Chapter 6::dtd 27.01.19

"Pau , Pau, please yaar. Please agree. How can I go alone? I will be bored to death."

"Then don't go, Amu. And STOP CALLING ME PAU!"

"Ok okay. I won't call you Pau henceforth. But Payu please na, come with me to the success party." Aman pleaded again.

"Amu but what will I do there. I know none."

"Well you know me na. Give me company. Please Payu. Won't you do this much for your Amu?" Aman successfully pull out that puppy dog eyes.

As usual Payal fell for it.

"Ok ok. I will come when is it?"

"Day after tomorrow . This Friday. 6pm."   Aman replied smiling.

"Ok pick me up from home at 6 then. Or do we need to be there by 6?"
"Nope. We can reach anytime after 6."

"Ok then. Bye."

Aman hugged her tight. "Thank you so much Payu."
Phase 1 accomplished. Aman added in mind.

"Crazy" Payal broke the hug and went home.
Aman began dancing in mind humming 'Mere Veer Di wedding.'
(My brother's wedding).

Friday. Gupta Mansion.

"Payal, Khushi we need to leave to your Seema Aunt's home now. Your Rishi Uncle is admitted. We are leaving now. You girls take care. And Khushi, dare you pull any stunts like last time. Payal, never let her out of your sight."

"But Ma, I need to accompany Amu. Didn't I tell you? If I backoff he will feel very bad."

"Can't you take Khu too with you,Payal?" Shiv asked.

"I don't want to go with Di to any party. Please spare me. I am better here at home only."

"Khu no drama. Go with Payal. End of the discussion." Gauri went to pack their backpack.

"But Pa! The party will be so boring. These college studs I tell you."

"Uff, Khu. It's not my college party. It's a success party of where Amu works."

"And where does your precious Amu works at?"
Khushi asked rolling her eyes.

"Why do you want to know?"

"Just like that. I have to know where I am getting drowned into."

" Somewhere even beyond your imagination."

"You are saying as if he works for AR Corp. It might be some small scale company." Khushi said with sarcasm.

"Why don't you check it yourself Khu?" Payal gave a smirk.

"Then be it. Let's see."

Aman reached Gupta House to pick Payal.
"Amu, wait Khushi is also coming with us."

"Why?"

"Wait a second."
She turned back home and call out for Khushi

"2 minutes Siz." Khushi replied.

Payal got in and told Aman how Khushi came into the frame.

"It's good Payu. Now I will get to meet the Khushi."

Just then Khushi came out wearing a solid black knee length dress.

"Hello Black Beauty! I am Aman." Aman wished Khushi.
Even though Khushi frowned at first, taking in account of her Siz's and Aman's friendship Khushi wished back. Or else Khushi give no damn to boys.

"Hai! Pleasure. It's Khushi here."

"Ya. I have heard a lot about you from Payal."

"Same here, Aman."

" Get in, guys. You both can continue on the way. I don't want to get late .....MORE. " Payal said looking at her watch which showed 6:55pm.

"Ya." Aman and Khushi replied and got in.

In the car,
"So where are we off to Aman?"

"Didn't Payal tell you the details?"

"Well she did but didn't tell where you work?"

"Then see for yourself when you reach the venue. I think there's some reason why she didn't tell you the venue.  Who am I to spoil the suspense?" Aman replied high five ing to Payal, who giggled along him.

"Why so much drama guys?" There is that one thing in the whole world Khushi Shiv Gupta despise the most. Suspense. She just can't handle the 'Suspense' thing.

HOTEL MOONLIT REGENCY 

"Here we are. You guys get down here. I will be back after parking. I don't prefer the Valet."

The trio enter the party area.
"Welcome to AR success party,Khushi."

"What? AR? You mean you work for AR? You guys aren't joking right?" Khushi continued watching Aman nodding a no.

"Then ASR?  OMG ASR! Where is he?" Khushi spoke like express after the initial shock.

"Hey hey, hold your horses young lady. The ASR will be around here somewhere. We kind of skipped the boring part as we reached a bit late by.."

" Just 1 1/2 hours." Payal completed with a sarcasm.

"You sure he didn't left?" Khushi asked bitting her nails, hereyes still wandering around for ASR's one glimpse.

"No, he will be somewhere around. Even though he isn't much of a part person he stays."

"Come, I will introduce you both to my brother, Akash. He is the CCO here."

"You two carry on. I myself will find ASR" Khushi said before moving away.

"Khushi wait..." Payal tried to stop Khushi.

