A few minutes before the grand Lightning Rescue happened,

Arrow Av finds himself get separated from The Russian Bear and Ulianna. He looks around and spots Flameo get tossed toward him. He rushes over to the Flame and drops down to him.

"Johnny, you okay?" Arrow Av asks.

Flameo gets to his feet and brushes himself off. "I think so. Where are the Bolts?" He looks around.

"I no know, we should go find them. I lost Ulianna and Geno, but I know they be fine. Let go find those troublesome Lightning players and help them out! Look like John got things handled with rescuing Val with Jamie too!" Arrow Av says in his broken English. "Come on Johnny!"

Flameo looks back to see Portal and Star Vision flipping switches and then eventually slamming into the glass container where Val and Nessie are trapped. Goldy is barking furiously at the recently returned Backstrom. The young Flame then turns his attention back to the Avalanche defenseman. "Alright, let's go!"

Together they race off and discover the room where the Lightning players are. While they do, Star Vision punches the glass with a determined fist. But it only slightly cracks and the captain for the Stars draws back wincing with pain.

"How to we get them out?" Star Vision grows.

Portal spins around to see Zvezda roar with anger and pound Ovechkin with a hard fist to his head. The villain slumps to the ground and is grabbed by Iceshot, while Goldy continues to bark at Backstrom.

"Where's Tyler?" Goldy barks angrily.

"Shut up, you stupid dog! You'll never find him!" Backstrom spits.

Goldy jumps on Backstrom and pins him to the ground, snarling, "Tell me where Tyler is or I'll bite you!"

Suddenly a loud moose grunt sounds and The Russian Bear and Ulianna skid into the room once more. Moose-Man bellows another angry moose call and stomps his hooves as he closes in on the two heroes. Ulianna and The Russian Bear scream and press on, trying to keep the distance.

Ulianna looks at the Penguin to her side. "Can't you do something and talk to the dang moose?"

"I'm trying! I'm trying!" The Russian Bear snaps, before he launches into making different moose sounds that don't do anything. "It's not working! Whatever that dang Av struck him with is making him uncontrollable! We just have to keep on running and maybe whatever it is will wear out!"

"Or we'll wear out first!" Ulianna retorts.

Zvezda watches them as they vanish again, chased by the mad moose and then looks at the unconscious Ovechkin in Iceshot's arms and then at Backstrom, pinned under the snarling Goldy.

"Jamie! Leave the container, I have an idea!" Zvezda says and then turns and claps at Goldy. "Goldy, down boy, come here!"

Goldy backs off and comes to Zvezda's side. He sits down loyally and glares at Backstrom as he gets to his feet.

"Jamie, grab Backstrom and John, try teleporting to get Psychica here!" Zvezda orders, patting Goldy on the head.

Star Vision nods at her and walks over to seize Backstrom, while Portal vanishes from sight, finding he can use his powers once more.

"How--?" Iceshot questions.

"Ovi is unconscious. It means he can do absolutely nothing to prevent us from using our powers. Trap him in ice, will ya Gabriel? I'm gonna look at this glass container and John should be back with Psychica any moment now," Zvezda remarks.

"You still won't win!" Backstrom snarls.

"Jamie, go ahead and eliminate him! One less villain to worry about!" Zvezda says, smiling at Backstrom. "I'm so far from the 'being a good guy to any villains' right now!"

While Zvezda and Goldy go to the glass chamber and look it over, Star Vision activates his powers and channels the harmful beam to zap Backstrom, who tries to scream but is obliterated before he can.

A few seconds later, Portal returns with Psychica, who has her arms wrapped around his neck. She lets go at once.

"Okay, so what's so important you had to take me away from my beloved Vova?" Psychica snarls, flicking her decoy wand at Portal. "Every moment I cherish with him and someone's gotta watch over him, so he doesn't get into trouble!"

Zvezda walks forward. "He'll be okay, trust me. All the evil is here, he's fine. Plus this will only take a second."

Psychica rolls her eyes and frowns. "Better be. If he gets kidnapped again..."

"He won't, I swear. And if you must, John, fetch Vladimir!" Zvezda says, nodding to Portal, who heaves a sigh and vanishes once again, only to reappear a second later with Vladimir Tarasenko. "Awesome, happy now?"

Psychica shrugs and grabs the bewildered man's arm pulling him to her. "Okay, what's up?" She glances toward the hourglass with is filling up fast with sand, which is up to Nessie's chest by now. "Whoa! What the--?"

"Ovechkin...it's a long story. But we got him here, trapped in ice and I think you're the only one who may be able to get us answers!" Zvezda remarks and then gestures to where Iceshot finishes freezing Ovechkin in place, leaving all but his head are frozen.

Star Vision, Iceshot, Zvezda, Goldy, Portal, Psychica and Vladimir all gaze upon the once great villain.

"Goldy, you, John and Gabriel go see to getting Val free from the hourglass and hurry! Jamie, just in case, ready your star vision," Zvezda says, before turning to her snowy haired friend. "Alright, I need you to read Ovechkin's mind, what we wanna know is why he's evil and why he kidnapped Val and Vladdy!"

Psychica nods and raises her arm out ahead of her, flexing her hand into a claw shape. Then she lifts her other hand, which is holding her wand. "Rennervate!" A small ball of pink energy shoots from the tip of her wand at Ovechkin.

It hits him and he instantly stirs, snapping awake. He narrows his eyes, spotting the heroes as Star Vision tenses up and jerks at the ice, finding it difficult to move at all...only his head. He growls in anger.

