5. Moments of Serendipity!
Raizada Mansion,
Delhi
Shantivan is defining its name — peace. Everyone in the home was silent. Shyam Manohar Jha was on another trip. The bluish-orange sky outside of the Riazada Mansion with birds flying under the orange hue indicated it was Evening. Akash and Manohar had returned from the office early and were sitting beside each other reading a Magazine. Akash was nervous, not at all concentrating on the Magazine. Manorama, Anjali, and Devyani sat on the other sofa talking about random things. Devyani was knitting a sweater while Manorama was biting on an Apple, sitting in her usual pose.
Every one of them was lost in their own work when they heard the calling bell. HP who was cooking for his Boss's family inside the kitchen has come out to open the door. But before he could do that, he saw Akash already walking towards the door. So, HP had gone back to the kitchen knowing if they were guests, Anjali or Manorama would anyway scream at him, for pleasantries.
Akash on the other hand stood shocked, his eyes wide open and his spectacles did nothing to hide his surprise, replacing shock, his hands hanging in the air, and his mouth a little open, unable to believe the sight in front of him, "Payal?" he whispered.
"Can I come in?" Payal wasn't nervous and definitely not afraid when she asked him, standing in all her glory of a simple green Anarkali Dress, with a handbag hanging on one of her shoulders. It looked like she has come from her office.
Didn't she like the bouquet he sent to her? Akash wondered in silence.
"Sure." He invited her in, moving aside for her to enter. Is she here to accept his proposal? He could only stare at her back, lost in thoughts, following behind her when she suddenly stopped even before they enter the hall.
"I want to talk to your mother," she said, turning towards him with her hands on her handbag, looking into his eyes hovered over by spectacles.
He gasped at her words, why would she want to talk to his mother? "What? But Payal, why?" He took a few steps forward and Payal still stood, without taking any step back, quite confident about what she was saying.
"I just want to talk, nothing big!" Payal shrugs her shoulders, jutting her lips together and before Payal could say anything more, they heard Manorama.
"Hello Hi, Bye Bye, what is this Khoon Bhari Taang doing here?" Manorama was wondering why it took a few minutes for her son to come back. She decided to check on him and as she walked towards the entrance, she narrowed her gaze at the familiar back. She had to recognize her in seconds since she was someone she didn't like the most after Khushi aka Phatisari.
Those middle-class gold diggers! She could only scoff at their faces in her mind. What does the sister of phatisari doing here? She wondered if she was here to trap someone from the house.
Middle-class girls are only capable of that!
Payal released a breath, turned around, and smiled wide at the woman in front of her who always dressed weirdly, "Oh, hi, Mrs. Raizada. I was just asking about you from your son."
"Eeh? About me?" Manorama twisted her mouth in annoyance. Is she here to trap her in her web? Hmph! Manorama can never fall for a middle-class girl's trap. She mimicked a famous villain from the star plus Serials in her mind.
"Can you tell your son to stop proposing to me every now and then?" Payal was straight to the point. She had been proposed to by Akash even before Khushi went missing and from then, he always tried his best to impress her. And when she joined the office again, he'd been sending bouquets frequently. She could only whine and scoff at his actions. The thread of patience has been cut off today and she is here, deciding to show him the true colors.
Manorama fumed at the girl's words. How dare she lie and accuse her son? Why would her son go behind a middle-class woman like her? Unlike the girl in front of her, her son had class and he never would go behind her. "Hello Hi, Bye Bye, proposal? My son proposed to you, how dare you lie?"
Akash was worried as he walked towards her, wanting to stop knowing the fight would only aggravate, he muttered, "Payal, why are you mentioning it here? Please stop it."
Payal narrowed her eyes at him. Seriously? If she's here, wanting to show him how would his mother react knowing she might become her daughter-in-law, is only because she wants him off her back. Never could she accept a man whose family would never accept her. Even if she likes the man! Never, and so, she fumed, grumbling aloud, "Weren't you the one behind me asking me to marry you? I'm just letting your mother know and on second thought, if she agrees to it wholeheartedly, I'd not mind marrying you!"
