Chapter 2: Joining Team Arrow

The next day

At Oliver's apartment

Barry slowly started to wake up as he heard noises.

He didn't know where he was or how he ended up here.

He hoped he didn't sleep with a girl he didn't know.

Barry sat up, rubbed his eyes, and saw Oliver and William talking while eating.

Barry asked, "Hey, guys."

William said, "Oh, hey, Uncle Barry."

Barry said, "Hey, bud. It's been a while. How have you been?"

William asked, "Do you not remember last night?"

Barry said, "What about last night? Did I do something stupid again?" questioning everything.

William said, "Uh, well... yeah. But then again, every time I have seen you, you do something stupid."

Oliver and Barry chuckled at that as they both smiled. Oliver looked at William and said, "Hey, bud. Could I talk to Uncle Barry alone? We need to talk. Okay?"

William said, "Okay." He got up, looked at Barry, and said, "It's good to see you again, Uncle Barry."

Barry replied, "You too, bud." Then William went into his room.

Oliver began to remember something as Barry walked over.

Flashback

Oliver was in a black void.

Then he saw Mar Novu.

Oliver said, "Just when I thought I was dying, here you are."

Novu said, "As much as I want this to end, Mr. Queen, it can't just yet. You have restarted the multiverse. But I was hoping you could go back in time on another Earth. To when you were fighting Ricardo Diaz. Because with his help, your friend Barry Allen's life changed on that Earth."

Oliver said, "What are you talking about?"

Novu said, "Iris West died at the hands of the Samuroid. Barry Allen is in despair. And only you can bring him back to his normal self."

Oliver asked, "What can I do? Am I dead?"

Novu said, "No, Mr. Queen. Not yet. Because while you are dead on Earth-Prime, I am sending you to this Earth... as a second chance for you. You can live this life, once you are done helping Barry Allen."

Oliver asked, "How? How can I help him? Iris was his rock. So... how could I be that for him? I guess his city still isn't sunshine and rainbows," as he let out a sigh.

Novu said, "Just be the good friend you are to this Barry Allen, just like the last one."

Oliver said, "This Barry is broken. The one I know isn't."

Novu said, "You are right. But I know you can do it. I'll give you the memories of your counterpart so you can blend in. Are you ready to help your friend now?"

Oliver looked out and Novu had shown his friends crying over his dead body.

Oliver sighed and said, "I'll do it. Just let them know I'm alive."

Novu nodded and said, "Of course," then he touched his shoulder and Oliver's eyes widened as he saw everything his counterpart went through.

Some were the same and some were not. In this reality, he didn't get with Felicity, he got with Dinah Drake.

Team Flash had joined his team once Barry had disbanded it.

And Barry had started to drink every day.

Oliver hated seeing that.

Oliver knew that Barry would be the best of the heroes.

To think that the kind Barry would be depressed and drinking.

Oliver pulled away, as he was breathing heavily.

Novu says, "That is all of the memories of your counterpart."

Oliver said, "Wait. Why are you sending me back?"

Novu nods and says, "Cause someone changed the timeline of this Earth. Someone who can manipulate the time to get what he wants."

Oliver's face changed to his pissed look and he said, "Thawne."

Novu nods his head and says, "It is Thawne. He changed the timeline so that Clifford DeVoe didn't become the Thinker. Instead, Cayden James designed the Samuroid to go after people you care about. Which is also Barry Allen. If Barry hadn't destroyed the Samuroid, it would have gone after Sara Lance, John Diggle, Kara Danvers, Clark Kent, and many more heroes you care for."

Oliver asked, "Kara and Clark live on this Earth?"

Novu says, "They do. Now, what I'm about to ask of you is: I need you to do it. Can you kill Eobard Thawne?"

Oliver nodded and said, "I'll kill him for what he has done to Barry. I'll make him suffer."

Novu smiles and says, "It looks like no matter what Earth you go to... you view Barry Allen as a little brother."

Oliver said, "He is. To me. Send me there."

Novu makes a motion with his hand, and Oliver's vision goes black. Then he wakes up and sees he is in his apartment.

Oliver saw the news on a newsman and said, "This is just in. A beloved reporter, Iris West, was murdered by an advanced robot. The city is baffled by the robot's intentions. The Flash made a comeback after half a year and took down the robot. The public is anxiously anticipating further updates on this enigmatic incident. Stay tuned for more updates on this story."