"You'll pay for this!!" Ovechkin snarls. "Ovechkin doesn't lose!!"

Psychica taps into her mind and locks onto Ovechkin's, causing him to suddenly stop moving and remain still. As she keeps their minds locked, she mutters, "Get Val, as well Evs and Jamie, I can handle the captain of the Capitals, here." And she closes her eyes and finds herself flying into Ovechkin's thoughts.

Vladimir watches her amazed and romantically.

Psychica finds herself looking at the past with Ovechkin and Ulianna's fight, to Andre's death, to the first time that he and his friends trapped Val in the lair with Brooke, to all of the recent events. She gasps in shock, but keeps her focus and telepathically begins to communicate with her subject:

Do not be scared, Alex. My name is Psychica and I am here to help you out, as well as my friends. Why are you after them? Oh, I see, you desire revenge? That is not the answer, Alex. Revenge drives people to madness.

What do you know? Ulianna betrayed me, Geno deserves to die for getting in my way and stopping the moose from killing that no-good snow leopard agent!

No, you forget who you are! Who did this to you? Who is controlling you Alex? Tell me!

No.

Tell me. Psychica presses harder on her telepathic communication demand.

I will not!

You will, because you want to tell me, Alex.

No--I--It was... Ovechkin's face screws up in weird expressions as he tries to fight Psychica's telepathic hold on him. Ryan Kesler!!

Thank you, Alex. I'm going to help you out and get rid of him. It may hurt, but you'll feel better afterwards. I promise.

No!! Don't do anything!!

Psychica opens her eyes up and causes them to turn a milky white-blue color. Then she whips her wand at him and Ovechkin screams in pain. His scream lasts for a good minute before he stops and Psychica drops her arms.

At that moment, OmniSwede, UniBolt, Aqua Kuch, TJ, Blesk, Russiosteel, Flameo and Vladdy skid into the room. Russiosteel has Arrow Av's limp body in his arms and Vladdy is being aided by Aqua Kuch and Blesk.

"Where am I? What the hell is going on?" Ovechkin blurts out. He spots Ulianna and The Russian Bear dart back in; Ulianna skids to a halt spotting Ovechkin and his bewildered, yet softer face. "Ulianna?"

Moose-Man charges at her and the Penguin tries to pull her away but she doesn't budge, staring in shock. The moose leaps at them but stops halfway to them and crashes to the floor in exhaust.

"Ow my head," the Avalanche forward grumbles, lifting his hoofed hands up.

Ulianna walks forward, while The Russian Bear goes over and helps Moose-Man up to his feet. "What happened to you, Ovi? You're back to your old self it seems."

Ovechkin smiles at her. "Yes, Kesler, he-he took control of my brain. He wanted my powers for some reason. I'm so sorry. My powers were supposed to be used for good, but now...I don't think I even want them. I almost hurt the people I once called family."

"You killed Burkie, Ovi. And most of your friends are dead. But there is one, who you can still help out," Ulianna says, gesturing to the side of her toward the hourglass. "Evgeny Kuznetsov needs you, Ovi."

Zvezda motions to Flameo to come over and the young Flame gets to work on melting the ice. As he does so, Ovechkin looks to see Nessie buried in sand, looking at him with a longing look.

"Cut the wires," Ovechkin says, urgently. "They operate from the switch, which I had specially designed with Kesler to work one-way so it would be difficult to stop! Get my teammate out of there!"

Ulianna bounds over to the machine near the hourglass and opens it up. She finds herself able to transform her hand into a snow leopard paw and she slashes all the wires, instantly shutting down the hourglass. Sand stops spilling out and Nessie finds himself able to slip through the sand.

Nessie grabs Val's hand and pulls him out. They both emerge from the interior and fall to the ground coughing and gasping for air. Ulianna rushes over and checks on them. Flameo finishes unfreezing Ovechkin, who races over to Nessie.

"I'm so sorry Nessie, my boy! Thank goodness you're okay!" Ovechkin cries, wrapping Nessie up in a hug.

Nessie hugs him back, smiling and murmurs something to the captain of the Capitals in Russian.

Star Vision looks around for his friend but doesn't see him and he frowns. Something isn't right... but he doesn't wanna jump to conclusion or tell anyone yet.

UniBolt turns and hugs Vladdy, who hugs him back, shaking off the exhaustion and trauma. "I love you, Vladdy!" the unicorn sobs.

"I love you too, Jo!" Vladdy sobs back.

"I love you Pally and TJ!" Aqua Kuch states, holding his arms out for a Triplet hug. Blesk and TJ sigh and smile and hug him.

OmniSwede looks at Russiosteel, who still has Arrow Av in his hold. They both shrug.

Portal turns to look at Iceshot, who raises an eyebrow at the Islander. "Hug, Gabriel?"

"Not on your life, Tavs!" Iceshot snaps back. "I don't do hugs." He folds his arms and rolls his eyes.

Zvezda shakes her head and looks around at the huge love fest happening and finally to Psychica and Vladimir, who are sharing a moment, smiling at once another. She is joined by Ulianna and Val.

"Alright Hockey Avengers, gather up!" Zvezda remarks, looking at everyone to make sure they were all present. Her eyes land on Arrow Av. "Oh my God, what happened to Zady? Is he-- okay...or?"

Val races over to Russiosteel. "What happen to Russian archer brother?! What happen?"

OmniSwede leans over and replies, "He's dead, Val."
