So eddiepng talked about TikTok in his mementos book and it sparked something within me.
Now for those of you that don't know what TikTok is, TikTok, also known as Douyin in China, is a social media app for creating and sharing videos as well as live broadcasting. But this app has become "the second musical.ly." People with lip sync, make short funny videos, interact with their audience. Musical.ly was the same way.
This isn't a well known fact about me, but I used to have a musical.ly account. I primarily used it to look at cosplay, for that was my main interest in sixth-seventh grade. It still is. I would also on the occasion make musical.lys of my own cosplays and I would have fun. I genuinely was having so much fun just making videos, posting, and viewing other people's creations. Kinda like how I am with this app.
I eventually lost interest in the app and deleted it. And I haven't really touched it for almost a year? That is until I heard about TikTok. I first heard about from my friend Petunia. She was talking about all these memes. I didn't really care at the time, and just kinda forgot about it. Then my brother wanted to watch TikTok compilations while we were eating once, and he got into this tangent on the "furry vs. gamer" war, and I was honestly confused. I still am.
Now that main thing I noticed while watching this compilation was that if there was any cosplay or people just having fun, they got shit on.
Like if a furry was doing a little dance or something, some douche would make fun of them on the left. Or if someone was cosplaying a female character and they were a boy, someone would shit on them for that. I think the only good thing that came out of watching that compilation was that it gave me the song that the meme "hit or miss" was from. The original song is a diss track about the pornstar Mia Khalifa, called Mia Khalifa.

But honestly can't people just have fun without getting shut for it? I'm actually considering going back into this and see what people are making outside of the compilations. I might make videos on there, I might not, it just depends. But yeah. That's what I wanted to talk about.
