Never in his life did Elidelia think he would ever uncover the secrets of the statue. The statue of King Dorinela had been sitting idly since the great king's death. Most Eiriene just passed the statue thinking it was just a monument to a fallen king, oh how wrong they were.
     Elidelia studied nearly every nook and cranny of the stone. Tracing words no one understands. It was when Elidelia checked the jewel on the statues chest, he noticed a sort of dip at the bottom. Elidelia pressed it, because what else are you going to do when you see something that could pressed.
    Elidelia didn't expect, was for the jewel to move and open up an entire cavern. And Elidelia did what any historian does, explore.
Once he was inside the cavern, the opening shut, leaving him in total darkness. 'Shit' Elidelia thought looking around to see if there was any other source of light. He didn't think to bring a glow stone as he did know that his night would turn to this. But regardless, he should've been more prepared. Elidelia swam blindly with his arms out, trying to feel for the wall of the cavern.
Grabbing around, Elidelia felt something that had a similar texture to wood on sunken ships. Hoping for things to not go to shit, he grabbed the thing.
Turns out, it was a torch. Not the Elidelia knew that, and boy was he sure as shit confused when the tip bursted into a light source. This wasn't glow stone bullshit, this was some warm shit that lit up the cavern and made navigation so much easier. Elidelia preferred this to a glow stone. And hey, this thing helped him see what looked like the bottom.
    Elidelia swam towards it hoping to find an exit of sorts but only saw a few scrolls and, could it be, books? Elidelia scrambled to gather the material in hopes of studying it later in his cavern.
    Once the material was stored safely in his bag, he continued to look around.  He spotted another opening that led to a long hallway. 'Fuck it I'm already here,' Elidelia thought before swimming into the cavern.
     It could have been about ten minutes of him just swimming down the hallway. Thankfully a light started to appear at the next turn. Elidelia picked up his pace, excited to see what other treasures this statue held.
    What Elidelia saw when he turned the corner, blew his fucking mind.
