➴ Art and Music ➶

Hey ho! Before getting to the Oneshot, I just want to say that I did get inspiration from the manga "Twin Role," so I recommend that you guys check it out, too! Also, warning for OOC RevDipper! (OOC means Out-Of-Character) This Oneshot is for Mabel--Pines' contest that she's holding. Anyways, here we go!

"Woohoo! That's another award for art department!" A classmate of Pacifica's shouted.

Pacifica laughed. "What are you talking about? You all got awards, too."

"Not as big as yours! You were first place out of all one hundred fifty people!" Her cousin and classmate, Gideon exclaimed.

"Yeah! We'll beat the music department for sure!"

Pacifica smiled and watched as everyone celebrated their victories. She glanced up at the clock and saw that it was almost 5:00 pm.

"I have to go, guys! See you next week!" Pacifica shouted running off in the direction of her home.

When she rushed to her room and immediately took out her laptop.

She quickly checked the top ten newest trending videos, and was thrilled to see "Accident" at the top.

"Yeah!" Pacifica shouted out excitedly.

She opened up her chat messages and started typing.

"Kuri! We made it to first place again!"

Pacifica waited until she saw the text message bubble and smiled.

"I saw! It's all because of you, Paci! I never could have done this if it was just me," Was Kuri's immediate reply.

"No way, it was because of your awesome music! That's what gave it all the feeling! All I did was animate the background." Pacifica typed.

"Well, I still think that it was all because of you. Anyways, I've got to go. Let's talk tomorrow, k?" Kuri asked.

"Definitely!"

Pacifica closed the chat and turned off her laptop. She sighed contently before reaching over her desk to grab a pencil and papers to sketch.

As another school day came around, Pacifica arrived early as usual and headed straight for the art room. As she was walking through the halls, she heard praise of Kuri's music and smiled.

"She's getting praised here, too, huh? I've gotta tell her about it later," Pacifica thought happily.

She also heard some news about a new transfer student in the music department, which somewhat piqued her interest.

Pacifica continued walking until she passed the music room. Both doors were wide open, and when she peeked inside, she saw a group of people surrounding someone playing the piano. Pacifica watched curiously from the doorway as the person finished up the song and everyone clapped. As they stood from the seat, Pacifica saw a young, quite handsome man, probably around the same age as her. He had brown, somewhat messy hair and blue eyes. His bangs slightly covered a strange mark on his forehead. Was that the transfer student?

"Wow! Dipper, that was beautiful!" Music department students complimented.

"Of course it was. I'm the one who played it," Dipper said arrogantly.

Pacifica immediately cringed as people kept complimenting and praising him and he answered with cold comments. Girls blushed as they looked at him and he just turned away. She started walking to the art classroom again. From what she saw already, she didn't like that transfer student.

As lunch came around, Pacifica sat outside against a wall, eating her lunch while drawing sketches of the background for her and Kuri's new music video. She sat quietly, listening to the sound of the wind through the trees and humming "Accident" to herself.

Suddenly, a noise came from above her as a window opened and a figure jumped beside her. She almost screamed in surprise, but a hand came over her mouth to stop her. Pacifica looked over to see who it was and her eyes widened as she met the transfer students.

Above her, a few girls walked by the window. Pacifica heard them calling for Dipper.

"Guess he's hiding, but why here?" She thought.

She then realized that his hand was still touching her, so she pushed him away.

"What do you think you're doing?" Pacifica asked angrily.

Dipper drew back. "What do you mean? Any girl would be happy if I touched her."

"Well not everyone likes you, ya know? Just don't touch me so casually again," Pacifica picked up her stuff and ran off.

Dipper watched her go with a questionable look before turning away. His eyes drew themselves towards a white sheet of paper left behind. He picked it up and looked at the sketch. His eyes widened.

"This is the background for our music video..." He muttered under his breath.

After school, as Pacifica was packing up her bags, she realized that one of her sketch pieces were gone.

"What? Where did it go?" She murmured as she rummaged through her bag.

Pacifica heard a cough from behind her and turned around to see Dipper standing there.

She groaned. "What do you want?"

He didn't say anything and simply showed her a piece of paper. Pacifica stared at his poker face curiously before looking at the paper to see her own sketch. She gasped.

"Ah! You found my sketch!" She tried to grab it but he quickly pulled the papers away.

"I'll give you your papers back in exchange for your name," Dipper said.

"Huh?" Pacifica asked, dumbfounded.

Dipper sighed. "What's your name?"

Pacifica looked at him strangely before slowly saying, "...Northwest...?"

