Alex was absolutely thrilled.

It was her first New Year with Maggie! How could she not be?

It was two days until New Years, but still.

Maggie was panicking.

It was her first holiday with Alex, and she wanted it to be perfect.

"I'm so excited!" Alex shouted.

Maggie rolled her eyes.

Alex glared at her.

"What? Did I upset the hyper princess?" Maggie asked sarcastically.

"Maggie!"

"What? I'm allowed to be sarcastic, right?"

Alex sighed.

"So mean," Alex sighed quietly.

"I heard that!"

"Alex! Can you calm down?"

Alex looked down.

"I'm just excited, alright? This is our first holiday together!"

Maggie looked into Alex's eyes.

"I'm just...  nervous," she sighed quietly.

"Why?" Alex asked.

"Well... the first time this happened I was busted by my dad and kicked out."

Alex sighed sadly.

"What an asshole," she said as she walked over for a hug.

Maggie happily returned it.
