolk who took Sablepaw have kids, and the twoleg kits refuse to let him have a moment of piece.
- Sablepaw gets overly-bugged one day and snaps, clawing one of the twoleg kit's arms. The kit breaks into annoying wailing, and the older twolegs throw Sablepaw into the garden, yelling at him until he leaves.
- Sablepaw happily returns home to the Clan, Willowfall ecstatic to see him.

- Sablepaw is named Sabletail soon after returning.
- Sabletail and Sparrowcall become mates a moon later.
- Willowfall dies after contracting a strange illness. Sabletail is devastated.
- Sabletail and Sparrowcall have three kits. They name them Creamkit, Aspenkit, and Rainkit. Rainkit is named in memory of Sabletail's lost sister.
