I drew this in my planner and over the course of the week added onto it so now I have a character to which I have named Diggory. He's a shoeblack from Edwardian New York.

This was mostly inspired by a book called Children of the City: At Work and at Play. I can't find the author cause I misplaced the book but it's really good. It was the book that inspired the movie/musical Newsies. Honestly it's a great read and really goes into what life was like for children from 1900-1920. It also covers the Newsboy strike of 1899 and a few other ones throughout the decade.
