Strikes are a CLOSED SPECIES, so do not make one without permission. They will be obtainable through adopts, customs (maybe), or if I just give you one (this is highly unlikely however).

Appearance:

Strikes are a species based on a combination of snakes and lizards. They have long, sleek, scaled bodies, with short legs. Each foot has three hooked claws, one on the side of each, which they use to climb up rocks and partway up small trees. They have venomous spikes on their heads, backs, and at the tips of their tails. They have large fangs in their mouths that retract when they are not using them. Each eye has two pupils, the frontmost one being slightly larger than the other. They are around one and a half feet tall and grow to be five to seven feet long.

General Info:

Strikes are reptiles, so they are hatched from eggs. They mature faster than humans, being considered a full grown adult at age eight. They have somewhat poor eyesight, but they can easily pick up on small movements in the environment around them. They can swim generally well, using their spikes like fins. They are carnivorous, eating small mammals and reptiles. They will eat fish on occasion. They do not chew their food, and instead swallow it whole.

Abilities:

Despite their short legs, they are a rather fast species, which is useful when chasing down prey. Their retractable teeth contain a venom that can weaken and sicken an opponent in a single bite. The spikes on their heads, backs, and tail tips also have a similar venom, except it is much weaker than it is in the fangs.

Society:

In their society, the strongest is the leader. Whoever can defeat all other strikes, including the current leader, will take ultimate control. They are an aggressive species, with little existing order in their society. There is a lot of cheating, lying, stealing, betraying, and even killing that goes on in their groups. In the eyes of other species, strikes are considered to be dangerous and untrustworthy.