She is confident a dog's tail can never be straight, no matter how much you ever try! Manorama could beat the tail if there was a competition, not moving an inch from its place.
Manorama had only fumed more, whining, and flaring her nose, "Hello Hi Bye Bye, you trapped my Akash Bitwa?"
Payal chuckled, shaking her head, and looked at Akash reminding him of one of the conversations, "I told you. Didn't I?"
Akash quaffed, bowing his head, remembering the day when Payal had said the truth.
"Your Mother would never accept me, Akash! So better forget me and move on. It's not even that I love you. I don't," Payal muttered, furious. It was another day when Akash had come to pursue her. And she had to tell him the reason for not accepting him, even if she likes him.
"But you like me, and I'm sure my mother will agree. I'll make sure of it, Payal. Please!" Akash pleaded. He'd anyhow make sure his mother and the rest of the family agrees to his choice. Payal had to just say yes before he would talk with them.
"Mark my words, Akash! She'd never agree!" Payal guffawed, leaving behind a frustrated Akash, in the middle of the market.
Payal shook her head, sighing. She needs to stand for her happiness and she hoped the confrontation between her and his mother would gracefully put Akash in his place. She hoped he'd realize she can never be happy with people around her who would hate her, not even trying to find a reason for positivity in her. She deserved more and she had the chance, "If this is how I'm gonna get treated here if at all I agree to your proposal and marry you, I'm sorry but I don't deserve this kind of treatment!"
Akash hurriedly nodded his head, his heart in his mouth galloping in anxiety, "Payal, please, I said, right? I'll make her agree. Even if she has issues, I don't care!"
Manorama gritted her teeth at her son's words and made her stance clear, "I'm never going to agree. I never want this middle-class girl as my daughter-in-law. What do you mean by you don't care about my opinion, Akash Bitwa?"
She dreamt of a rich high-class woman as her daughter-in-law, a Miss India, a Miss Universe probably. Not a normal girl with no riches like Payal. Her fuse blew when she heard her son say he didn't care about her opinion. He wouldn't? Really?
All because of the girl's black magic!
"Aah. I'm not here for this family drama and Blah Blah Blah," Payal rolled her eyes, waving her hands in the air. She doesn't want one of those saas-bahu dramas here. She isn't here for that anyway.
Akash implored in reluctance, "Payal!"
Payal closed her eyes, gathering her strength, she tried her best to give it back, he had to leave her back, she'd make sure of it, "Yeah, I know my name is Payal. And this Payal Gupta says she's never going to compromise with her life. Do you hear me, Akash?"
Her voice was crammed with determination.
"What's happening here? Akash, do you love her?" Manohar interrupted, finally deciding to intervene. All of them were shocked at their conversation and even more shocked to find out Akash loves a girl and that too Payal who is Khushi's sister.
Anjali and Devyani stare at him in anticipation, awaiting his answer.
Akash didn't fear saying and nodded his head, "Yes, dad!" He loved Payal and he'd only love her, no matter what.
"When are you going to tell us, then?" Manohar frowned at his son. It didn't look like a matter of a few days. If he told him at least, before, he'd have been happy for him. Not that he isn't now, he is happy for his son.
"I was waiting for her yes in the first place but knowing she isn't going say that before Ma agreed, I realized I'd talk. I'm actually going to talk about it today. But before that Payal came," he explained. He was reading a Magazine earlier, not exactly concentrating on the content inside it, gathering ideas to make them accept Payal.
While Anjali and Devyani stood shocked, Manorama could only rant and rave. Manohar was the only one who looked happy along with a confused Anjali.
"Do you want to marry her?"
Akash had to answer his father, there was no question of other choices, and his answer needless to say was never a no, "Of course, dad!"
Manohar patted his son's arms, delighted he had chosen his happiness, "Alright, then! If your happiness lies in her, I agree with this!"