End of Flashback

Oliver was brought out of his thoughts when Barry said, "Ollie. Ollie. You okay?"

Oliver said, "I'm fine. But, Barry... Your team..."

Barry interrupted, "I don't have a team. I disbanded it."

Oliver said, "Okay. Your former team is now a part of mine. Including one that never got to join since he became a meta after you came out of the Speed Force. And I want you to join the team with the rest of your former team."

Barry sighed and said, "Ollie, I don't want to."

Oliver said, "You're joining the team. End of discussion."

Barry said, "You can't just force me, Ollie. I said I didn't want to."

Oliver set the dirty dishes in the sink and said, "And I said you're joining, end of discussion. I'm doing this cause I can't stand to see you like this. How long has it been since you've showered? How long has it been since you talked to your best friends? How long has it been since you talked to Joe?"

Barry wanted to say something but knew he didn't have an answer.

Oliver said, "That's what I thought."

Barry replied, "Fine. I might not have done those things in a while, but that doesn't mean I need to be forced to join Team Arrow."

Oliver said, "When you first met me you wanted to join. Remember?"

Barry remembered that day.

Oliver had told him no.

Barry said, "You told me no."

Oliver said, "I know. Which is why I'm changing my mind. Cause... you need this as much as me. I need you, Barr. Cause you are the best of us. And I know how hard it is to lose a loved one. But they wouldn't want you to be like this."

Oliver sat down next to Barry and continued, "Iris, wouldn't want you to be like this. Cause she loved Barry Allen. The guy who always did what was necessary. Please... join the Team."

Barry sighed and said, "Fine. I'll join."

Oliver said, "Good. Cause I could use help against this guy I'm fighting."

Barry asked, "Who are you fighting?"

Oliver said, "Ricardo Diaz. Also known as the Dragon. He's taken over Star City. And I need to get it back."

Barry nodded and said, "Let's get this city back."

Oliver said, "First... shower. You reek of alcohol."

Barry said, "Good point." then he sped into the shower and washed himself at super speed.

Barry came speeding back and said, "Clean."

Oliver asked, "Are those my clothes?"

Barry said, "I didn't have anything clean on me."

Oliver nodded and said, "Fine, let's go. Raisa is coming to look after William."

Barry nodded and they left the apartment.

At the Arrowcave

Oliver and Barry entered the Arrowcave.

Barry said, "Glad to see the Arrowcave is looking good."

Oliver said, "Please, don't call it that. Just... don't."

Barry smiled and said, "Fine... The Bunker."

The duo chuckled and Cisco looked over and said, "Guys, it's Barry."

Every member of Team Flash looked over, smiling at Barry.

Barry said, "Hey, guys."

Joe said, "It's good to see you, kid," as he walked over and hugged Barry.

Barry hugged him back and said, "You too, Joe."

They let go, and every member of Team Flash hugged Barry and had a heartfelt moment with Barry.

Then a voice said, "Hey, Rookie."

Barry looked over to see Ralph Dibny.

Barry said, "Ralph? What the hell is he doing here?"

Oliver said, "I've been training him. I tried the arrow, didn't work, if you were wondering."

Barry said, "Too bad."

Ralph said, "Oh, come on, Rookie. It's fine. I'm over the whole... you getting me fired. Besides, I'm a PI now. I hear you quit working over at CCPD as well. And I'm sorry to hear about your fiancée, Rookie."

Felicity said, "Don't listen to him. It's good to see you, Barry," as she hugged him.

Barry smiled and said, "You too," as he hugged her back.

Joe said, "Well, we were all about to leave and get something to eat. But I'm guessing you're here to help Oliver?"

Barry said, "Yeah, I am. Why don't you all go? I'll help Ollie. Maybe it's about time the Flash makes another comeback."

Cisco said, "Hell, yes. I've been waiting for this day. Come on, guys. Follow your boy. I made a new suit for you."

Barry said, "What? Another? I didn't get a chance to wear the other one."

Cisco said, "Well, Oliver mentioned that it didn't look like you and asked me to make one close to what he drew, which is surprising that he can draw."

Oliver said, "Hey, come on. I'm a total idiot."

And the group laughed at that.

They walk over to a suitcase holding his suit.

It opened when Barry stood in front of it and revealed the suit.

Barry saw the piece in front of the suit and asked, "What is that?"

Cisco said, "Oh, that.. is for this." and he tossed a ring to Barry.

