I think this one does deserve explaining. Toni struggles with a lot of things that don't get mentioned.

She's asexual because she's been harassed by others, nothing too serious but it made her distrust everything very quickly. She loves helping others, mostly her family. Though when Liam disappeared she felt awful. She felt like she was the reason that he disappeared that she hadn't tried hard enough.

When she found out that Liam had been abused by Marnie she felt awful because she didn't know, because she couldn't have stopped it, and because she couldn't do anything about it or couldn't help her own brother.
