basic storyline:

gingerbreeze (the slope-faced cat) is part of a rebellion against his clan's leader, ashstar (the other cat) because he had been elected for no real reason, and had bad judgement. gingerbreeze was the leader of the rebellion and, eventually, ashstar  found them. ashstar wounded  gingerbreeze and chased them out. gingerbreeze soon returned, however, and murdered ashstar. the final few frames are supposed to represent starclan abandoning gingerbreeze.