Barry caught the ring and looked at it with a smile.

Barry said, "Nice." He put it on and held it against the metal bar piece, and the suit disappeared.

Barry asked, "What do I do now?"

Cisco said, "You punch the air."

Barry punched the air, and the suit came out, allowing him to speed into it.

Once he was in the suit, he dropped to his knees and looked up at the team.

Electricity was building all around him as he looked at his arms.

He stood up and the electricity disappeared.

Barry said, "Cisco, you have outdone yourself, man."

Barry touched the side of his mask and his mask disappeared.

Barry said, "You're amazing, Cisco. I love you."

Cisco said, "I love you too, buddy. Let me know how the suit is in the field. Laters."

As the team leaves the Bunker, Diggle walks in and says, "Hey. Hey, Barry, been a while."

Barry said, "You too, Dig. Good to see you."

Diggle asked, "New suit?"

Barry nodded and said, "Yeah, it is. Oliver helped Cisco with the design."

Diggle complimented, "It looks awesome. Listen, Felicity, Barry, do you think we could have the room?"

Felicity said, "Yeah, yeah, of course." Then Felicity left the room.

Barry asked, "Do you want me to go, Ollie? I thought I was here to help with Diaz."

Oliver said, "You are, Barry. Just... why don't you go with Felicity for a bit."

Barry left but didn't leave the room. He hid behind the wall, quickly sped out of his suit, and put it in the ring.

Oliver asked, "Get some air?"

Diggle said, "Yeah, I did. And with it, some clarity."

Diggle turned to Oliver with his hands on his hips and said, "Oliver, it's totally within your rights to keep the hood, it's yours. And you're right, my frustration was never with the uniform. It was with the man underneath it."

Oliver said, "I don't understand."

Diggle explained, "I didn't either, not at first. I so appreciated your apology. But something about it gnawed at me. That you needed to be the Green Arrow, that it completed you. This was supposed to be about saving the city. Helping the people. Not ourselves."

Oliver admitted, "I know that. It's a little too dangerous. And I've lost just a little too much along the way for it to be about that."

Diggle pointed out, "But yet here you are. You've gotten married, raising a son, you've become the mayor."

Oliver asked, "So what?"

Diggle said, "So, Oliver, you were never supposed to stretch yourself so thin and in so many different directions that the people suffer."

Oliver said, "We have been in tough spots before. That's also why I brought in Team Flash. They agreed to be on this team so we're not stretching ourselves so thin. I brought Barry here. Barry keeps all of us focused because he is the best of us."

Diggle said, "You are right. With a team. Even before Team Flash joined, even before Curtis, Rene, and Dinah, there was Roy, there was Thea, but, Oliver, the way you lead alienates everyone and everything around you, look."

Oliver sighed and Diggle said, "Putting the team under surveillance was a mistake. We had an opportunity to save the Vigilante. You made a different call. The same with Laurel and the money."

Oliver asked, "When did all of these just magically become my decisions? I seem to remember you right there next to me. And if you didn't agree why didn't you tell me so? How are we supposed to be a team, if you won't tell me you don't agree with some of my decisions?"

Diggle said, "Cause I thought you could be restrained and cautious, Oliver. But that's not you, you have changed, and you have grown so much and it's been my honor, it's been my privilege to watch you. But Oliver, you're still you, and if you're just doing this for you like you just admitted..."

Oliver said, "I didn't say I was doing it just for myself."

Diggle interrupted, "If this isn't 100% for our city, then you are not the hero that it deserves. And you never will be."

Oliver said, "I know, it sounded like I was doing it just for me, but that is a lie. I'm doing this because I believe I need to be the Green Arrow. Not because I want to be. But because I feel I need to be. And yes, you're right. If it isn't 100% for the city, maybe I shouldn't be. But I am giving 100%. Because even though I don't have the rest of the team, I have you, I have Team Flash, I now have Barry. We can get our city back. And I believe we can get our city out of the grasp of Ricardo Diaz now."

Diggled said, "You still don't see it, do you, Oliver?"

Oliver asked, "See what?"

Diggle said, "He's already won, Oliver. He has the city wired and it happened under your watch."

Oliver shouted, "He showed up while you were the Green Arrow! You bought drugs from him, John. You funded what he is doing right now! The entire time I put you in that hood and you hid having a drug problem."

Diggle said, "And I was putting my body through hell for the sake of our city."

