CHAPTER SIXTY-TWO
AN UNTOLD STORY, PT. 1
╚═════ ═════╝
"DID YOU GET INTO YOUR OWN RUM?" Zelena said as they watched Hook try and pick the lock of the cage...with his hook. "You believe that's going to work when my magic can't?"
"Well, I suppose I could just do nothing, but then again, that's your job!" Hook fired back, causing Teresa to smirk from where she sat next to Snow.
"If you really want to get out of here, I can arrange a trip right back to the Underworld!"
"Stop it!" David snapped, stepping in between the feeding pirate and witch before a fight could break out. "Now, we need to be patient. The Groundsman promised to fix the wand and bring it back to us."
"Unfortunately," said the Groundsman, having walked in when they were shouting. Which I why they hadn't noticed him moments ago. "I was only able to keep half my promise."
"What do you mean? Where's the wand?" Zelena asked.
"I repaired it, but then the Warden took it from me."
Teresa was now fuming; she jumped up from where she sat with Snow and up to the bars. "You let him take it?!"
"I didn't come empty-handed, though," he told them, holding up a key. "Seems the Orderly, he enjoyed a little bit too much whiskey today."
"We need to get the wand back from that warden," Snow said as he began to unlock the chain. "Do you know where he is?"
"Eh, no, uh, but first things first, before we find him, we must have a way to defeat him. He's quite powerful. Now, I might have a way, but it is dangerous." The Groundmans opened the bars, allowing them to step out.
"Hasn't stopped us before," Teresa muttered, walking past him.
As they followed him down multiple dimly lit hallways, occasionally having to duck beyond a wall to avoid being spotted, Teresa Holmes had only one thought on her mind.
Henry Mills.
She wondered if he was okay, if Gold had harmed him or Violet in any way. She would surely murder him if so, for laying hand on not only his grandson, but her soulmate...and her only other friend; Violet. She hoped that Henry hadn't destroyed magic, for if they truly could not leave this place, then they would forever be stuck, and Henry and the rest of the residents in Storybrooke wouldn't be able to help them. Teresa wondered if Henry even knew about her not being Storybrooke anymore. But he mostly likely did, especially if Emma and Regina had found, for Granny would have contacted to inform them about what happened.
Snow noticed the trouble expression on Teresa's face, so she leaned over and placed a delicate hand on her friends shoulder. "Are you alright?"
Teresa but her lip, pulling hard at the thin layer of skin. "I'm worried."
"Teri, we'll get out of here," Snow said.
"Not about us...about Henry." Snow offered a sad smile. "What if Emma and Regina haven't found him and Violet yet? What — "
"He brought Violet with him?"
Teresa nodded. "Snow, what if Gold got to him before they did?"
Snow sighed. "Henry's a strong kid."
"That doesn't reassure me when he has the Dark One searching for him. You know, the one who's blood relation, yet acts like they aren't. Has there ever been a moment where he's ever cared about his grandson?"
"Some time ago, but when Neal died, Gold changed. Losing a child, no matter how old, it the worst kind of pain someone can suffer."
Soon, they were outside the mansion and in crowd of tons of people. People...men, women, children, all sorts of people from all sorts of realms.
"Where are we?" Hook asked as they continued to follow the Groundsman. "It's like all the realms all at once."
"You're closer than you think. This land is a refuge filled with outcasts from all over. Each forced to flee their problems. Each finding safe haven here"
"Forced to flee from what?" Teresa asked.
"Well, the reasons are as varied as the populace, and everyone has their own tale," he replied. "That's why this place has come to be known as The Land of Untold Stories."
"It's a tad ironic of a name, no, given that this land is seemingly filled with stories," Hook said.
"Perhaps, but there's only one story we need to worry about right now. That's our own."
"Right, and that story better end with us getting back to our world."
➳
Henry stormed down the street with an all new power of determination flowing through his veins. Violet was having to practically jog to keep up with him.
"Henry," she called. "Henry, will you stop?" She reached out and grabbed his shoulder, pulling him to a stop. "Your moms told us to wait back in the library."
"They could be in trouble. And since when do you care what they say? You already ran away with me."