He failed in Dhruv's matter — his other son. He wouldn't fail now, not that he didn't stand for Dhruv then. He did but he didn't know the consequences of not voicing out at the right time. People learn from their mistakes, don't they? Manohar did, and he's never going to repeat the same mistake again — Not voicing his words at the right time! Time plays a key role too, in such a situation!
Manorama exploded in flames, "But I'm not going to agree, Hello Hi Bye Bye. This Gupta Number 1 has trapped my son! Such a gol-"
Payal isn't here to listen to character assassination, "Blah Blah Blah. Mrs. Raizada, I know what you're going to say and I don't give two hoots about your words! I don't even care if you heard my words or not, but let me tell you one thing, Akash might deserve me if he really loves me. But a toxic family for at least the next 40 years of my life is never worth it to risk my life with your son! So, please tell him not to come behind me every now and then. It's becoming unbearable!"
Payal stated the fact. Akash wasn't worth the risk to step into toxicity knowingly.
Manorama bristled, "How dare you? You came behind my son, trapped him, and now coming to our house, blaming him?"
How dare this chit of a girl come here, trap her son, and act like a victim now?
Akash defended Payal, seething at his mother's words, "Ma, she was never behind me. I love her really and I'll marry her and just her, no one else!"
Either Payal or no one else!
"Shut up, Akash Bitwa. This low-class woman trapped you!" Manorama's words are raised to the roof of the Shantivan. She knows about such types of girls, who would first find a rich man, and trap them in their web.
"And you, Khoon Bhari Taan-" she seethed, pointing her fingers towards her, and was cut off by Payal as soon as she started.
Payal had enough. This woman can't just disrespect her, calling her offensive names, "504 IPC Section, offending someone with their words can cost them jail. Don't you dare provoke me or I'd have to dial 100!"
Anjali and Devyani gasped at what Payal said. And then they thought Payal was a sweet, traditional, and innocent girl until before.
Manorama breathed in fire, "How dare you?"
Payal retorted in defiance, "I had to! If I'd be silent and agree to your son's proposal, I might have to live here, every day, getting abused by you! So, I'm really not sorry for being daring!"
Payal came out with her words, which stabbed Akash's heart knowing his chance is less.
She turned her gaze away from the old woman, and gave her final verdict, "Anyway, Akash. I hope my answer is clear to you. I will not marry you no matter what even if I like you if not love! I can never bear toxicity! Good Bye!"
Payal, without waiting for a second more, trespassed a heartbroken Akash and worried Manohar.
Silence prevailed in the Shantivan once again as Akash gulped his pain down quite with difficulty and before anyone could say anything, he stormed out of the house.
"Akash Bitwa/Akash!" It was only Manohar and Anjali who screamed at him behind. One with worry and another in confusion.
"Hello Hi, Bye Bye! How dare that low-class girl come here and threaten us with police? Hmmph!" Manorama didn't really care if her son had stormed out of the house. Her ego has been touched and she has been disrespected and threatened by a mere low-class girl.
"Even I don't approve of this relationship," Devyani put her foot forward. It's true she liked Khushi and Payal for their good nature. But if this is how one behaves with elders, she wouldn't want such a girl in their family. One had to be like Lavanya, all cultural, obedient, and respectful towards elders. Payal isn't looking like one anymore and she can never agree to such a woman.
Manorama finally huffed having someone on her back and muttered loud enough for everyone to hear, "Make them understand, Sasu Ma!"
Anjali was silent, all the while.
"Yeah, just like when you made us understand Dhruv's matter. Isn't it?" Manohar scoffed, glaring at his wife and mother, shutting them up as they stood widening their eyes at him and he, so mercilessly continued, "Don't forget if Dhruv is not with us today, that is only because of you both!"
Manorama was never the one to accept her fault. Her ego is too big for that to happen and she whined, "Hello Hi, Bye Bye. What are you saying?"