Oliver said, "No, you put the team at risk by lying! I had to dive off a bridge to save Rene's life because you were in the field, and you weren't 100%, and nobody knew it."

Diggle asked, "You really wanna bring up Rene right now when he is still hospitalized for the beating that you put on him?"

Oliver said, "He didn't give me a choice. He shot at me. Did I want to hurt him? No, I didn't. But it happened. I didn't want any of this. But I don't want to be taken away from my son when I just got him. You should know exactly how I feel about this, John."

Diggle said, "And I do. But you still hurt him, Oliver. He's still in the hospital."

Oliver said, "But he didn't give me a choice."

Diggle shouted, "I think that you leave a trail of bodies every damn place that you go. Sure, you've changed. But what comfort is that to William? Whose mother is dead because of the bad decisions that you've made."

Oliver had tears in his eyes when he said that.

Diggle had tears knowing he shouldn't have said that last part.

Oliver said, "I'm not doing this with you. You're just saying that to make me say something back to you. I won't play your game to tear us apart. Please, don't mention William again," as he walked away.

Oliver left the room and went into the elevator.

Barry's anger simmered just below the surface as he stalked across the room, his eyes locked on Diggle. "Did you seriously just say that?" he demanded, his voice low and deadly.

Diggle stood his ground, his expression unyielding. "It was necessary, okay?"

Barry's hands clenched into fists at his sides. "How in the hell was that necessary?" he exploded.

Diggle's face reddened with rage. "Why don't you just shut up? You're no better than him!" he yelled, jabbing a finger in Barry's direction. "How many villains did you kill when you first started as The Flash, huh? You left a trail of bodies just like Oliver! Probably just as many as him, before you figured out a different way to do things!"

A muscle ticked in Barry's jaw as he took a step closer to Diggle. "My trail of bodies doesn't include my own brother," he spat.

With a fierce battle cry, Diggle launched himself at Barry, fist flying. Barry barely had time to duck, but he felt the rush of Diggle's knuckles grazing his cheek. He sprang up, his fist connecting with a sickening crunch to Diggle's nose. Blood spurted, staining Diggle's shirt and Barry's knuckles.

Diggle roared, tackling Barry to the ground. They crashed into the bank of monitors, sending them tumbling to the floor in a shower of sparks. Barry rolled, avoiding Diggle's flailing punches, and managed to land a solid hit to his stomach. Diggle grunted, doubling over, but he recovered quickly, his fist snapping out to catch Barry in the jaw. Barry's head rang as he was knocked to the floor.

He scrambled to his feet, a fierce determination burning in his chest. With a battle cry, he launched himself at Diggle, taking him down through a glass case. The sound of shattering glass filled the air, and Diggle grunted as they hit the floor. Barry straddled him, pinning his arms to the ground, and drew back his fist to deliver another blow.

"Stop!" Felicity's voice cut through the chaos, shrill with fear. "That's enough!"

Barry panted, his chest heaving, but he didn't back down. "It's not enough," he snarled, his eyes never leaving Diggle's face.

Diggle bucked beneath him, trying to throw him off. Barry ducked under his flailing fist and managed to land an uppercut to Diggle's chin. Diggle's head snapped back, his eyes glazing, and he went limp. Barry straddled him, his fists flying, pounding against Diggle's face over and over. "I didn't kill anyone!" he yelled, his voice cracking. "They got themselves killed! The Reverse-Flash killed most of them, not me!"

His vision blurred as tears of rage and pain streamed down his face. His hand vibrated with the urge to speed, to make Diggle pay. "I never killed anyone," he choked out, his fist connecting with a sickening crunch. "But I'm about to."

"No, Barry, don't!" Felicity screamed, rushing towards him.

Just as Barry's fist was about to fall again, a voice cut through the chaos, echoing off the walls. "Barry, stop!"

Barry's gaze snapped to the side, his heart racing as he took in Oliver's looming presence.

His hand stilled on Felicity's, the vibrations ceasing abruptly.

Felicity's voice cut through the tension, her words laced with incredulity. "Have you two gone completely over the edge?"

Oliver's retort was immediate, his voice crackling with anger. "Diaz is running through the city like a cancer and you two are in here doing what exactly?"

Barry's response was laced with venom, his hand rising to dab at the blood welling on his lip. "Nothing, Ollie."

Oliver's eyes narrowed as he took in Diggle's battered face, his nose swollen and likely broken. "What did you do to piss off Barry of all people?"