"You lied about the Dark Grail," Violet murmured. "Henry...I know you're scared. And if you really think this is the best thing to do, I'll help you."
Henry sighed, turning to face his friend. As much as he was thankful for Violet's presence, he couldn't help but wish Teresa had come as well. "Thank you," he said, before starting to walk once more.
He came to an abrupt stop, however, when his eyes landed on a dark purple cloud formation in the sky. It was crackling with low rumbles of thunder and strange bolts of lightening. It was magic. Henry knew right away that it was being caused by his grandfather.
"But I hope you have a good plan," Violet said. "Because we don't have magic and we have no idea where you grandfather is."
"Actually, I think I do."
Violet finally looked up, and when her eyes caught sight of the dark purple, rumbling cloud, her eyes widened.
➳
The Groundsman had led them to a building, up a flight of stairs, and into an apartment with red walls and dusty pieces of furniture.
"This is where I lived when I was still a doctor at the hospital."
Zelena ran her hand along the fireplace, her black glove immediately collecting all the rest. "So, not many maids with untold stories, then." She then blew on her glove, causing all the rest to fill the air.
Teresa wrinkled her nose in disgust, wondering how long he's been absent from his incredibly dust home. She turned her head toward the Groundsman as be rushed over to a table that was set up with serval test tubes and an assortment of liquids in different sizes bottles.
"What's that?" Snow asked as she eyes the test tube filled with blue liquid.
"A serum I created, designed to separate the good from the evil in someone. It's what we're going to use to defeat the Warden."
"Well, how? I didn't exactly see any good in him."
"Uh, it...it's there. And the good has been fighting to get out for a long time, but it never could. Till now." The Groundsman pulled a lilac flower from his coat, the same lilac flower that he was clipping back when they first met him.
"The flower...it's from the vine you were trimming back in the garden," David said in realization.
He nodded, and lifted a pair of clippers to cut the stem. "Yes. The final ingredient." He poured the liquid that was within the stem into the potion and have it a stir. In seconds, the potion turned from blue, to red.
"If only he knew I was growing it right under his nose."
"Actually, he did." The same man who had used the electrically shocking device on them burst through the door. Teresa stumbled back as he pointed it at them again, whilst making his way toward the Groundsman "Back off!"
"I don't understand. You...you were passed out drunk."
"I let you get away so you could finish your serum. Now...let's show the Warden what you've done." With a smirk, he grabbed the Groundsman in a headlock and poured a blue potion down his throat.
Teresa's eyes widened as the Groundsman was then released and began to groan in agony.
"Get away!"
"What did you do to him?" David asked.
"You have to run!"
But they didn't, they remained frozen, watching as the Groundsman continued to scream in pain. Eventually, he hunched over, shoving his hands onto the table, causing glass bottles shatter. When he rose up, his face was glow a bright red and was considerably thinner.
Then suddenly, his face became recognizable. The side burns, the scars...he was also the Warden.
"David, I think I know what story our good doctor is from."
"Dr. Jekyll, which means he's..."
"Mr. Hyde."
"The Warden...Mr. Who? Who's Mr. Hyde?!" Hook exclaimed in confusion.
"You know what I say?" Zelena sneered, conjuring a green fireball. "Shoot first, ask questions later!"
She threw her magic and it collide with Mr. Hydes chest. His expression didn't even, as it should have been. Instead, he smirked, as he was never even hit with magic. "Jekyll was right," he sighed, then gave them a sinister grin.
"Run!" Snow shouted, taking Teresa's forearm as she ran toward the door.
➳
"Excuse me," Henry said as he strolled up to the receptionist at the desk of the hotel that which the large rumbling purple cloud was under.
The woman looked up from the computer she was typing on to meet his gaze. She cocked an eyebrow at the sight of the two teenagers before asking, "May I help you?"
"Yea," Henry said. "I'm looking for my grandfather, I believe he's staying here."
"Name?"
"Gold."
The woman typed the keys, and after a moment she nodded her head, causing her curls to bounce. "Yes, we have a Mr. Gold staying on the top floor."
"Thank you," Henry told the woman before he turned on heel and headed for the elevators.