Dipper gave her a hard look. "First name?" He asked in a bored tone.

She glared at him. "Pacifica."

Dipper stared at her thoughtfully. "Paci, huh?" He said quietly.

"Eh?"

Dipper shook his head. "Never mind. Here." He handed her the paper before stalking off and saying, "And the name's Dipper."

Pacifica stared after him questionably.

"What's his problem?"

As Dipper entered his shared room, he let out a sigh of relief and plopped himself in his desk chair next to his laptop. Just as he opened it to the lock screen, the bathroom door opened to reveal his twin sister coming out while drying her hair.

"Oh, you're home. Homeschool was boring today," She said as she got a cup of ice cream from the mini fridge.

"Mable, you won't believe what happened!" Dipper exclaimed excitedly, grinning like an idiot.

"Mmm," Mable said through a spoonful of ice cream.

"I met Paci at school! Her name is Pacifica Northwest, and she's the protist of the art department. She really is great at drawing," Dipper said dreamily.

Mable chucked her empty ice cream carton at Dipper's back before standing up to get another one from the mini fridge. "Great. Now you can just confess to her. You always did say that you, and I quote, "loved her even though you never knew who she was in real life."

Mable sat down crisscross in the arm couch and opened up her ice cream.

Dipper opened up his chat and typed in, "Hey Paci! What are you doing right now?"

"Do you think she likes me, too?" Dipper asked, turning his head towards Mable.

"Yeah, but not in the way you're thinking of," Mable said.

"Eh? Why?" Dipper asked.

Mable said nothing and pointed at the laptop screen. Paci had replied.

"Nothing much. Just started working on the animation for the video."

"Already? I just sent you the music for it yesterday," Dipper typed.

"It's fine. I like doing this. Besides, it helps me distract myself from my troubles," Paci said.

Dipper was curious. "Troubles? What troubles?"

"Well, there's this new transfer student in the music department at school that has been bothering me," Paci replied.

Dipper stared at the screen, dumbfounded. "I'm a transfer student in the music department..."

"How so?"

"Well, I don't like how he acts. He's so arrogant."

A sound of glass shattering was heard from Dipper. Mable looked at him and stood up to look at his screen.

"He also might be a pervert. He was too touchy." Paci continued to type.

Now the sound of an anvil falling was heard. Dipper felt like he was shot through the heart.

Mable just laughed. "Looks like she hates you, ya pervert!"

"I-If I tell her that I'm Kuri, she'll like me, right?" Dipper asked desperately.

"Probably not. If she hates you, then she'll hate Kuri if she finds out, right? If that happens, your only connection to her will be gone," Mable said thoughtfully.

Dipper slumped in his seat, his face on the table in a depressed manner.

Mable went back to her seat and sat crisscrossed again.

Suddenly, the door to their room was opened and the menacing voice of their uncle shouted at them.

"Dipper! Sit up straight! What have I told you about sulking like that! Mable! A lady doesn't sit like that! Stop lazing about!"

Both of them immediately straightened themselves.

"Dear uncle!" Dipper exclaimed, his narcissistic act kicking in. "Why would someone as great as me sulk?"

"And why would I ever act non-ladylike? Surely such would never happen!" Mable said, sitting straight and proper.

"Mable, I have given you home etiquette lessons and I expect progress from them. Dipper, I have already told you that you are a great musician-to-be and you have to act as a force better than others!" Their uncle, Stan Gleeful, said strictly.

"Yes uncle," The both replied as he exited the room.

They relaxed and Mable continued to eat her ice cream while Dipper continued to sulk about his unrequited love.

At school, Pacifica continued to work on the animation for the music video during lunch. She had pulled an all-nighter just to work on the animation, and now it was almost done. Pacifica yawned but didn't take notice. She suddenly started feeling a bit drowsy. She looked at the clock on her tablet and noticed that there were still twenty minutes until the end of lunch break.

"Maybe I can... just... doze off... for... a little..." Pacifica muttered as she slowly fell asleep.

Meanwhile, Dipper, in the attempt of escaping his pursuers, had reached around the hidden and quiet part of the courtyard and found the sleeping Pacifica.

"Uhh... Pacifica?" Dipper asked slowly as he approached the blonde.

She didn't respond as he sat down beside her. He timidly waved a hand in front of her face to make sure she was a sleep before giving off a small smile.

Dipper hugged his knees as he reached over to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. He then noticed the tablet on Pacifica's lap and saw that the screen was still open. He grabbed it and looked at the screen.

As he watched what she had already made for the animation, he smiled to himself.