Felicity slammed her fist on the table, making both men jump. "No. This is what's going to happen. We are gonna go back to work, looking for the needle that is Diaz's Vertigo operation in the city's haystack and the two of you are gonna pull your heads out of your asses!"

Diggle's gruff agreement was immediate. "She's right."

Barry's glare could have melted steel as he rounded on Diggle, his voice low and deadly. "Fuck... you. Fuck you. As far as I'm concerned, you're lucky they stopped me. Cause I would have killed you, and I really would have added a body to my already fake body count." With that, he wheeled and stalked off, leaving Oliver and Diggle staring after him in stunned silence.

At Oliver's Apartment

Raisa was engrossed in the TV as William focused on his homework beside her.

Suddenly, Barry stumbled in, his face a mess of cuts and bruises. He headed straight for the kitchen, likely in search of ice or something to dull the pain.

William's eyes widened in shock as he took in his uncle's battered face. "Uncle Barry? What happened to you?" he asked, his voice trembling with worry.

Barry forced a weak smile, trying to reassure him. "Don't worry about me, bud. I promise I'm okay."

But William wasn't convinced. "Should I get the first aid kit?" he pressed, his brow furrowed in concern.

Barry hesitated, "Uh, well...I don't know."

Raisa, who had been quietly observing the exchange, stepped in. "How about I take care of Mr. Barry and you focus on your homework, William?" she suggested, her voice warm but firm.

Barry nodded, accepting her plan. "Actually, yeah. That's a good idea. Go finish your homework, Will."

William looked crestfallen but reluctantly returned to his books, his eyes darting back to his uncle every few seconds.

Raisa, who had slipped into the bathroom and returned with the first aid kit, began the gentle process of patching Barry up. He hissed in pain as she cleaned his wounds, but remained quiet, accepting of his treatment.

Raisa, still dabbing at Barry's wounds, asked, "So, mind telling me what happened, Mr. Barry? You look like you've been through a war."

Barry winced as Raisa probed a cut. "Well, I... a friend of mine and Oliver's said something that set me off. He punched me, then I... I don't know, it just escalated. Next thing I knew, we were rolling around on the office floor."

Raisa's hands paused in their work. "What did this man say to you, Mr. Barry?"

Barry's jaw clenched. "He said that I'm the reason my friends are dead."

Raisa's touch turned gentle. "I don't think he would know that. He wasn't there, was he?"

Barry shook his head, not meeting her eyes. "No, he wasn't, Raisa."

Raisa said, "Then you did nothing wrong. You were fighting back. And that's one good quality in a person. One that is willing to stand up for what is right."

Barry looked up, surprise flickering across his face. "That is very true, Raisa."

Then she applied rubbing alcohol to his wound and he hissed, his eyes watering in pain.

William, who had been quietly observing from the couch, sat up straighter, concern etched on his face.

Raisa murmured, "Sorry, Mr. Barry. But, it needs to be done."

Barry just nodded, his breath coming in short gasps.

Raisa worked quickly, and efficiently, bandaging the cut on his forehead and tending to the other scrapes.

When she finally finished, Barry let out a shaky breath.

Raisa said, "All done. Do you need anything else, Mr. Barry? Maybe some water? You look a little pale."

Barry shook his head, still looking a bit dazed. "No, Raisa. But thank you."

Raisa nodded, her brow furrowed in concern. "Of course, Mr. Barry. If you're sure you're okay..."

She trailed off, then turned and rejoined William on the couch, her eyes never leaving Barry's face.

After getting patched up, Barry hobbled into the kitchen, searching for something to quiet the gnawing hunger in his belly. His nephew William found him there, concern etched on his young face.

"Was it Mr. Diggle who hurt you, Uncle Barry?" William asked, his voice steady despite the fear lurking in his eyes.

Barry could only manage a nod, feeling a fresh wave of guilt and anger crash over him. But William didn't shy away. Instead, he stepped forward, his expression determined.

"You know, Uncle Barry, a hero doesn't make trouble. He stops it," William said, his words carrying a wisdom beyond his years. "You need to stop blaming yourself and get back to being who you really are. The Flash."

Barry stared at his nephew, letting William's words sink in. He realized that the boy was right. Wallowing in his grief and anger wasn't going to bring Iris back. It was only going to pull him further away from the hero he once was. The hero that Central City still needed, but now Star City needed him as well.

