Let's just get into it, you know the drill.

Positive Steve!! Negative Steve!! :D

I really like their designs, Neg looks just so perfect and Pos is so sweet looking!
The contrasts are just ideal.

Also I thought it was ironic if I gave Neg a pink heart background.

So I noted the whole design choice of them vs. Infinity Steve, since I designed two versions- Negative-based and Positive-based.
I'll explain after each of the Infinity designs.

Negative!Infinity Steve is first!

So, I noted that when fighting, Neg!Infinity wears an eye patch and a mask. Neg!Infinity has the red/orange eyes normally, but his eyes flare up like a demon or something while fighting.

Negative Steve wears only an eye patch. And his eyes stay red/orange either way.

So, I came to the conclusion that when he's not merged with his brother, Negative hides his aggressiveness and, well, negativity.

Of course he does this mostly because of Positive not wanting him to kill random civilians. He naturally becomes less restrained when fighting, but wears the eye patch to ensure he doesn't go completely off the rails. It's like a physical reminder that he can and will be held responsible for his own actions– and that the bean is watching >:3

Neg!Infinity wears the bandanna while fighting thanks to Positive's will to keep his brother from killing anyone. The bandanna is specifically so he doesn't bite anyone- don't want to be tasting the blood of someone you never wanted to bite in the first place!

The eye patch is once again a reminder to Positive's presence. The staff may never even know it was Negative/Infinity, but Positive will always know.

Of course Positive is a little feral prankster himself, so even if he would give some brotherly advice to Neg he wouldn't go tattling on his bro.

Also the black tears and horns sort of represent like aggressiveness or something like that? Maybe power? But yeah Negative has them when he's Infinity, even if he's not immediately fighting.

Because he's not as restrained from getting upset and going feral when he's stronger –his power is merged with his brother's so he's stronger than before if they try to stop him– but also because he's no longer "himself" in a way.

He doesn't feel the need to purposefully avoid fights.
In the AU he often uses the myth that merging always makes a whole new entity and is not the layering of the consciousness of multiple Steves as an excuse.

So no need to deal with the consequences when you can just unmerge and use Infinity as a scapegoat so they can't charge you with crimes you committed while merged!
Positive doesn't get falsely blamed, Negative doesn't get blamed (immediately), it's a win-win!

Plus Negative has "control" of Infinity in a way while he's like this, so he only has to deal with his brother nagging him subconsciously.

And with the hair: since the way Negative acts as Infinity kinda draws the line between him being mostly in control and his brother only maybe like 30% in control, Neg!Infinity's hair is more split than Pos!Infinity.

So in a normal drawing, I would prob design him with a more obvious color split. But with Pos!Infinity, he'd have more orange-ish hair because the red and yellow are closer in color.

Pos!Infinity is who really got me started on this little collection of headcanons/AU ideas.

Like I mentioned in Neg!Infinity's bio sorta thing, Pos!Infinity has the two brothers a bit more in sync with each other.

They would probably pre-plan several pranks to pull off while Infinity/Pos!Infinity. When they merge as Pos!Infinity, everybody knows they gotta prepare for the prank war. They'd work together and share control while they cause mild to moderate chaos >:3

Neg!Infinity is like that chaotic 20-something relative you see doing insane stunts for literally no reason other than 'I was bored and you left me unsupervised.' He'd be that weirdly aggressive but kinda cool uncle who'd probably be chill if you said you accidentally murdered someone.

Meanwhile. Pos!Infinity would be said relative's sibling. May seem more normal/responsible, but in reality their chaotic nature is just tiny compared to the other's. Think 'vodka aunt' mixed with 'mom friend' and you get him. Most likely person to get 'chaotic uncle' person out of jail, but also most likely to do something stupid or insane b/c "it was fun/funny."

Pos!Infinity's worst crime would be like trespassing into a random yard because he saw a dog that just needed to be pet.
...Or maybe because he came to return a dish he "borrowed" and leave tiny plastic cats all over their yard. And roof.