"So this is how she works before giving me the final products, huh?" He muttered.

He turned the tablet off and set it carefully in her lap. Dipper stroked her silky hair and smiled again.

"Don't overwork yourself, yeah?"

Dipper leaned towards her to give her a kiss on her head, but at that moment, Pacifica's eyes opened and she saw as his face was right next to hers.

"P-Pervert!" She yelped in alarm as she slapped him in the face.

"Oww! What the heck?!" Dipper shouted.

"What was your face doing so close to mine?!" Pacifica retorted angrily.

"I just wanted to see how ugly your face was up close!" Dipper said.

"That's not true and you know it! She's beautiful!" Dipper scolded himself.

"Well now that you're done, please go away!" Pacifica said as she took out her phone and earbuds and started making the animation again.

Dipper stayed right next to her as she drew and watched quietly. He stared at her concentrated face as she worked.

"What are you listening to?" Dipper asked after a few minutes.

"It's "Accident," Pacifica answered absentmindedly. She turned to Dipper. "Do you know it?"

"Yeah. The music isn't all that much, but the animation is amazing," Dipper said.

Pacifica gasped. "He made fun of Kuri!" She thought angrily.

She stood up and packed up her stuff before running off.

"Ah- wait!" Dipper shouted after her but she didn't turn back.

"...What did I say...?"

As soon as Dipper got home, there was a notification on his chat.

"Kuri, I hate the transfer student."

Thunk!

Mable came into the room at that moment to see a corpse on the desk.

"I'm not gonna be seen here with a dead body," Mable said as she headed back to the door.

"Waaiitt... siisss..." Dipper slowly got up and turned towards Mable.

She flinched in surprise when she saw all the tears and mucus dripping from her brother's face. Texts kept popping up on the screen. Words like "annoying," and "crazy." "Narcissistic" and "cruel."

"She hates meee... she says she hateeesss mmeee..." Dipper wailed.

Mable walked up to him and violently shook him by the shoulders. "Snap out of it! Just try to make amends later!"

"But she hatees mee!" Dipper continued.

"I told you to snap out of it!" Mable kept shaking him.

"Pacifica," Dipper said as he approached her the next day. She quickly walked away from him.

"Pacifica," Dipper tried again as he walked by her in the hallway with his fan girls tailing him. He reached over to grab her shoulder but she just ran away.

"Pacifica!" Shouted as he popped his head out of the window of said girl's usual lunch spot, but she wasn't there.

"Pacificaa!" Dipper cried out, almost desperately, as she fled from him. "Why are you ignoring me!?"

"Maaabbllee...!" Dipper cried as he got home and faced his sister.

"Ugh. Geez, would you just shut up?" Mable complained.

"She hates me. She definitely hates me. She's been avoiding me at school and won't even let me apologize," He sulked, rolling on the floor.

Mable kicked him in the back hard and he yelped.

"You've got a notification," She said in a bored tone.

Dipper jumped up and raced towards his laptop. He quickly turned it on and checked his notifications.

"Hey Kuri! I just finished the animation! o(^^)o" Paci chatted.

"Wow, you sure are quick," Dipper typed.

"Of course! I love doing this! ^^" Paci replied.

Dipper smiled at the screen. "I'm glad. I do too."

Pacifica just got to school and when she went to her desk in the art room, she realized that a trash can was dumped on it and her chair was missing.

"What the...?"

Later in the day, when Pacifica went to her gym period, she noticed that her gym clothes weren't in her locker. She furrowed her eyebrows as she stared at the empty space.

It was the end of the school day and Pacifica headed for her locker. When she opened it, a whole bunch of trash fell out.

"Well that definitely wasn't there before," She muttered.

Pacifica carried bags of the trash out to the back of the school and dumped them in the trash can. She didn't really understand why they were doing those to her, nor did she have a clue of who it was doing it to her.

A bush rustled behind her and Pacifica turned around, surprise.

"What are you doing here?" A familiar voice asked.

Pacifica frowned before turning around. "It's nothing. Just taking out some trash."

She heard a 'humph' from behind her, followed by a question.

"Hey, uh, could I talk to you?" Dipper asked.

"Sorry, I've gotta go home now. I've got something to do," Pacifica said coldly, walking off and past him.

She still didn't like how he called Kuri's music "all that much." Her music was beautiful. It was the only type of music that could truly move her. Kuri was her friend and she didn't like how someone would diss her music that she worked so hard on.

Dipper watched as she stalked off. He stared at the floor and scowled at himself.

"Dang it."

