that bsd thingy

so yknow when i was talking about how chuuyas concept of being a literal god of destruction incarnate was not used as a focus of a show and how i was gonna steal it and use it Hunterphantomhive46

well i done it

i started off by making notes about the boyo himself and a person with great relevance to his character development i t h i n k

considering they were a duo id say yes

so i looked at a whole bunch of stuff and break him down to the things i wanted, like the reds for an active character, that he has sharp features, is smol, has nice clothes, a hat and c a n s i n g

then at the bottom i put other bits of inspiration i wanted to look at and then i drew this

This is Ozuru. Part of me wants to ditch the longer hair to make it look less like Chuuya, but I said to Hell with it I like it like that and cutting off hair is normally used as a turning point in stories, so I'm just going to keep that in the back of my head if I need it.

I'ma start with Arahabaki - that weird thing in the top middle - because it has no personality since it's mindless, so it's easier to explain. So, I was looking at what is believed to be a depiction of the actual God (people believe that the clay doll I put in my references with my Chuuya notes is what the God looks like, whereas other people say that it's not the God and is an item) and how the show described the God. The way the show described the God is really... bland. It's basically a big black wolf, which isn't fun. I also saw this picture I really like of Chuuya with all these tentacles things, so I sorta mashed all these things together and that's how this design came into existence.

Obviously, I wanted how Ozuru looked to vibe similarly to Chuuya. When I was drawing his hair, I was really conflicted about colour and hair length, but I really wanted to give it a Zelda BOTW Link sort of look and the red is sort a must due to the colour palette. So, I tinted the ginger a whole lot more red, but it looks more ginger with the rest of his colours, and put a hairband in his hair and made it shorter to try and make it different. As for the rest of his outfit, I was inspired a lot by Hazbin Hotel (by Angel Dust and Charlie's dad). I really liked the use of pink and white, but I also wanted to have this hint of black or a darker colour to give the colour notation of being authoritative. I decided to tint this darker colour purple, as it indicates mystery which I think works because I'd prefer for whatever plot I bullshit to have him not know he's a God incarnate. I liked the idea of using lighter colours because it gave him a more friendly look, which plays into how I want him to act.

I want him to be cocky first, overconfident in his abilities and strength and not scared to taunt an enemy with that fact. Despite that, I also imagine him being very reasonable and very compassionate towards his friends (who I imagine essentially being his family), which is why I leaned towards lighter colours in the design as well. I think that he would be a sympathetic person in general, but can easily lose that sympathy to people he thinks doesn't deserve it. I imagine him getting very angry when his family is threatened, or his identity. Since I made it so he can sing, I think he would want to show it off, but due to the care of his friends (one of the other characters whole thing is music and singing) doesn't want to show off, yet keeps his microphone on him with the excuse of if she ever needs to use it.

And his name, briefly. I picked Sakurai because of Masahiro Sakurai - he's the bloke that made Kirby. Sakurai means cherry blossom well, which fits the whole thing where I was trying to put pink into his design. Ozuru means stork, which I thought was a foil to being a death God incarnate, as storks are associated with life and delivering children.

I took notes on Dazai as well because I thought the way his intelligence and sadness and just entire character impacted Chuuya when they worked together was important

When I was looking at inspiration, I thought I'd make him Omoikane but having took human form to make the whole being able to dispel Arahabaki thing hold more sense without being direct rip (ill go more into this later)
I looked at things that looked constricting, since the bandages were used in Dazai's design to make him look constricted - like he held a secret. I was originally thinking about gloves and or a tattoo, but ultimately decided on the strings show in the DDLC picture

So, this is Satoshi. The colours aren't particularly as neutral as I liked, since one of my main notes with Dazai were the fact that the colour green was an extra and he mostly wore neutrals, but I think the blue worked out for the feel of this character.