"Truth. But I know you're too egoistic to accept the fact!" There came the spat, and Manoaram gasped in shock. Devyani was about to retort, telling him to control his mouth when Manohar cuts her off, "And if this time, with your behavior, Akash leaves us, forget you ever had any husband!"
He looked straight into her eyes and Manorama hut her mouth, reminding the lifeless divorce papers in her cupboard. If she gets divorced from him, she'd be deprived of all the luxuries. She never wanted that.
"And you too, Ma. Forget you ever had any son if Akash leaves us!" Manohar left the hall, to his room and started calling Akash on his way, worried for him.
Devyani gulped before getting back to her room and Manorama cried in anger at her husband's cruel words.
Yeah, cruel!
It was only Anjali in the hall and she was worried and confused at the present situation in the house. She never know Akash loved Payal. Payal is a good girl too but what she saw in front of her now was a totally different Payal. She didn't like her disrespecting the elder's words. Yet was worried for Akash who looked heartbroken and so shoving Payal's behavior as just her outburst for Akash's proposal, she mumbled, wanting someone to clear her thoughts. Her husband is out of the city and her other brother, Arnav is in London for his office work, "The matter is serious in the house and no brother of mine is free to look into it!"
She tried Arnav's number but it went unanswered.
She dialed the only number that came into her mind the next time, and soon the call was lifted, "Advay?"
Advay on the other side who's busy in his penthouse with a beautiful girl in his arms was disturbed by the phone call. Untangling himself from the blonde, and wrapping a bedsheet around his bare torso, he rolled to the bedside table.
Anjali Di!
He rolled his eyes lifting the call, "Yes, Di?"
"Akash loves some girl and Mami and Nani aren't accepting her," she uttered. She hoped Advay would do something, either to clear her off the thoughts or to make Nani and Mami understand.
"Good. I'm sure she's a middle-class woman and a middle-class woman deserves nothing better than that!" Advay hated middle-class women. He was happy listening to a one-more woman getting failed in her plan of trapping a rich man.
"Advay!" She reprimands, Payal was still somewhere acceptable for her if Akash loves her.
"Did you forget Myra, Di?" Advay scoffed.
And all the thoughts of Anjali had run away to a corner, instantly blind hate in her heart has passed on to Payal now.
Payal must be like Myra, too! Innocent in her looks, but a gold digger whore in real!
She cut the call. Her thoughts were now the same as Manorama and Devyani. After talking with Advay, her little brother, who is also a twin of Arnav, her mood got worse. Myra is someone she hates to the core. Myra, a woman who had tried her tricks on her husband. When it comes to her husband, Anjali is a totally different woman, blind in her husband's love.
London,
Gomez Mansion
Khushi was sitting on her queen size bed, lost in her thoughts after her chat with Arnav, all ready for the day. It was late in the morning in London and a day off for Khushi from her hospital when she called Arjen.
"Arjen! Small help. I exactly want to know how was I in Delhi?" she asked. She wanted to know how was she in Delhi. She hoped all wise and good!
Arjen scowled at her, "You have so many people at your back. Your single call and they'd do everything for you!"
True! There are so many people and on just one order of hers, they'd do everything no matter how difficult is.
Khushi raised her brows, sighing as she muttered, "Yeah and they're also loyal to my Dad!"
If she instructed them on something related to her past in Delhi, they'd surely inform Adam. Adam's strict instructions were not to try recalling her past and stress her brain more than needed. But why doesn't her father understand she's a doctor and she can withhold the stress if at all her past would stress her? Fathers are fathers! No matter what you do, they're hell worried and so was her Dad.
"Okay, Meow! Fine, I'll do that." Arjen teased! Lightening the thickening air. Whenever there was some secret mission of hers, she'd take help from any of the three and since he was free, she did take the burden to call him and thump a few tasks for him. Hard tasks!
Khushi scowled, reprimanding him, "Hey!" Just because her name had Kat in it, he'd call her Meow to tease her and it only riles her up more.
