Arcadia

I normally do design first and place after, but i did the reverse for this which is weird for me

Like with adriel because of how he looks and what he likes ik what kind of place he would live in and things like that

But cuz i did place first, i actually had to design who might like a place like that and it was a hot moment but it got there eventually

So

Arcadia

This is a closed off town run by a fascist dictator that controls heavily the information that is available to the citizens of his town, the type of jobs and whatnot the citizens can do and casually removes anybody who disagrees discretely. Once people come to the town, they don't leave. The rare exception are people who have to come to check on the town to make sure it's not another Jonestown situation, but the town often past those checks because of some excellent lying skills based on the truth of the evidence.
It's based on the leader's ideology of what a perfect world might look like with how it is built and how resources and information are spread. The intent is to make a place that is perfect for people, removed from violence and crime and debauchery, but launched by selfish desires to create this and be at the top of this.

This is Arcadia Square, the town centre.

It's the heart of the town and is populated by various market stalls which radiate outwards (more that just the four shown in the picture). They sell various items, inclusive of food (as the markets replace actual shops), toys and stationary. There are other tidbits like books or art supplies. If something is needed, it can be found in Arcadia Square.

This is the Eden Corner - the residential quarters.

This is one corner of the town, as the name suggests. It's just rows and rows of homes that people live in. Though the town generally has a naturalistic approach to how it looks, doors tend to be automated for their convenience. The citizens are educated about the environment heavily and the leader lies to them about where the electricity is sourced for the doors (he says it comes from solar panels and some wind energy, which is partially true, but some comes from some not so good sources). Citizens have a rota of whose turn it is to water the plants in the Eden corner.

The southernmost area of the town hosts the Elysian Fields, which is a meadow.

The edge of the town rests on the edge of river on the southern edge, which is where they get most of their water supply. It's an area for citizens to relax, fish, have picnics and play games. It's a place of leisure and is where the citizens get to interact with the leader most casually (normally they interact with him professionally when working). If any plants are removed to be potted elsewhere in Arcadia, they are always replanted in the meadow.

The Butterfly Hall, otherwise known as the 'Cloud' Factory, hidden away in another corner of the town.

Citizens are made to believe that this factory can produce clouds. They are also informed that is the production site of a lot of the goods that they have in the town and that it helps the environment by using sources that do not harm the environment (yet another lie). Only high-profile members of the town are allowed to work there and, if any workers speak of what happen in the Butterfly Hall, they get sent into an experimentation area which happens in the basement of the factory. Workers who speak on what happens or citizens who oppose the views of Arcadia are sent there to be experimented on with a lot of prototype items, such as dangerous injections or mutilation of their bodies. Citizens are not allowed to pass the gate, unless they work there. It has only managed to get past inspection by showing the ground floor of the factory.

The Venus Complex, an office complex located in the northern centre of the town.

This is a hub for work, where a good amount of the people in Arcadia work in (outside of the factory, supermarket and those who fish or garden for a living). There is a small hospital off to the side (not pictured), but it's not often used as a lot of the people in Arcadia are healthy and don't have a lot of emergencies. As a result, hospital workers have office jobs on the day to day, but go to the hospital in the event that a citizen needs care or a diagnosis or anything of the sort. There is also a gym present in the complex on the ground floor, so that citizens can get a regular amount of exercise if they so choose (it's highly encouraged, so most do).

Here is the Guidance Plaza, a hub for education located to the west of the town.

It houses an outdoor museum about the history of the town, containing statues of the leader and his wife. There are plenty of pedestals of information, noting only good things about the two leaders and any hardships that they had to go over. There is the odd bad thing here or there made to look good, so that it doesn't seem overboard cult to outsiders. There is also a school, which teaches regular lessons (though certain information to them is restricted, as to best avoid rebels). The internet here and through the rest of the town is also highly monitored.

The Jade House, where the leader lives on the east side of Arcadia.

Quite simply, it's the home of his wife, him and his children, set away (but close to) the Eden corner. he gets away with this difference by saying that he hides upcoming projects that will help the town there, doing something 'new' to the town every now and then so that the citizens will continue to believe him.

Here is the lovely leader.

His name is Morgan and, when he made Arcadia, he coined his wife's last name to look less odd (Abere).

Some physical stuff first. He's a fairy. His blond hair has a grey streak in the front (which I can't tell how easy they are to say) and purple eyes that look somewhat blue. The markings on his body completely cover the right half of him, from the top of his torso down to his ankle, and are also very sensitive. For example, a small squeeze where the markings are could actually cause him some mild pain instead. His wings are torn from an incident when getting kicked out of where he used to live, resulting in his magical abilities (mostly nature based) to take a hit and lessen. He's 5"8.

For his personality, I imagine him having good intentions. When he meets a new person, his surface kindness is also actual kindness. However, if someone opposes him or bothers him, his kindness is only surface-level. I imagine him being very manipulative, sometimes intentionally and sometimes not. For example, he might be around someone that he does like, but accidentally manipulate them into doing something for him because he's not paying attention to his choice of words. I also imagine him having a high focus on the overall result of something. Like with the Cloud Factory, he's thinking about the overall results of his experiments than the people who get harmed in the process. He's also sadistic - essentially everything that Adriel was initially meant to be, but ended up very, very loosely being.

This is Silene Abere, Morgan's wife.

So, the physical stuff. She's a succubus, she got sharp teeth and has a mildly higher body temperature than usual. She's 6"4 and her markings will move to any site of injury on her body, if it has broken the skin or something internal. Otherwise, they stay put.

I also imagine her being very kind and the respectful sort. Even if someone disagrees with her, she'll still like them and want to be around them, which is a foil to her husband's attitude to who disagrees with her. Sometimes Morgan would give passing comments about her that are negative, but I feel like she would brush them off, pretend they didn't happen externally and continue with whatever was going on. However, if she feels very, very strongly about something, I then feel like her emotions would be more extreme as a result. Apart from that, I imagine her being pleasant, trying to offer advice to people and wanting to make them feel welcome.

Here are their midgets.

Jinn and Sylph.

Jinn is 17 and Sylph is thirteen.

I imagine Jinn being very extroverted in closed groups, but very introverted in larger groups. Doesn't like a crowd. Despite the way he dresses, I imagine him being a goody-two shoes and wanting to stay out of trouble.

Despite Sylph being younger, I would imagine her to be the smarter sibling. I think that she would disagree with how her parents are running the town and have a very calm mannerism about her.

Also, side note: I imagine Morgan sending the two off to do things for him, like get in with people who are going behind his back to get information on them.

A side note about the town: they don't have cars, they ban marks on the body (henceforce why all of the Aberes hide the marks on them) and alcohol is also a ban. If it's bad, it ain't there.