Neg!Infinity's worst crimes would be arson and attempted/actual murder. But the dude was taunting him to stab them, so I guess that's fair. ¯\_( = -)_/¯

So no matter if Positive is himself or Infinity, he's always the kindest of the duo. Naturally.

But Negative tends to get him caught up in the embers of his chaos, which led Pos to being kind of intimidating. Pos is actually the tallest bean :3
So he naturally takes on the big brother role, keeping his little chaotic ball of a brother out of problems :p

But as Pos!Infinity, that responsibility is lifted off his shoulders. So instead of sometimes willingly joining in his brother's antics, they work together! Which really makes Positive happy!

And when Positive is really happy, he's even more wholesome than before!
Of course, he and his bro are both chaos gremlins, so that also means m o r e pranking >:3

If you manage to screw up so bad that you've got Pos!Infinity to fight you, then you screwed up b a d. Neg!Infinity would fight you if you breathe..or happen to be nearby.

Sometimes Positive/Pos!Infinity shows mercy, sometimes not.
He would kill you without hesitation if you hurt his loved ones.
He may let you live if it was slightly smaller. Like just Negative being Negative and dragging him into fights.

So I originally didn't realize the symbolism use for accessories, eye choices, and all that-

Like I realized I gave Pos!Infinity a little wire flower headpiece and not Positive himself. Groaned at the thought of having to redo the whole Pos/Neg section.
Same with the yellow and "demon" eyes, I didn't want to deal with remaking them because I wanted the screenshots to be in the same place the originals were.
You literally got a collection of headcanons b/c I was too lazy to make each of the eight designs all over again.

That was so long. Took..I think..like three days of writing.

Okay, let's move onto Rainbow Quest!

The main RQ Orange Steve!

There are no orange eyes so of course I had to use the red/orange ones.

The red flower is for his deceased Red Steve friend from the beginning! I have a headcanon that friends of different colors usually gift one another/wear an accessory of the other's color!

When Sabre and Orange became close, Sabre was given a bracelet with a dimond-shaped orange charm and felt bad for not having anything to give his friend.

So he made a headpiece made of feathers and twigs. Orange Steve laughed at the little makeshift thing.
But he held onto it til his last breath.

Okay let's just move on before things get sad.

It was so hard to design Orange!Rainbow Steve-
I remember showing this to someone and they said he looked like a ninja so do with that what you will-

Rainbow during his depression arc. Yeah, we're going there.

I saw the black tear option and just had to take the opportunity okayyy?

Also may or may not have forgotten to change the mouth-

And finally, the tragic villain arc.

Yes, his bow changes color for no reason. I was trying to make sure I got at least five of the colors no matter what.

The gas mask is due to being often surrounded by a lot of Darkness, no need to inhale more than you already have.

I actually kinda like this design ngl.

I guess you could consider the bottom design for when he's fighting or something.

Void Steve designs!

Now this is a more accurate design to canon RQ Void than SS Void.
Mainly just talking about the dark blue lol

Like Light, I guess the second version is like when Void needs to look fancy or something.

Three Dark Steve designs!

He is my favorite RQ antagonist boi UwU

Design 1 is during his time as Nightmare's henchman.
He has the black marks due to Night's insistence that he wear them to mimic his boss's own Darkness marks, to show to all that he is part of the Nightmare kingdom.

Design 2 is during the period of Dark realizing he can change his fate.
He started off with just removing the markings and Nightmare's chain necklace but soon he started letting his hair down.
Then his eyes changed to show his change in heart.

I guess you could say after Nightmare first got destroyed, Dark completely left behind his old life by changing to casual hoodies and letting his nicer side show.

Design 3 is when he and Sabre became friends.
He usually left his hair down, but this particular design is when he came to help Sabre destroy Void Steve.
He returned to wearing the outfit Nightmare gave him for battle, a bandanna from Sabre, and with his hair up again.

But he had finally accepted himself, fully revealing both sides of himself.
