I have not been active because the electricity (that left like to weeks ago) has just returned definitively (I hope). They are building huge FULLY ELECTRIC buildings in the area and there is no electricity supply. And its really hot here :( (sad noises)

CONTEST

So I made 2 of the option 1.

1-Kamado Tanjiro, Kimetsu No Yaiba/Demon Slayer- Tanuki

Why?
1-Its an anime with characters from Japan, so I choose an  animal that is part of Japan wildlife.

2-"According to legend, tanuki are well-adapted to various environments, from mountain forests to urban areas, and possess a variety of magical abilities." Tanjiro lived in a mountain, but he adapted very well to the urban areas (leaving aside his amazement for trains and stuff jejejeje). And magic? Well, he literally just an user of water and fire and those things??

3-KnY, according to Google, is suppose to take place in Taishō period, and during the Taishō period (1912-1926) the tanuki changed from a demon to a very lovely figure said to bring good luck and good fortune for statue owners.  (And if you know you know.)

4-Nowadays, the tanuki is a portrait of generosity and cheerfulness. Just like Tanjiro existence.

5- 3 of the 8 elements on Tanuki statues literally can represents Tanjiro:

Big eyes help observe and pay attention to everything around to make the right decisions.

A smiley face represents friendliness and being kind to others.

Their big tail {in his case Nezuko box] helps to support the balance of the body, implying stability. It also represents the end, so it also has another meaning of wishing everything to end firmly.

4- "They play an important role in the protection and rearing of the young." Tanjiro helped to raise his lil sibilings and in the bonus manga facts literally said that in the demon training season, they call him "mommy"

5-"Tanuki are nocturnal, and spend most of their time foraging at night. They are social animals, and will remain in pairs or small groups." He is always with someone if possible, he is a social butterfly and most of the time is pending on the night because demon attacks at that time, yk, and because Nezuko.

6- "They have poor eyesight but an excellent sense of smell." Tanjiro possesses an extremely sharp sense of smell.

2-Prince (fire lord in this) Zuko, Avatar: the last Airbender- Cat

Fire Lord Zuko playing with the turtle ducks on the palace garden/yard(?

Ok this is going to be long...

I chose cat for zuko because;
1-Cats love heat (and he is good, a fire bender)
2-In Japan (we can assume that the fire nation is based on ancient Japan, therefore all the races chosen are based on Japan!) cats mean good luck. If you saw the avatar, it's obvious that Zuko isn't lucky, according to him, since he was lucky to be born and he wasn't born lucky like his lil sis 😎👌
3-Cats in Japan are everywhere (like the fire nation :D)
4-Cats used to be pets of the imperial family (those of breed at least) (And Zuko is part of the imperial family soo)

5-Cats spiritually represent: "curiosity, companionship, independence, mischief, and elegance. But they also represent mystery, good fortune, intuition, spiritual enlightenment and growth."(Spoilers head)
  • Curiosity: Zuko is curious, if he didn't get into other people's business, Atla would last 3 chapters.
  • Companionship, Growth, Spiritual enlightenment: What he gains after his redemption arc 😩🖐️
   • Independence: Before Zuko had a change of heart, it shows how independent he is, wanting to do everything alone (not because he thinks he can but because he thinks he doesn't deserve it, which is sad 😭).
  • Mischief, mystery: Guy literally just goes around in mask and kevlar with a secret identity just to cause trouble. )
   • Intuition: The boy has a sixth sense for the avatar, it's not even funny.
   • Good fortune: yes, I already said that he had bad luck BUT if he wasn't for that spark of good luck(and stubbornness)  that he has he would be like Lu Ten (rip)
   •Elegance: idk he is cute as the fire lord.

Most important reason:
6- I like cats, and I think Zuko would too.

Explaining the design:

I decided that if I'm going to design Zuko, the least I have to do is design his entire family tree to make it as accurate as possible.

#1 Breeds: [btw, i used only asiatic cats, because again, AtlA is suppose to be based on that area(?

The avatar Roku (His great-grandfather on mother side) Oriental Long hair: this breed is friendly, curious, sociable, talkative, just like the old, silly Roku.

Ta Min (great grandmother on his mother side): Singapura: Energetic, intelligent, social. While we don't know much about Ta Min, we do know a lot about Aang. And you know that theory about how the girlfriends of the Avatars look like their reincarnation? Well, look at this picture and tell me that the kitten doesn't look like Aang if he was a cat.

Sozin (great-grandfather from Ozai's side) Dragon Li: Clever, active, vigilant, friendly (until his crush gets married to someone else, smh, can you believe this guy?) Also dragons cuz you know, the sozin line ended them all (or did they 👀)

Sozin wife: (great-grandmother from Ozai's side) Korat : I chose this bc we don't know nothing about her, but she must be royaaaal (royaaaal) and I needed the blue tones for Azula.

Ilah(grandmother from Ozai's side) Burmese :Friendly, affectionate, sociable with other animals, playful. Also, Burmese are prone to getting a genetic disease that weakens the bones.
And I chose this because a fanon fact shared that Ilah was ill (and subsequently died) from an illness, which affected him even more after Ozai's birth, and taking into account the age difference between him and Iroh, yikes

Summary (not that genetically accurate but shh)

#2 Colors

Little detail: Zuzu's burned eye has the Ozai color because it'a the disgrace side 😉 His other eye has the same burning bright color that Sozin (reference as the fact that the royal family is 'blessed' by agni)

Ta Min, Avatar Roku, Sozin, Azulon, Jinzuk and Rina colors are directly select of the series or comics!

So Zuko colors:

His main color is the darkest color on Ursa, which is also main color on Ta Min. His darkest color is Ozai main, but Azula darkest is also Ozai's darkest. The ginger on Zuzu is from Jinzuk, and his palest color from Ursa and  Rina (Which is a Mix from the palest color on Ta Min and Avatar Roku)

#3 Design

1- The circle on Zuko's (and Azula) chest is mean to symbolize their relationship with the Avatar Roku. That circle is a EXTREMELY simplification of the spiritual Simbol on AtlA (cheek the middle one)

2-Zuko eyes, again, Zuzu's burned eye has the Ozai color because it'a the disgrace side 😉 His other eye has the same burning bright color that Sozin (reference as the fact that the royal family is 'blessed' by agni). Following this, Ozai's design refers to how he looks so much like his mother but not enough. his father (And a widely accepted fandom is that Ozai was considered a weak bender by his father, and having the eyes of Ilah (who is not blessed by agni) only accentuates this fact).

3- The fire mark on his head is to represent the fire nation symbol of the royal family (in contract to the Spiritual symbol, that is right in his heart, instead of his brain)

4- Zuko's muzzle gradient is the same as Roku's. But the flame mark under his eyes is the same as Azulon.
