Khushi and Rahul held Arnav as they rushed to find a stretcher. Anjali was parking the car. Soon enough the attendants had reached them and rushed Arnav to the OT. He had a huge cut on his forehead and Khushi had his blood all over her saree. She saw Dr. Kapoor Approaching the room Arnav was taken to and rushed to his side.

"Dr. Kapoorrrr...  Arnav.... he.. he fell down the stairssss...., doctor..... Blood... everywhere blood...."

"Don't worry Mrs. Raizada. Relax. Please take care of yourself. Let me go to him." Khushi didn't realise she was blocking the doctor from getting to Arnav. Anjali had joined them and gently held Khushi by the shoulders and moved her from the doctor's path. The doctor was inside, patching up the injury for about half an hour. Khushi's tears wouldn't stop flowing. Anjali was somehow holding herself together. Rahul's presence helped. His hand on her shoulder assured Anjali somehow her brother was going to be fine. She knew she had to be the rock this time, like Khushi was there for them the previous time.

Once the doctor exited the operation theatre, the two girls rushed to him, with Rahul close behind. The doctor informed them that he had patched up the injuries and it was difficult to say anything until he gained consciousness. Rahul left the girls to go make some calls.

Soon enough, Arnav was shifted to a private room and the girls waited there, on either sides of his bed. After almost an hour of agony for Khushi, Arnav gained consciousness. Khushi was in the room with him. Anjali and Rahul had stepped out to get them something to drink.

"Arnav, how are you feeling? Does it hurt? I am an idiot, obviously it hurts. Are you okay? I should call the doctor." She rambled on. She pressed the button to indicate to the staff that the patient needed attention.

"Khushi? Stop. I'm fine. Don't panic. And please tell me what happened?"

He didn't remember? – Khushi let the thought pass.

"What? Arnav, you fell down the stairs."

"Oh, I don't remember that. How is Anji? What did the doctor say?" he asked and at the same time Khushi saw Doctor Kapoor at the entrance of the door to Arnav's room.

"Arnav, you take rest, I'll be back soon. Khushi can you please come with me?" Dr. Kapoor asked instead of coming in to check up on him. Khushi nodded in response and followed him to hiscabin. Rahul and Anjali saw Khushi going in with the doctor, Rahul decided to go with her while Anjali went to Arnav's room.

"Doctor, please tell me what exactly is the matter? You are scaring me." Khushi asked when the doctor pointed at the seat she could occupy. She reluctuntly sat down and Rahul took the seat next to her.

In response, the doctor shared with them the MRI scan images of Arnav's head. He explained to them that the injury had made him bring out the images of Anjali's accident, the ones he was trying to supress. That along with the fact that he was happy and saw Anjali beside him everyday.

"Are you telling me he is okay now?" She had to be sure.

"Yes Khushi. But, there seems to be a minor problem."

"What?"

"He seems to have forgotten what happened in the days after the accident."

"But doctor.."

"I believe he was behaving normally with everyone around. Just like he would normally."

"He was, in fact, my presence in fact brought out his possessive and protective nature even." Rahul contributed and Khushi nodded.

"See Khushi, there is no need to worry. It is quite normal to not want to remember things when you are in trauma, especially when you get out of it. Give it some time, it'll come back to him. You went through all this Khushi, you need to have patience now. Just give it time. He wil be fine."

"Okay doctor." Khushi reluctantly agreed.

"And remember Khushi, I think it would be better if we don't tell him what happened these few weeks. It will be stressful and might cause more problems, rather than solve them."

"But doctor, our marriage?"

"I completely forgot about that, but I still think it best not to tell him that bluntly. You might have to reveal it to him at some point later, better not now. I would advise you to give him some time before you say or do something. Give it time."

Arnav was talking to Anji when Khushi and Rahul reached.

"Can someone please tell me why is Khushi wearing a saree?" he asked when he saw Khushi next to Rahul. Nothing had changed with respect to Arnav's dislike for Rahul.

"Bhai actually..." Anjali started only to be interrupted by Khushi.