With newfound resolve, Barry reached out and ruffled William's hair. "You know, kiddo, you're smarter than I gave you credit for."

William grinned, looking relieved. "I learned from the best, Uncle Barry."

Together, they stood there in the quiet of the kitchen, the first seeds of healing and determination taking root. Barry knew he still had a long road ahead of him, but with William by his side, he felt ready to face it head-on. Ready to lay his grief to rest and once again don the red suit. Ready to be The Flash once more.

Barry smiled and said, "I got to go back to the office. You be good for Raisa."

William nodded and said, "Look who you're talking to. I'm your nephew."

Barry hugged William and waved bye as he left for the Arrowcave.

At the Arrowcave

Barry had returned to the Arrowcave, the dim lighting and familiar smell of leather and metal a welcome respite from the chaos that had ensued. Once he was there, he saw Diggle and Oliver, their faces etched with a mix of concern and wariness. Diggle was shocked to see Barry since he attacked him earlier, the memory of their clash still fresh and painful.

"I'm sorry," Barry said, his voice barely above a whisper as he broke the silence. "I wasn't in control...I didn't mean to hurt you." He took a step forward, his eyes pleading for forgiveness.

Diggle nodded, his expression softening slightly. "I know," he replied. "I'm sorry too...for not being there for you when you needed me." He extended a hand, an offering of peace.

Oliver stepped forward, his eyes locked on his friend. "I'm sorry as well, Diggle. I should have seen the signs, done something to prevent this." His voice was heavy with regret and self-blame.

The three of them stood there for a moment, the only sound the quiet hum of the computers and the heavy beating of their hearts. Then, slowly, Diggle reached out and clasped Barry's hand, a silent promise of forgiveness and renewed friendship. Oliver placed a hand on both of their shoulders, a symbol of their unbreakable bond.

Once they were finished, Felicity told them she had a lead to Diaz's Vertigo shipment, her announcement a stark reminder of the danger that still lurked in the shadows, waiting to strike. "We have work to do," she said, her voice firm and resolute. The four of them shared a look, a silent vow to face whatever came next together.

Felicity said, "Found the location of Diaz's Vertigo operation, have you three found any shred of sanity? Perhaps?"

Diggle said, "Let's go."

And the group walked over to the glass cases to get on their suits.

While Barry punches the air and super-speeds into his suit.

At Diaz's Vertigo Warehouse

Green Arrow, Spartan, and Flash were looking from above as they were looking at everyone making the Vertigo.

Spartan quietly said, "I count 13 bogies in this den alone, heavily armed."

Green Arrow said, "No Diaz."

Flash said "Got at least 20 million Vertigo here. He's gonna miss it."

Green Arrow said, "The only way that we'll make it out of here is if we trust each other."

Spartan said, "We've been through worse, Oliver."

Flash said, "Yeah, Let's do this. Together."

Green Arrow said, "I'm not sure that we have been through worse, John, Barry."

Spartan said, "You're Quarterback." as he aimed his gun.

Flash said, "You call it, Green Arrow."

Green Arrow took a second to respond with, "Let's move."

And they crawl across the side.

Green Arrow fired an arrow and it caused sparks to fly once it exploded and turned off the electricity.

A guard said, "We're under fire, get the product out of here now."

Then a worker tried to put pockets on top of other buckets but was blown back by an explosion.

Green Arrow ziplines in, holding onto his bow.

Flash super-sped in and began to attack some of the guards.

Green Arrow landed and quickly pulled an arrow out and fired an arrow that made a big explosion.

Causing some guards to get knocked down.

Spartan ran up to the side of Green Arrow, then they started to walk together.

Flash sped over to them as he walked behind them.

Green Arrow disarms a man, as he was shooting up in the air.

Spartan had punched and knocked a gun out of the way of him so he didn't get shot, then he twirled the guard around and fired at another guard knocking him down with a bullet.

Flash supersped forward as he super-speed punches the guards in front of them.

Green Arrow walked up to one and did a spin kick to the side of the guard's face.

Then he fired an arrow knocking a guard down, then Flash caught someone trying to hit Green Arrow and stopped them as he held them in one place, then he kicked the guard to his side, then flipped the guard he was holding on the ground, then kicks the guard in front of him.

Green Arrow said, "You're doing well, Flash. I haven't seen you fight that well in a while."

Flash said, "I learned from the best. Let's move, Green Arrow, Spartan."

Then Green Arrow, Spartan, and Flash split up.