I drew him with a lot of string wrapped around his neck and his hand and his waist, as well as a bit around his ankle, to make him look constricted. I also decided to give him a waist trainer for two reasons. The first one is to fit in with that constricted feel, but the other reason is that I thought it'd be fun to make the Gods have a slight issue with their back. Like, it bends more than usual, then I imagine Satoshi's back being so bad that he might as well be an invertebrate and he needs to wear a waist trainer to stand up straight. The wobbly back is also similar to the loose flesh that attached the eye to the brain, which I thought matched the Omoikane design which was inspired from Shin Megami Tensei and some Hazbin Hotel bits. I imagine that with the stings around his fingers in either form, he's able to puppet people to some degree. And, of course, as Omoikane is meant to be the God of wisdom and shit, I imagine him being a ridiculous level of smart, but also very flimsy physically. I liked the idea of him having eyes that never stop watching, too.

I imagine him as being intelligent, obviously, and very theatrical in his speaking patterns and mannerisms. I also imagine him as being slimy in a way, being able to slip out of rough spots with ease and using his words to his advantage. Conniving at times, as well as a good manipulator. Another thing I imagine him as is never too happy, never overjoyed. Maybe the small bit here or there, but I imagine him mostly feeling bored, or sometimes downright depressed. I think he would absolutely adore acting, as it would allow him to take him out of his own mindset and into the mindset of somebody else. He would enjoy being a different person when he can, essentially.

I picked Satoshi for one simple reason: it means intelligent history. I don't think I need to explain that too much.

Sorano Saito. I based her around the idea of a siren. I'm pretty happy with how she came out.

I wanted her to look very ethereal - a natural beauty. I made her slim, her hands dainty. I wanted her hair light to give her a sort of look like she would blend into the clouds and live there, so I wanted to give her lighter skin as well. I wanted her to look Godly and pure and innocent, the last two often being associated to the colour white which is why I wanted her to be pale. The blue in her eyes is there because blue is calm, clear and can seem sweet. I mean, it's more cyan, but still. When I was doing her clothes, I wanted her usual outfit to seem casual with regal flare. So, I gave it a modern dancer vibe with the cropped hoodie, shorts and them socks. I made it purple, as that was the colour that most royals have historically used purple or indigo to show off their money as it was an expensive dye. I put wings on her crop top to match with sirens being bird-like creatures (for as much as modern day have tied sirens more to mermaids). The dress to the right was just something I drew that could be a potential plot point, like she has to pretend to be a certain way or something. The more red design is her job. I imagine that she would be a stripper in her spare hours, as she needs to support her younger sister as well as herself and struggles to be employed elsewhere. And the red is there to indicate passion and all that shizznizz.

I imagine her being a bit snarky, the sarcastic sort that mocks the situation that she ends up in. I believe that she would have very good self-efficacy, knowing what she can and can't do and knowing not to attempt something that, if failed, will cause a massive problem. I think her body language would be very promiscuous to match her night job, but unintentionally so. It would essentially be motor memory at that point because she's done it so much. I also imagine her at being good at adapting to situations, able to change her course of action to match to whatever is required of her.

Also, I haven't decided what to call it yet, but like BSD's abilities and MHA's quirks, I imagine there being people who can do speccy things. For Sorano, I imagine that as her voice. Her voice is so enchanting that it makes people infatuated with her, much like the siren, which can make people obey her to some degree, but not break the affected from their personality. For example, a violent person would be violent to those in the way of his goal of whatever Sorano gave him and not stop being violent if ordered to.

Sorano means sky, you know like Sora and Soran. Siren = bird people, so yeet. Saito is meant to indicate purity, as Sai is something that monks ate or something like that.

This is Leo. When I made him, I had Chad from bleach in the back of my head a bit so I made him half Spanish OH SHIT HE WAS MEANT TO BE PARTIALLY GREEK THAT WAS WHY I GAVE HIM THE GREEK NOSE IM SO STUPID
Okay back to the original story about him I just remembered. I wanted him to seem Grecian, so to fix the name thing I'm just going to say his mother had an affinity to art so baso the davicini slid in there So, he's half Greek, half Japanese

I wanted a straight-lace attitude to come across in his body language, so I gave him a very straight back. With his colour palette, I was thinking about the aurora borealis. I wanted him to be a dancer as his professional job, so I wanted his design to be elegant but also semi-casual. So, since the aurora borealis is very elegant, I stole its colours. With the clothes, I thought the sash instead of a belt would be more flow-y and generally how there are hardly any wrinkles in his usual clothes added to that. I wanted his home clothes to be very relaxed, however. Loose, baggy and he hadn't done his hair. Despite that, I still imagine him standing as straight as humanly possibly. I also thought the frosted tips in his hair made his design look more cohesive.

