"Hey," Caitlin greeted the rest of Team Flash as she walked in. These days, that was the best they could get from her.

"Hey, Caitlin," Cisco greeted. 

Right now, all of Team Flash was mourning. Dante, Henry, Ronnie/Jay... it was a hard time.

They sat down, got a few things done and left feeling worse than before they had come in.

It was just a normal day.

...

"Hey... Kara..."

Kara ignored her sister and marched up to the front.

She didn't miss the slight wince, but she didn't care. She couldn't make herself care.

Feelings hurt right now.

...

The next time they were together, they were both creepily similar.

Like... empty. Soulless.

At some point, Sara asked about it, but they both blew her off.

So she set a plan in motion. I mean, that's just how she rolls. Sara knows what heartache looks like.

...

"Hey," Caitlin greeted whoever it was weakly. She didn't really care, but she was sick of answering questions about her being mute.

"Hey." Weirdly enough, the voice sounded similarily like her own. Empty.

"Uh... I'm sorry, but I forgot your name," she said, hoping the girl would get the hint.

"Oh... well, my name's Kara," the girl said, obviously trying to wiggle her way out of the conversation.

What else did they have in common?

...

Soon, after quite a bit of probing, they managed to keep up a conversation.

Sure, it was about flowers, but you gotta start somewhere.

Kara didn't know why this girl was taking such an interest in her, or why Caitlin reminded her of herself.

She just knew... knew that Caitlin might be able to make her feel whole again. To... get rid of this hollowness.

Even if Caitlin couldn't, this was the most she'd talked in a row in the last month, or even since Mon-El... she couldn't even think it anymore.

"You know," Kara said after a while. "This is the most I've talked in a while."

Caitlin laughed and nodded.

"I know what you mean. Ever since my husband died," a flash of pain appeared on her face, but it disappeared just as quickly, "I have this... hollowness? inside. You know?"

Kara nodded.

"I was in love with an alien. Long story short, his mother was evil, and about to kill our planet, so I had to do something that would kill him if he stayed. So he left, and I've been lonely ever since."

"We're just two peas in a pod," Caitlin said.

Note: Why didn't this happen? ME didn't need to come back! And Caitlin could've finally gotten a girlfriend.

Sigh.
