Stuff my characters are inspired by (1)
Zeph Richelieu
Kirito from Sword Art Online and Jibril from No Game No Life. The appearance and "bland loner" personality of Kirito (except I messed [tortured] him up even more badly than Reki Kawahara messed up SAO), while having the (NGNL movie spoiler) apathetic and somewhat mentally unstable/psychopathic trait of Jibril. At first, he was supposed to be a joke character on the surface. A generic, badass kind of anime protagonist that you find in most adventure/harem shows. But then I revealed that he was a former rapist and mentally broken, which makes things pretty interesting.
Kieran "Abyss" Chaput
AB-CIR and Elluka from the Evillious Chronicles. He's being controlled, literally or not (but he's definitely influenced) by somebody above him like that nameless (and actually attractive) dude that I.R. took over when Haru Netsuma's body was fighting back. The nickname "Abyss" is a reference to Abyss I.R., an alias of the soul that previously controlled AB-CIR. Kieran's fondness for cats is also a reference to the red cat that is seen with every new body. He also has the same relationship with Margaret like Elluka's with Arth, Anne (, possibly Riliane), and Mariam. Kieran has Elluka's capricious nature and childish surface as well.
Margaret Belphame
Margarita and Riliane (Lucifen d'Autriche) from the Evillious Chronicles. Margaret's name is obviously inspired by Margarita's (because I didn't have any good names at the time), as well was Margaret's slothful personality. Riliane because she essentially collapsed her own kingdom (though intentionally), and died because of it. Except that Margaret actually died. Anyway, like Riliane's title of "The Daughter of Evil", Margaret will be known as "The Princess of Acedia".
Iris
Irina/I.R./AB-CIR/Abyss I.R./Julia from the Evillious Chronicles and Iris from Greek mythology. Her name, Iris, is supposed to be ironic because Iris is the Greek personification of rainbows, while my Iris burns down orphanages. Iris is also a reference to Irina's multiple aliases. In fact, she was initially supposed to be a ripoff of Irina to explain Kieran's backstory, because I wasn't planning to flesh her out. She was supposed to be the "mysterious mage" Kieran talks about who took him and and left without warning one day, nothing more. I decided to expand on her character later, even tough she's a blatant ripoff.
Stephanie Austrife
Chartertte and Yukina from the Evillious Chronicles. Chartette because of her "country" personality, respect for her father, and future betrayal of Margaret. Yukina because she later becomes an author that writes about the Margaret "backstage". I actually made her up as a character I would be portraying in a monologue for my theatre class. A somewhat sassy, easily-annoyed maid with a heart for family. I just simply tied her in with Margaret to give the monologue a little more context/background/story. Then, I kept her and simply expanded on her character since then.