"Nothing Arnav I'm in a saree because I was about to go to the temple and I thought of having a change today. But then, you fell down, injured yourself and ruined my saree and plans." She said in an attempt to keep the conversation light-hearted.

"I am sorry, me almost dying ruined your saree."

"It is okay, you can always replace it." She said sticking a tongue out at him.

"And why is Rahul here?" he continued.

"Come on Arnav he is not the seventeen year old Rahul anymore he has changed a lot. We are all adults her, we can surely get past childhood hatred, can't we?" Khushi said as she moved and stood by Rahul. Arnav muttered something under his breath.

Arnav did not like it even a bit because even though he had never expressed this to her or anyone else, he loved Khushi and hated to see her with someone else.

"How are you feeling Arnav?" Rahul asked trying to ease the tension in the room.

"Fine. Can you not see? I would've been better if you weren't here though."

"Arnav?"

"Bhai" Khushi and Anjali reprimanded him at the same time.

"Ok I'll not be rude to him." The look Anjali gave him made him add, "I can't make any promises, I'll try not to be rude."

"Better" Khushi said folding her hands in front of her.

"I think I should leave now." Rahul said and Arnav was glad he got the hint.

"I'll come with you Rahul." Khushi said, and that came as a blow to our hero.

"Khushi stay here for some more time. Why do you have to go with him?" Arnav asked.

"No Arnav, I will have to go now, I promise I'll be back soon. Maa and papa are coming back today."

Arnav was a bit confused about the details. Thankfully for them, the nurse came in and gave him his medicine. It had some sedative components and he went right to sleep.

"Anji, can you come with me for a minute" Khushi asked her sister in law as they moved out of the room.

"I'm not coming back here today, Rahul and papa will come in the evening to bring you and Arnav back." Khushi informed.

"Okay, but, what happened? Why is bhai behaving like this?"

"Anji, Arnav is now okay, but but he has lost his memory"

"What?"

"Yeah and he doesn't remember anything about our marriage. Doctor has advised me not to force him to remember, so I am going back to my house for the time being. I'll be back once he regains his memory. Please don't tell him anything."

"But Khushi..."

"Anji don't worry everything will be fine, Rahul will come to pick you guys in the evening"

"Okay fine. I trust you Khushi. I'll do everything you want me to." Khushi hugged her best friend.

"We do have to plan something, you know?" Rahul said pointing between him and Anjali.

"Of course" Khushi said and Anjali blushed scarlet.

"Bye, take care of my husband"

"Ok Bhabhi"

Khushi and Rahul drove in silence to the former's house. Khushi rang the bell and HP opened the door. She informed him about his Arnav baba and told him not to tell him about the marriage. She took out all the indicators of the wedding, including the pictures she had recently hung in their room. She packed her things from the room and Rahul helped her carry it to the Gupta house.

Meanwhile in the hospital, Arnav was wide awake and wondering why Khushi had left with Rahul. Jealousy started creeping up his mind.

"Anji why is Khushi so close with Rahul?"

"What Khushi and Rahul? No bhai. There is nothing like that. Trust me, I know." Anjali informed her brother.

"I am not so sure Anji. I really want you to be right. But, why would she leave me and go with him by choice? From our childhood we have hated him and she was only forced to hand out with him at reunions. She didn't think twice before leaving us and going with him today."

"That is all in the past. There is nothing going on between them, you are wrong. Come on bhai"

"I better be wrong..."

"Why bhai?" that was when she realised, Arnav was being jealous of Khushi's closeness to Rahul. Initially Anjali had focused only on Rahul and that she was the one Rahul was with. But Arnav was being jealous of Rahul's closeness to Khushi.

"I don't want Khushi to be with Rahul. It looks so awkward. She doesn't belong with him..."

"Why bhai, I don't feel so. I think they look cute." Anjali decided to play along to know what was in Arnav's mind.

"I think she deserves someone better."

"Like?"

"ME." he almost shouted at his sister.

"What? You?" to be honest, Anjali was shocked.

Arnav realised what he had just done and tried to cover it up.

"What I meant was.." Anjali did not let him go back on what he had just said.

"Bhai why don't you marry her?" she asked.