Arjen bit his tongue, muttering, "Sorry! Anyway, I'm planning to play basketball, mind joining?"
He offered her, they'd play everything possible. Basketball was his favorite and Khushi had always managed to win over him.
"No, yaar. I've to meet Arnav!" Khushi denied. She had to meet Arnav in the restaurant soon. In the early morning, Arnav had messaged he was free and since it was her day off, they agreed to meet in a restaurant soon.
"Oh, Arnav Singh Raizada, you mean?" Arjen know it was ASR, yet asked, wanting to tease her again.
"Yeah!" She could only shrug.
"Special patient, hmm!" Arjen sing-sanged the word and Khushi rolled her eyes at his intentions, "Ugg. Arjen! He's just a special patient!"
"Really?" he quirked his brow, smirking.
Khushi wanted to slap that dirty mind of his. He could never think straight, "Not in the way you think, pervert!"
"Really?" he bit his lip, raising his eyebrow again.
Khushi could literally imagine his face, and groaned in frustration, "Come on, man, he's 6 years younger than me."
"You never cared about ages!" he stated the fact, in case she'd forgotten.
True, she never really cared about ages, unless it wasn't more than a certain limit and she know what's that limit for her. She was annoyed, and mumbled, "I can't explain it to you. Think whatever fuck you want to!"
"Thank you for the beautiful words, Kat! Bye!" Arjen smirked more. Khushi was easily riled up today which is rare. She agrees to it or not but he can see it, she likes that guy and if they explore more into it more, they'd be an awesome couple.
Their chemistry is anyway electrifying and jaw-dropping! Yesterday's photos were enough proof of that.
What sizzling chemistry! And they weren't even hugging, they were just beside each other, standing all silent, staring at each other.
Restaurant,
Khushi reached the restaurant soon after her conversation with Arjen. She and Arnav have decided to meet up in a restaurant. It was a private floor, arranged for her in a short span of time. No disturbance and nothing until she wanted. Away from the prying eyes of the public.
She saw Arnav already waiting for her and greeted him with a small smile, "Hi!"
"Good Morning!" Arnav wished her, walking towards her and as the gentleman that he was, took a chair out of her to sit.
Khushi neatened the pleats of her cream maxi dress that reached her knees, sitting on the chair, "Thank you!"
She looked up at him and he just smiled walking towards his own chair.
Khushi said, it's good they have their early lunch before talking, Arnav had Diabetes too, not to forget and the doctor in her is always active, "Let's place our orders, first!"
Arnav bobbed his head, "Sure!"
Khushi called out for a waiter soon who came running to them, with pen and book in his hand, ready to take their orders.
"Spaghetti Bolognese," Khushi ordered hers, and Arnav did his, "Chicken & Spinach Skillet Pasta."
The waiter went away, after asking if they wanted anymore, wine was already present on the table as their pleasantries. Khushi and Arnav denied for anymore and started drinking the white wine they were given. Arnav took care he drank in moderation, the dish he ordered is going to have a half cup of wine as one of its ingredients. White wine isn't unhealthy anyway but he took care he didn't drink much.
Khushi's hawk-like eyes were on his drink intake. She after taking a sip, had only said what she wanted to say for so long, "I'm sorry!"
Arnav put his wine glass down, acting as if he doesn't know what she was talking about, "Sorry for?"
"You know what for." Khushi sighed, knowing he was acting nonchalant. Well, he should. She deserved that. And Arnav was lost in the past where her words had hurt him more than anything.
"Khushi, hi!" Arnav greeted her excitedly. He saw her almost after a year when she suddenly disappeared from his life, and now when he saw her, he couldn't hold the excitement. Khushi was someone who without any effort had won his heart and he liked her for her understanding and non-judgemental nature.
"Who are you?" Khushi looked at him confused. At her words, Arnav was disappointed.
"Khushi, I'm Arnav. You've paid my hostel fees. Remember?" he tried to make her remember only to be shoved into the corner by her rude words.
