[MY ENTIRE SKETCH BOOK 2015?-2018] Pt. 1
So this is my A4 sketch book which I've used the most recently. You will have seen some of the drawings in it already but others I just haven't gotten around to posting and there are a few which I had no intention of posting.
Why? You might ask... well, every 'artist' has bad days right? Not everything has to go well... some things just have to fail miserably... so while I'm proud of some of these, others are horrible (Because I suck sometimes//they were drawn ages ago) and... I hope you enjoy??
Iiiit's Pikachu! This is the first drawing in the book and it was aaages ago (Before I started high school), so even though it's not wonderful I remember being super proud with the shape and tbh even though there's no shading I (mostly?) stayed inside the lines.
I painted this one at my Nana's house... idk where the feet went but that's fineeee
I drew this in the car on the way somewhere for my sister, I coloured it in with coloured pencils and then came back later with watercolour pencils.
Ngl, I still love this. I know she's out of proportion and idk what happened to her nose but even though it was ages ago I still appreciate past me's attempt. It was going to be the back of someones head but it just sorta turned into this
The fur doesn't even look real and it too me agessss, I'm pretty sure this is the last animal in the whole book, I just don't have the patience for it lolll
This was drawn without a reference and the flowers were ones I pressed and glued on. The quote was just to separate the girl from the background but it's from the Lunar Chronicles so I guess she's Cress.
YouTube & Instagram girls -- I didn't even have instagram when I did this lol... And the eyes are okay, I didn't really end up finishing the two at the bottom. Also, can anyone draw eyelashes?? Why is it so hard? Everytime I add eyelashes the character I'm drawing either changes gender or looks like they're looking in different directions ugh
I drew in this style again recently and I looked back and I was like oh.. Oh I could already do that whoops, because I left this style for aaaages, but anyway, she was one of my best drawings for a long time. Looking back I'm like ehhhh
This is a drawing of one of my friends (Off a photo). There's so much empty space but I'm pretty proud it actually looks like her/captures her personality.
I think it looks a little like Katniss (From The Hunger Games), but at the same time it's pretty masculine. This was before I'd drawn a guy so I fought it (Eyelashes! Hair! Earrings!) but tbh I should have let it - it's just at the time I wasn't comfortable drawing guys for some reason. Maybe it was the hair?
This was drawn with no reference image and it shows but I kind of like the expression.
This was my first venture into watercolours (Before that I was all like Acrylic paint! Hyper realistic!). Ik I wrote I ruined it but it's not horrible and I'm glad I started experimenting with paint.
This was fun! Also, the purple and grey one (by my standards) has really good proportions for a quick sketch with no reference.
Another sketch where I was really careful to get all the light and shadows in the right places. It definitelyneeds more definition but I'm getting there
This is meh, I definitelywouldn't have posted it if it wasn't for this
Marinette!! From Miraculous Ladybug - With Tikki and a tiny ChatNoir cartoon. Again, no reference imagem I don't think I'm quite ready to draw without one (Lol, can you tell?)
This is Akilah from my book Journey (Go read it? Please) << Now we're done with the self-promo, I know the sketch is a little dull, I want to do a close up where you can see the eyes better, but I feel like I kind of got the right look to her.
The hair tho
This kind of thing is freaking fun to do. It was meant to be Newt Scammander but I exploded his head and drew a bunch of random stuff (I love the eyes).
Again - not quite as good looking but I like the moon and trees, and can you spot the closed eyes?
I did most of the watercolours with my Mum's old watercolour pallete so I used a bunch of colours for this.
And yes, I exploded her face because I couldn't draw it.
I didn't know stories had a 20 image limit, so I'll see you in the next part?
