I'd like you all to meet Code, the Error Sans variant that ended up in DemonGuard (my in the works AU). He may not look it,  but he's been through a ton of stuff. He had been doing his job keeping the balance before getting in a big fight with Inky, a fight witch he lost, and in which Inky decided to give no mercy and dusted over half of Error's body before throwing him in an AU to rot. His plan didn't work out though as he wanted it to, since he ended up throwing Error into DemonGuard where Mage (DG!Sans) and Guard (DG!Papyrus) found him and brought him back to their home (A castle their father Gaster had used as a lab before his and his wife's untimely death, but his fraternal twin sons now use as a home and training school for the DemonGuard.) and set about trying to save the other's life. In the end to save the other the twins had to basically make what i'm going to call a soul contract to give the other enough magic to survive and have a chance at finding a new way to live.

What is a soul contract you might ask? Well, you see there are three main sentient species in DemonGuard: Monsters, Humans, and Demons. Now don't amuse that i mean the demonic entities that are ruled by satin, Demon is an acronym, like LOVE in undertale. Demon stands for Determined entities made of natural-magic. Because of this combination of magic and determination Demons have a special ability that allows them to create a two way connection between, normally, either a monster and a demon or a human and a demon. This connection allows both sides to freely transfer magic and raw soul trait essence. It also allows for Demons to pick up the emotions of those they are connected to as well as if need be remotely put them to sleep if the other side isn't strong enough to resist. It's not a permanent bond in most cases, at any time the Demon, or even the recipient if strong enough, can brake the bond so that both sides are free. normally Demons will ask permission to do this before hand as well as making sure the other side is OK with this, which is in part why i call it a soul contract, but in special cases like in the medical field demons will do this to increase the strength of someone who has been critically injured or deathly sick to give them a better chance of survive.

This worked in the end, though in the beginning Error wished that the two hadn't saved him. he felt completely and utterly worthless, like his life was over and he shouldn't be here. It took a total of six months before he physically recovered enough that the doctor who Mage and Guard got to help out with their newest help case, since the two seem to have a nac of going for those in need of help, decided that he was in good enough shape to start getting prosthetic.  it took another year relearning to walk and use his hands before Error started to realize he liked living in DemonGuard, and that that battle hadn't been the end of his life, it had been the new beginning.