Then Flash hears Green Arrow of comms say "Place is bigger than expected, how many more explosives do we have?"

Flash quickly took down a room of guards and said, "I'm all out. Just finished putting up the last one."

Then Flash hears Spartan say "Me too. All out."

Green Arrow said over comms, "Then we improvise."

Spartan says over comms, "Vertigo's flammable in its liquid state."

Green Arrow said over comms, "Headed there now."

Spartan says over comms, "You won't make it."

Flash interrupts "I'll go, guys. I'll be in and out before anyone notices. I could figure something out and be out in a Flash."

Green Arrow said, "Really, Flash? Be out in a Flash?"

Flash said, "Oh, come on, Now is not the time to be nitpicking me. Go!"

Flash super-speeds to the room with the vertigo.

He then quickly fired lightning at it, and then a gunfire went off.

He went into Flashtime and looked around to see a guard had shot at him.

He moves out of the way of the bullet and knocks the guard back.

Flash then puts an explosive arrow into the dent he made.

Green Arrow and Spartan had joined Flash outside.

Outside

The trio were looking at the warehouse.

Green Arrow said, "Do it."

Spartan hit the trigger and everything blew up in the warehouse.

The trio walked the explosion and Green Arrow said, "Thanks for having my back."

Flash says "No problem."

Spartan said, "Yeah. We should get back to the Bunker."

At the Bunker

The trio enters walking down the stairs and Felicity says, "Judging by the burn radius of the warehouse, looks like we got all of Diaz's stash."

Diggle said, "Oliver, Barry, I know I already said this, but... I'm really sorry about what I said."

Oliver says "You apologized already, John, so did I. So did Barry."

Diggle said, "I know. I know. But what I said about the calls you've made. Where you've brought us. The team, the city... I just can't shake them."

Oliver asks "What, you can't shake that you said it?"

Diggle said, "I can't shake that it's true. Oliver, Barry, for six years, I have followed the chain of command without question, even when my heart told me there was a better way. I trusted it, I trusted you, Oliver. But the inescapable truth is that people have lost faith in your leadership."

Diggle walked over and Barry interrupted, "Hold on. I trust Oliver. I haven't lost faith in his leadership. You seem to forget this is his team. He created it. He started it. It should end... with Ollie."

Diggle said, "You're right, Barry. Truth is, Oliver, you have become a better man. But with your focus split... A worse leader. The Green Arrow allows you to become the best version of yourself and I respect that. I respect you. But if I'm gonna be the best version of myself, Oliver, Barry, it can't be with you."

Barry says "Wait. What if we could find a way to manage Oliver's team as Mayor, Green Arrow, and everything else? Even getting back the rest of the team."

Diggle asks "Do you really think it's possible, Barry?"

Barry said, "I do. Cause this team is a family. And families, we fight. Like today."

Oliver nods and says "He's right, Dig. It's about time we get the rest of the team back together."

Diggle asked, "You're serious?"

Oliver nods and says "Yeah. Let's do this."

The Next day

At Oliver's apartment

Oliver and Barry were looking out of the window.

Oliver asks "You okay, Barry?"

Barry nodded and said, "I'm fine. But I know one thing. That we got to think of how to bring the team together under one leadership. Cause it's needed. Cisco and Wally aren't enough to protect this city. And with Joe canned at SCPD..."

Oliver says "Yeah, we're gonna have a hard time protecting the city. We can't be everywhere at once."

Felicity had walked over and said, "Hey. I know it's going to be rough. Trying to bring the team back together. But you'll always have me and Barry. And Dig. We're not going anywhere."

Then Oliver's phone rang and Oliver answered, "What's up, Quentin?"

Quentin said over the phone, "Turn on the TV, any channel."

Oliver ends the call and turns on the TV.

The TV turned on to see Hill and Armand.

Armand said, "Obviously the Mayor terminated us to impede the prosecution of his activities as the Green Arrow. We also just got reports that Oliver Queen's half-brother, Barry Allen, is the known meta-human vigilante known as The Flash. What Oliver Queen and his brother did is an impeachable offense. It was a gross overstep of power. Our mayor should be held accountable for his actions. Thank you."

Barry's eyes showed confusion. "Damn it. How do they know I'm your half-brother? Or The Flash for that matter," he asked.

Oliver said, "I don't know. But if we don't find a way to put this genie back in the bottle... Or Team Arrow is done."

To be continued...