Luckily, they got the elevator to themselves, which allowed Henry to remove his backpack and reach in for the chalice.
"What do you plan on doing?" Violet asked.
"If you are correct about what this can do, then I'm going to use it to destroy the crystal."
Violet bit her lip, her heart racing with anticipation, fear creeping into her veins. "Are you sure this is a good idea? Your grandfather rendered us unconscious with his magic, what if — "
"Violet, I appreciate the concern, but I have to do this. I understand if you want to wait in the hall."
Violet frowned. "What if something happens to you? Your mothers and Teresa will be devastated."
"If it means magic will be destroyed, then I'm willing to risk even my own life."
Their conversation ended as the elevator doors then opened. Henry walked down the hall, where the lights were flickering. They glanced at each other before walking to the end of the hall, where Henry flung open the already open door.
"Stop!" Henry shouted. On the circular table in the center of the room was the Olymption crystal, and engraved on table were the strangest of symbols. Henry wondered what they meant, but it didn't matter now. Not with what he had planned.
"Henry, get out of here. There's nothing you can do."
"Yes, there is." Henry lifted the chalice, and the fireball that his grandfather had conjured in his palm was gone. He then moved the chalice toward the tables where a beam of blue magic began to absorb every ounce of magic within the crystal.
His hands shook as he kept a tight grip on the chalice.
A bright blue light and a strong wind caused them all to stumble backwards. They were left staring at the now powerful Olympians crystal in shock.
"No..."
"Henry..." Emma breathed in shock. "What have you done?"
"I destroyed magic."
➳
"I can't believe we're actually going back there," Teresa muttered under her breath as they made their way back towards Dr. Jekyll's apartment.
"He's the only one who can help us get out of here," Snow said.
"Yea, I get that, but you seen that Hyde guy, he was able to resist the Wicked Witch's magic."
When they reached the door, Hook was the first one to burst inside. With a fierce look, he shunk his hook into the spine of Mr. Hyde, stopping him from strangling Dr. Jykell to death.
"I don't think so, mate!"
Suddenly, the man with the electricity device stormed in from the conjoining room. Teresa let the veins in her left hand grow cold, but before she could blast him away with her ice cold magic, Zelena beat her to it.
"I've been waiting to do that," the red haired woman said with a smirk.
Hook threw Mr. Hyde to the ground, allowing David to run up and help the gasping doctor from the ground. "Doctor!"
"I told you to run," he gasped.
"No. You risked everything to save us. We had to do the same."
"To be clear, I was fine running," Zelena spoke up.
Mr. Hyde rose to his feet with a smirk. "Now, I'm going to kill you all."
Due to his ability to apparently fend off magic, Teresa lunged forward and claimed the electricity baton from the ground. She aimed quickly before clicking the side and sending volts of electricity throughout Mr. Hyde's body.
The sinister man grunted as he was thrown back against the wall, where he then fell to the floor unconscious.
"Let's go," Dr. Jekyll said as he gathered a few files from his table. "We don't want to be here when he wakes up."
➳
"Have you any idea what you've just done?" Gold sneered at his grandson.
Henry glared at him. "Stopped you from hurting my moms and anybody else."
"You stopped me from rescuing Belle, not to mention your family, and they're trapped in the same realm with her!"
Henry froze, his entire body tensing up as he stared into the eyes that his father inherited. He glanced between his moms, asking in a strained voice, "What's he talking about?"
Regina let out a breath before turning to face her son. "David, Snow, Hook, Zelena and Teresa are in another realm right now."
Henry felt as if the wind had gotten knocked out of him. He took a step backwards in utter shock as the realization dawned on him; all day, he had been having this...feeling in his heart that screaming to him that something was wrong, but he just figured that it was directed toward his grandfather and the crystal. Now he realised that that feeling had been Teresa. Somehow his heart knew something was wrong with her, and he failed to listen. And now he would never see her or any of his family again.
"And thanks to you, we have no way of helping them get back "
"I did what I had to. This isn't on me. It's on you!" With that being said, Henry stormed out of the hotel room and down the hall, his eyes stinging hot with tears that threatened to spill.
And they did.
