tutorially thingy (1)

It's come to my attention that there's someone who doesn't know how to digital art (made in medibang btw)

First off, an uninteresting and unshaded picture

And, I know, I know, why are the the white parts of the eyes light gray? It's so the highlights can stand out more, of course! ( > ω> )

So, first up, how to color your line art

It's really simple so listen up: you can either
-turn on "protect alpha" on the layer your line art is on (which will only allow you to draw on everything that's already on the layer)
Or:
-create another layer above the line art layer and turn "clipping" on (it'll allow you to draw only on what's beneath it)

I used clipping on both of these so I could turn the fully colored line art off because I don't really liked it and only wanted to demonstrate ( >3>)

Well, onto the shading!!~

I mostly use the watercolor brush on this setting to shade in my fav color: lilac~
But you can, of course, use other colors to shade with and decide what you like best

This, of course, can already be considered done, and I would've left it like that, but I'm doing a tutorial so–

For the shading I used clipping so I can use the blending mode (when you change the blending mode of a layer it effects with how it interacts with the layers under it)

I only used the blending mode "multiply", and as you can see it turned the lilac dark and intense af
(You can also see that I used clipping and that right beside it is protect alpha)

Here I turned the opacity (self explanatory), which gave a softer and more calm look to it

Lmao I'll finish the second part on the weekend