Pacifica was walking towards the door with her head down that she didn't notice the sound of a window sliding open above her. Dipper followed her out and immediately heard the window open. He looked up and saw some girls with a bucket of water. They were all smirking and eyeing Pacifica, obviously not aware of his presence.

His eyes widened in alarm, knowing what they were about to do.

Dipper ran quickly towards Pacifica. She heard his footsteps and turned around. She gasped when he pulled her towards him, hugging her close to her body. Her face heated up in embarrassment of being so close to him.

"What are yo-" She shouted, but was cut off by the sound of water splashing on him.

Dipper was now soaking wet, but he had just protected Pacifica from getting wet as well. He let go of her to keep her dry, but kept a hold of her shoulders.

"Are you alright? Hurt? Wet?" He asked persistently.

Pacifica stood there in shock. The person she (supposedly) despised the most, the prodigy of the music department, had just saved her. Her.

"A-Ah, yeah. Why did you-" Pacifica started, before getting cut off once more by Dipper as he shouted at the culprits.

"Hey, I remember you guys! You kept following me around all the time! What do you think you're doing? Dumping water on people like that!" He said angrily.

"D-Dipper!" The girls shouted in shock and embarrassment.

"W-Why are you protecting someone from the art department?" One of them shouted.

"Answer me!" Dipper growled.

The girls flinched. "W-We didn't want her hanging around you, so we were teaching her a lesson," A girl said timidly.

"Get out of here and don't touched her again!" He scowled.

The girls scattered and Dipper turned back towards Pacifica. He sighed.

"Sorry. It's my fault that you were bullied. The only reason that I was calling after you was because I wanted to apologize."

"Apologize?" Pacifica questioned.

"Whatever I said to you a few days ago, I didn't mean it. Or at least I didn't know what I said wrong. I didn't mean to make you mad. Whatever I said, I'm sorry," Dipper said, sincerely.

Pacifica could tell that he actually meant what he said, judging by the look in his eyes.

Pacifica smiled softly. "Yeah. It's fine now."

Dipper smiled back. Suddenly, her realized that he was touching her. Dipper pulled away abruptly.

"A-Ah! Sorry! I-I didn't mean to-" Dipper rambled.

"Don't worry about it," Pacifica said, setting a hand on his shoulder as she walked by him. "Let's go get you a towel."

As she started walking, she looked at her hand that she placed on Dipper's shoulder, before grabbing her mouth.

"His smile was cute..."

Dipper sighed as he left the bathroom. The warmth from the room left and cold air blasted in his face. He picked up his wet uniform and dumped it in the laundry bin. Dipper headed towards his desk and plopped in his seat. He turned on the computer logged into his account. He quickly typed into the chat.

"Hey Paci! Are you online?" Dipper asked.

"I am now :)" Paci replied. "What's up?"

"I just finished adding the music to the animation. It's all good! Thanks to your work as usual ;)" Dipper typed.

"That's great! I can't wait to see it all together!" Paci said.

"I'll send it to you now!"

"Oh, uh, I also have something to say," Paci typed.

"What is it?" Dipper asked curiously.

"Well, uh... You know... about that transfer student..."

"Yeah?" Dipper typed, almost too eagerly.

"I... I might not actually hate him..."

Dipper stared at the screen, rereading her chat message. He absentmindedly typed, "Really? That's good."

The sound of the door closing behind him snapped out of his daze.

"Yeah!" Dipper shouted, jumping up.

Mable stumbled, started by her twin's sudden energy.

"Dipper?" She asked, confused.

"Mable!" Dipper shouted, turning around and grabbing her by the shoulders. "She doesn't hate me! Pacifica doesn't hate me!"

"Dipper! Stop shaking me!" Mable shouted.

Dipper stopped as he realized that he was actually shaking Mable by the shoulders.

"I-uh, sorry," He said sheepishly as he released her.

"Geez," Mable muttered as she grabbed her shoulder and glared at him. She then sighed. "Since something good actually happened for you, I'll let it go. Just this once!"

Dipper grinned and laughed as he sat back down in his chair. "She doesn't hate me!"

"Just because she says that she doesn't hate you, doesn't mean that she likes you either," Mable said as she leaned against Dipper's chair and stared at the screen.

"Don't ruin this for me!"

As Dipper was walking to school, a felt a sudden tap on his shoulder. He turned around to see Pacifica there, smiling.

"Hey Dipper. Wanna listen? Kuri's latest song came out! It's great!" She grinned as she handed him an earbud.

Dipper smiled back as he took the earbud and plugged it into his ear. "Sure."
