Komainu, Koma, met Rye after leaving his village and almost falling off a cliff of doom. Correction, Koma DID fall down the cliff of doom, but Zeraora found him before anything TOO serious happened. When Koma woke up, he found Rye sitting there and just staring at him..
From that day forward, Koma has been able to understand pokemon for some reason, so he and Rye travel together to find out how and why the fall had awakened this understanding.
Koma wants to be a pokemon performer, or a pokemon coordinator!
Rye wants to be strong, and trains day and night to one day be the best trainer. Sounds clichè, and it sure is!