"It's ok Payu. She will be fine. You come. Let's meet Akki."
Aman dragged Payal to Akash.

Akash Mathur was talking with some delegates who left by the time Aman and Payal reached Akash.

"Akash Mathur, meet my bestie Payal Gupta."

"Payal meet my one and only blood and flesh brother, Akash Mathur."

"Hai"   both Akash and Payal shook hands.

Before they could talk more Arnav entered the frame who reached for Akash.

"Here you are, Arnav bhai, meet Payal, my bestie."

"Payal, the ASR." Aman  introduced them.

From the way Aman mentioned 'Arnav bhai' to Payal, Arnav and Akash clearly got the picture of Payal with Aman. Aman was always cautious not to let other's know the relation he shares with ASR. He even hides him working for AR, so that people won't use him to get to the ASR or AR.

Now when they see Aman himself showing it off to Payal, it does means a lot.

"Hello Payal." Arnav shook hands with Payal

"Hello Sir."

"Hey no need for that. ASR is fine."

"Ok ASR."

"Enjoy the party ok. I need Akash for something. Excuse us. See you both around."

When they got away from Aman and Payal, Arnav mentioned to Akash the way Aman held Payal's hand all along. Never leaving even for a minute.

"Guess Ms. Payal is more than a friend to Aman. Let's give this news to Di once she calls. This little guy is always after me. Let him distract Di for sometime with his Payal."

Arnav said playfully to Akash who smilingly nodded his head in a yes. They admired the excited Payal who was talking animatedly  and hugging Aman may be about meeting the ASR and an equally happy Aman accepting her hug.

"By the way ASR, why did you need me?"

"Oh that. ...." with that both workholics began their discussion about the important matters.

All the while talking with Akash, Arnav felt someone's burning gaze on him. It's normal for him to be the centre of attention whenever he is in between people. But this particular gaze, he felt it getting into him. Something weird. He looked around for the person but found none odd. For the rest of the party till he left the room, he felt it. All along.

Khushi had spotted Arnav when he came to where Payal was. Even though Khushi moved away to look gor Arnav, she still keep an eye on her sister. Mom had asked her to stay with Payal. Most like asked Payal to keep an eye on Khushi. So she thought to do mercy on Payal and to be in the vicinity.

She saw Arnav with Payal and Aman with a tall guy whom she assumed to be Aman's brother Akash. She so wanted to go to them. When she was about to, she saw Arnav and Akash bidding bye and moving away from the duo. So she thought to postpone the 'face off'.

I am Khushi Shiv Gupta. So the first meeting of Arnav Singh Raizada with Khushi Shiv Gupta is ought to be grand. So not this time Arnav.

The entire time he was in the party, Khushi stalked him. She hid at times when she saw him turning around.  Na, you won't be able to find me so easily. SEE YOU SOON Arnav. Khushi gave him a flying kiss when she saw him leaving.

"Khushi? Where why did you deny meeting ASR? I called you for the same. Before I ask you the reason you hung up. Why?"

"Uff. Siz. I am Khushi Shiv Gupta. I decide when to meet someone. And it's nt yhe right time yet."

"You and you craziness. Anyway  let's leave. It's getting late. Amu will drop us."

"Ok."

By the time they reached Gupta House which was just 30minutes from AR, Khushi had already dozed off.

"Payu, here we are. By the way, why did you ask me to not talk anything to Khushi on the way back.?"

"See for yourself!" Payal showed an already asleep Khushi.
"Oh poor girl she got so tired?"

"Na. Nothing like that. Again this is a Khushi thing. I don't know how she manages to do this but she doz off the minute she sits in a car if she sits idle. Even if it's a 10 minutes journey,  she does the same. Such a kid she is."

"Then let's not wake her up. Shall I drop her?"

"No Amu. Wait."  Payal came back to the car after opening the house with key.

"Khushi? Get up go to your room and sleep! Khushi?" Payal shook Khushi who woke up then and went into the house like zombie with half opened eyes.

"Payu, go with her. What if she crash to somewhere!"

"Don't worry Amu, she will reach straight to the couch and will sleep there. When she will wake up again, she will go and sleep in her room. It's nothing unusual with Khushi. She is like that. She sleeps in the couch by the hall more than in her bed."

"Ok then, Good night Payu."

"Good night Amu. It wasn't as boring as I expected."

"How did you find my Akki?"

"He seems nothing like your brother. And I didn't get to talk more right?"

"Oh ya. Next time I will plan something better. Bye"

"Bye"