"Whoever you are, I don't want to see your face ever, get lost at once!" She screamed at him in his face, uncaring for how his face lost all of its colors.
"Khushi?" he whispered. The Khushi he know was never rude.
"Mein tumhara chehra dekhna tak nahi chahti, get lost!" Khushi spat, walking away from him, leaving a very hurt and vulnerable Arnav behind.
(I don't even want to see your face, get lost!)
It's okay if she didn't remember him, what's the need to be rude to him in her words?
"That's fine," Arnav muttered, not completely out of the hurt he felt then. He felt a sharp stabbing pain ebb away in a few minutes like every time he remembers the incident.
"I'm really sorry, Arnav. I know you're still hurt by that," Khushi knows his that's fine wasn't wholehearted. And she can never blame him. For he doesn't even know why she screamed at him.
"Didn't you really recognize me then?" Arnav asked the question that was nagging him for years. The only question he know the answer to, in the hearts of the hearts, was that she recognized him yet acted as a stranger. Why? He doesn't have any idea. But it was also the reason why he thought Khushi was acting again in Delhi, with him! There was this other possibility too, Amnesia. He wasn't sure which one is true and yet always tried to control his hurt when she uncared he was once known to her.
"Of course, I did. I just acted that way with you!" Khushi confirms his doubts. He was right. What he saw in her eyes was right too. He saw recognition in her eyes and all the while his doubt was right. Does that mean she also acted in Delhi? But if it is so, why would she not mention it now? She can be sorry for that too, why would she miss it?
"Why? You know it hurt me," Arnav wasn't lying. It still hurt whenever he thought of her words.
"I know but I had no choice. If I had recognized you then, things would have been worse," she whispered. Why would be rude when it wasn't in her nature? She had to be rude, for his own good.
"What?" he was confused. Khushi took one more sip and put her glass down, releasing a breath through her mouth, and grumbled, "Doesn't matter anymore, Arnav. What matters is my intention wasn't wrong."
"But that doesn't justify the consequences it left on me," Arnav pointed out. Her intention wasn't wrong but that doesn't mean he wasn't hurt. Whatever the reason was, he was hurt and her action had left him more vulnerable with scars all over his heart.
"I know which is why I'm apologizing to you. I'm so sorry!" Khushi is aware of that and she could only apologize, she can't undo the past now, can she?
"Hmm," Arnav hummed and before they could talk more, Arnav's phone vibrated and he took the call.
Lavanya!
"Hello!" He hoped it was related to the official work.
"......"
And indeed it is as he sighed, "Yeah?"
"......"
Her question was absurd, wasn't she his PA? Why has she started even messing with her work these days?
"Lavanya, don't eat my head. Do what I said. You get me?" he gritted his teeth in anger and cut the call.
Khushi gave him a few minutes to calm down before she asked him. Wasn't Lavanya the same girl at the party? The girl in her early twenties who called her Chamkili? It's also one of the reasons why she called Arjen. She wanted to know if she met that girl in India. She doubted Arnav know that already and yet she acted nonchalant, for, he won't tell her even if she'd ask him.
The way he drove Lavanya away at the party says a lot!
"So, who is she? Not meant to be judgemental. It's just that she seemed so into you yesterday!" Khushi asked, clearing her intention. True she didn't mean to be judgemental. She just wanted to know about the girl.
"My PA," he muttered as if he was carrying a burden.
"Oh."
Khushi and Arnav were in silence, before Khushi started again, she wanted to know how was his Heterophobia, "Any relationships?" If he was in any, it's a good sign he was in good condition.
Only that he wasn't!
"What do you think?" he questioned back, playing with the glass on the table, as he stirred the wine, moving it around.
"Negative I'm guessing!" Khushi shrugged, took another sip from the glass, and cleared her throat.
The way he had withered under Lavanya's touch was still in her mind. But that could be a moment of weakness too if he was on the road to recovery. There's a chance he's better to be in a relationship.
Arnav nods in agreement. It verily is negative.
