You guys remember, when years back Arnav went to meet Khushi?

He had lied to Aman that he has some meeting around Lucknow. He saw her in the evening. She looked tensed. Remember??
Ok. Some days before that day Khushi got to know her mom got diagnosed with Alzheimer. And her mom is almost there, at the last stage.

Like any other mother, she too wished Khushi to get settled before her death. Khushi's marriage was her last wish.

While on the other hand, Khushi and Arnav came so close to each other. Their love had coloured both. If Khushi is restless, how come Arnav not feel that. In that desperation he reached Lucknow. But Khushi obviously had a toll that day, so couldn't be with Arnav for more time. And quickly went home.

What awaiting her at home was a marriage proposal. NK's.
NK and Khushi were childhood friends. He was almost the same for Khushi how Lavanya and Aman was for Arnav.

Both the family always had this marriage of their children in their mind for so long.
NK wasn't ever happy to that extend when he came to know that Khushi's mom proposed his and Khushi's marriage. Even though everyone was sad as Khushi's mom didn't had much days with her. But in her on and off switching memories, it was her mother's wish and Khushi couldn't say no.

The day when NK came to talk with Khushi, she told him she wanted to speak him about something important.
Then they met the next day in a park.

Flashback.  3 years ago.

When NK came in he found Khushi lost in thoughts.

"Hai Cookie."

In return what he got was a nervous smile. She knew NK might love her. But, how can she hide her love from her only best friend?

"Cookie? You are my best friend above before anything. You know that right?"

"Nanhe, I am in love. With someone else."  She added after a pause.

NK quickly composed himself. "Why didn't you tell aunty this? I bet she would understand."

"I couldn't muster up enough courage to tell her. Before I could tell her anything everything happened. She decided our marriage on the belief that I will never break her trust."

"Did you talk to him?"

"No."

"He knows about the current situation of your family? "

"No. I brokeup with him." She told sobbing.

"Why, Cookie?"

"I knew you loved me. And mom was adamant to marry me off. I couldn't tell him all these. He love me so much. With what face I tell him that I had to choose everything over him?  He will never be able to take it."

"Doesn't he deserve an explanation? A reason? Why did you deny that Khushi?"

"Nanhe, I am sorry. I couldn't. I didn't knew what to do. I am so sorry." She broke down into tears.

"Oh dear, what did you do? Couldn't you tell me this earlier?"
He let her compose down.

"Cookie, what do you want me to do? To bring back that beautiful smile on your face?"

"I don't know Nanhe. It's just that, I can't break mom's trust in me nor can I be of someone else's.  He is ... I don't know how to describe it Nanhe.. I feel him running in my cells, in my blood. He is already me. No I am already him, His." Khushi sat with her head hung in helplessness.

NK caressed her head.
"It's ok Cookie. Falling in love isn't a crime. And I know you would never break Aunt's heart or trust."

She looked up at NK in hope.

"My Cookie will never have to sacrifice her happiness. It's time I become your knight in Shinning armour." NK finished joking at her. "You want me to talk about him to our parents?"

"Not now, Nanhe. I know I am sure of him. But marriage. I am not ready for that yet."

 "Ok . As you wish. Now tell me about your this 'Him'. How did you met?"

"I met him online..............."

And NK true to his word, convinced Khushi's parents and his. He without telling them about Khushi's love to Arnav bought her time. He argued that even though it might be Khushi's mom's last wish, but forcing her on this matter especially in hurry will never be good.  When Khushi was ready to do bow down before her mother's wish, wasn't her family suppose to understand Khushi's state of mind? With everything happening in her family,  Khushi could never enjoy her wedding. Her wedding days will never stay as a happy memory. Both families weren't happy with it  when NK made them realise that forcing such a crucial decision on her will not be good. But they had no other go other than to accept the fact that their children weren't happy with this sudden marriage proposal.

So finally Khushi's family decided to shift to HP where her mother wanted to spend her last days. Gada Gushani. After  her mother's death came her brother's accident. That was the last nail in her coffin.

Karan's accident threw Khushi apart. When she realised it to be a murder than an accident. It wasn't just a hit and run case.

Karan actually came to Dehradun for his safety. His roommate committed  suicide because of ragging. Karan became the witness against the seniors involved in the ragging. They were the people who were behind Karan's accident. Karan had told about the case just minutes before his accident. Khushi with her own eyes witnessed the accident. How even after hitting Karan once with the jeep, the driver of the car came back and ran over Karan once again to make sure Karan is dead. Then her dad too died.

Within a few days Khushi lost the only family she had. She saw her mother dieing in illness. Her baby brother whom she practically raised getting murdered, then her papa. Her only family. The one who could have been her love, her life, she herself pushed him away. When she came home back after the funerals, what waited for her ahead was darkness and loneliness. She found the cute bunny she had brought once on a fair. Somehow it reminded her of Arnav. The cute fluffy one. Was it because the bunny was as cute as Arnav or was it because everytime she saw that bunny, she felt an unknown peace like she got from Arnav's presence? She didn't know.

When days after NK found about the tragedy happened with Khushi, he reached her in a jiffy. He saw a broken, devastated, traumatised  Khushi who lay on the sofa in a heap. With the bunny cluched so close to her heart. When Khushi didn't respond him, he had no choice than to take Khushi with him to Delhi. But even after him consulting doctors for Khushi, nothing improved.  Then when he found Arnav's number from Khushi's belongings he decided to take Khushi to Arnav. From what he heard from Khushi about Arnav he had a hope Arnav will take care of Khushi. So he tried to test that.

He brought Khushi to the metro. Acting like a commoner he called the cops to inform about the lone girl found at Metro station. He stayed around till Arnav reached the station and took Khushi with him. Every now and then NK checked on his best friend. He saw her in the park. Observed the improvement in Khushi. Atlast he thought to came out with the truth.

Why he chose that particular way to make  Khushi and Arnav meet after years? He had to be double sure whether Arnav will take back Khushi without any proper explanation. When she is not responding to anyone. When she isn't emotionally and mentally stable. Well Arnav did pass the test. Moreover now Khushi is almost back to herself. Arnav's love, Lavanya's treatment  and ofcourse Aman. If this trio couldn't brought back the Khushi in her, then what can?

Well well this was happened in the past. Poor Khushi. She feared of Arnav's rejection. She couldn't see anything beyond her fear and insecurities. She brutally broked his heart once. She feared to acknowledge Arnav's care as love. But love always breaks the walls around heart, clear the fog blurring the inner heart. And finally Arnav's  love won her. Destroyed the wall she build up; the facade her mind brought over her heart; clouding  it with insecurities not allowing her to feel his love.

Now it's all fine. Arnav Khushi is ArShi again. Now RM is filled with happiness.. What left is to teach someone a pretty good lesson and then the happily ever after.