I imagine him as being very straight-lace. He wants everything done right by a certain time and he wants everything neat and tidy. If it's not done right, he doesn't think that it's worth doing. I imagine him being obsessively clean, getting stressed when something isn't tidy and having a very strong urge to drop everything and just clean. However, I don't imagine him as a straight-up person. I think he would want to phrase things nicely to people, and talk to them nicely - I doubt that he would be fun of scolding people constantly. Friendly, but simultaneously very, very straight-laced.

I imagine his ability being able to manipulate light into solid objects, but there would be a very large restriction on mass. It would be better for him to make a sharp object like an arrow instead of a war hammer, as the war hammer would be very light weight and be nothing more than a bonk on the head.

Leo's name, as I said earlier, is now because of the painter. And Sugimori is there because of Ken Sugimori. Actually, that works out since both of those people are artists.

This is Gumo. I'm kind of unhappy that I made the shirt the same colour as the leg colours, but I wanted to use less colours so yeah. He's the villain and I imagine him being a hired contractor

I based him on a creature in Japanese mythology called the Tsuchigumo, which is basically a giant spider. The bottom of his jacket is meant to be like the abdomen of a spider, whereas his belt and the belt of his jacket is meant to look like extra appendages. I tried to make him look segmented with the different fabrics on his legs and by having the sleeves of his jacket rolled up only to have the cuffed sleeve beneath. His bolo tie has the tie part look like spider legs, as do the laces on his shoes and the parts of his hair either side of his head is meant to look like spider fangs. His colour palette is pretty simple - I based it on the Mexican redknee tarantula. They have this rusty colour and this dark colour, which works out. With his eyes, I wanted them to look dull, so I avoided giving him a catch light or pupil. I just faded out the pupil where it should have been into the rest of the eye. I also gave him sharp teeth. because spiders. have fangs. I put him en pointe so that his legs matched how it looks like spiders don't have feet.

I think that he would be very sadistic, so he would rather mess around with people instead of go straight for the kill. I think he would be focused on having as much fun as the deadline of a job would allow. I think he'd be sadistic both emotionally and physically, enjoying seeing a mess happen. I also imagine him as being a jokester, but not when working. However, if someone starts joking, I imagine him being unable to resist and having to join in. I imagine him inherently only wanting to have fun in life with the way he wants to have fun, being without morals. I also think he would get frustrated if something got in the way for that.

As for the speccy thing he can do, it's grow an additional four arms that are functional. That's about it. Arm growing. 10/10

I named him Tsuchigumo, after the beast, but he calls himself Gumo. Yatsukahagi is either a place the beast is from or another name for the beast, but I can't remember which.

Just some extras.

Tomoni is Sorano's younger sister. Whereas Sorano is based on a siren, Tomoni is based on a banshee. She's normally a happy kid, but her crying and screeching indicates a whole lot of danger (but I don't imagine this being known). I based her look on a banshee as well, as one account of them has them described with red hair but the rest of them - clothes and skin - being very pale. I also imagine her having a scar on her eye.

Sebastian Fortier is Satoshi's boyfriend. Honestly, the only reason he exists is because I felt like it, therefore I did. First, he's French. Second, I believe he'd know Satoshi is Omoikane incarnate. I imagine him being a sweet person, a rock for people to lean on. I also think he would be very business-savvy and be Satoshi's financial support.

I imagine Satoshi, Ozuru, Sorano and Leo all being in a gang together and that being a source of income for him. For Sorano, I don't imagine her making enough from it to keep her and her sister fine. For Ozuru, it would be enough. For Leo, it would be, but he likes to dance so does it as a career in spare time. Satoshi is reckless with money for the Hell of it, so Sebastian supports him.