"Haven't you got any treatment yet?" Khushi asked him. She can understand if he was reluctant to the treatment just when he was officially diagnosed with it. Everyone suffers from denial in the start, it's just that Arnav accepted the fact but he was in denial about treatment. That was understandable too! He was just a teenager and had frequent panic attacks. Forcing him for treatment wasn't an option. He had to gradually accept it. And before it could happen, she know she had to go. And she did so, without any words. He was in safe hands and that's what she thought! While the reality was different altogether.
"Yes, from the past two years, I'm getting it!" Arnav croaked, clearing his throat, the last two were clear though.
Khushi was shocked, "Past two years? You've started your treatment that late?"
"I had no finance before that!" Arnav stated simply. He couldn't afford his treatment when he just started with his company on a loan. After it was stable, he bothered to think about Khushi's words — his treatment.
Khushi wanted to say more, but she didn't, "You..forget it!" and continued asking about his present condition, "How's your treatment now?"
"What do you think?" Arnav had made that statement his friend it seemed as always.
"You never change. Do you?" Khushi sighed, muttering, caressing her forehead.
Arnav shrugged his shoulders.
"Give me your doctor's number once. I'll get an update from him. I don't see any improvements in you!" Khushi asked him for the doctor's number. She'd then know what exactly his condition is.
"I'm good," he stated. Not wanting to give his doctor's number. She'd scold him after that as if he was a school kid and he wasn't ready yet.
Not ready for what? To be a school kid? His heart mocked and ASR had successfully shut it up, plastering its mouth and legs if it had any.
"Yeah, that is why you avoided Lavanya's touch at the party," Khushi was sarcastic, rolling her eyes, and she huffed in annoyance.
"Let's talk about something else," Arnav dismissed the topics. Not want to discuss more on his health. He isn't here for that.
"If you say so! So, tell me how are you and your family?" Khushi didn't want to drag more when he isn't willing to. It would only make him more uncomfortable.
"They're the same!" Arnav's words sounded so simple. Yet the meaning behind the words, the intensity they carried was something unexplainable and could be understood by people who understand him — Khushi in other words.
She understood that and bristled in ire, "Why are you even tolerating them? Now you have a job, I mean a company, get out of there and live for yourself, don't you think it's the best option for your mental health?"
Why risk one's mental health for those who never cared?
"I'll for sure but before that, I need to complete my duties!" Arnav said. He needs to complete his duties as a brother and brother-in-law before he moves away and lives for himself.
"As if they're doing their duties," Khushi twisted her mouth, rolling her eyes again.
"Doesn't mean I neglect mine. I don't want any regrets," he growled. He's already regretting and that's more than enough for a lifetime with the baggage of nightmares and panic attacks he already had on his shoulders.
Again, how much more can he take?
"Anyway, any friends, or were you still like forever alone?" Khushi diverted the topic before it could serious. Now was not the time and definitely not when she doesn't know his exact health condition.
Arnav for a long time smiled wholeheartedly at someone's name, "Aryan! Aryan is someone who understands me better after you."
"And he is?" Khushi was amused and inquired. He must be special or him to quirk that smile on his face.
"My doctor," he stated, smiling.
"Great. Now I definitely need to talk to him," she muttered. If your doctor is your friend, no matter what, you'd be fine soon. He'd make sure of that. She needs to meet the doctor! She smiled in delight at Arnav's smile.
Their day had just started with moments of serendipity!
To be continued..,
Let me know what you think about the update.
Apologies! The Wattpad server was not working for me since yesterday morning and I had to raise a ticket, it's resolved today just a few minutes ago. The app is still a problem, tho! But no issues, Wattpad Support is helping me find out the issue. Since it looked like not an operational issue for everyone except me!
Here's the update I was supposed to give yesterday.
Let me also know if you're having any issues with viewing my stories, voting, or commenting, or with my announcements or follows or any other thing basically! I'd raise a ticket. My account seems to have some issues I recently discovered, let me know if you've any!