"What? Anji are you serious?"

"Why not bhai? I think it would be really nice to have her as my sister in law."

"Yeah, it would be, but what about Khushi? Even if I tell her I love her, I don't think she loves me."

"Why do you think that?"

"If she loved me, she would have told me something when I announced my relationship with Lavanya. She would've at least reacted in some way to let me know she liked me. But she was happy about me and Lavanya."

Lavanya, the girl who lost everything, including her life, for nothing. Arnav and Anjali were talking about her when Khushi had gone to meet the doctor. Arnav felt sad for her, she was a good friend. He did wonder if he should've felt more pain thinking about her death.

"Bhai, what if Khushi loves you and did not get a chance to tell you that, especially not after you introduced us to Lavanya?"

"Then I would like for Khushi to come and tell me what she wants." he blankly stated.

"Why can't you tell her bhai?" Her brother was being an idiot and she knew it.

"I can't. I don't want to take the risk and lose her in the process." He admitted.

"Why? If you love her then what is the problem in telling her?"

"I don't know. I want her to tell me if there is something like that and that is it. Anji no more arguments on that."

"Ok bhai, and yeah Shashi uncle was telling that they are looking for a guy for Khushi. So let them get her married off to someone else. You can hold on to your ego. While she finds a life partner in a guy she just met."

Arnav was shocked to hear that. But he was adamant on his decision. He wanted Khushi to come and tell it to him that she loved him. And that was just because he feared that if Khushi didn't love him then their relationship would get spoilt because of that one confession. Like that did him any good by introducing LAvanya into the picture.

By about 5 pm Rahul was there to pick up Anjali and Arnav. Arnav was disappointed that Khushi had not showed up. The discharge papers were signed. Arnav went with Shashi. The Guptas had returned in the morning when Rahul had called to inform them about Arnav's accident.

Anjali and Rahul were following Shashi, in Rahul's car. Arnav had tried to protest, but given Shashi was there, he didn't say anything.

"Rahul I've to tell you something." Anjali said.

"Go on.." he said, giving her a quick glance before turning his attention back to the road.

"You were right."

"Of course I am Anji." He said with a smirk, which fell off when he saw her pointed look. So he asked "About what Anji?"

"Bhai loves Khushi too" she said, enthusiasm evident in her voice.

" Awesome, that is really great news. I told you. I knew it from the beginning."

"Yeah, but there is a catch."

"And that is ?"

"He said he won't confess it to her. He wants her to confess her feelings for him first for some reason."

Rahul did not say anything for a while. He hated it when someone who was in love refused to confess their feelings. If you have the courage to love, you need to have the courage to speak up. That was his policy and that was exactly what he did. Go out and try, fears will only hold you back. Fears will not get you anywhere.

"That is not fair Anji. And especially because this is about Khushi. She has been the one to take the first step all along. He needs to step up his game now. I think we should play along this time and make him confess his feelings to her. She deserves it."

"What do you mean? How are we going to do that?" Anjali asked. Knowing her stubborn brother, he wouldn't budge.

"I meant what I said Anji."

"I know that. But, how will you get my brother to admit his feelings?"

"I think I have an idea. I'll need to build on it. let me explain it later to you and Khushi." Anjali had learned to trust him by now, so she agreed.

"And one more thing Anji, promise me that you won't tell Khushi about Arnav's feelings for her." He continued.

"What? But why not Rahul, she deserves to know what he said."

"She deserves to hear it from him first. I told you I love you right? Would you have preffred to hear it from Khushi that I love you?"

She nodded her head as to say she understood what he was saying.

"Exactly. That idiot brother of yours need to tell her this. We can sure fuel the fire. We will have to plan along with Shashi uncle and Garima aunty. I know to handle Khushi, in fact, I know what we can tell her."

"I think Garima aunty and Shashi uncle will surely support us."

"Yeah and we can trick Arnav into confessing."

"Are you sure about it?"

"Yeah . Do you believe in me?"

"Yes, of course. Always."

"Then we will surely get this done."

"I love you Rahul."

"I love you too Anji." He said taking her hand to place a light kiss.
